Why does /o/ not like Aston Martin the way that they love Ferraris and Koenisgegg
Aston has outsourced their power trains for a long time now, might as well fawn over an AMG GT. I personally like Aston but they're not pushing engineering in a flashy way. Ferrari has lost a lot of its luster as well, but Koeniggseg keeps the hype train going with batshit ideas like wrapping a transmission around the motor
/o/ is a McLaren board, chud
>>28744154miss these fish lipped bastards like you wouldn't believe
>>28744154I didn't know they liked anything, this is news to me. I thought anything with more than 200 horsepower and over 20k was tasteless arab bait or something,
>>28744154I prefer Aston, as do many. It has a certain understated class that the other exotic brands lack. They speaks for themselves and exude a quiet cool. The people that enjoy them are not going to be talking about them all that much.Aston is to Breitling as Lamborghini is to Rolex. It's new money vs old money.
>>28744154>
>>28744394You're allowed to refuse delivery if you saw that right?
>>28744394This can't be real
Aston has and always will be my favourite car brand. They are generally understated gentlemen cars and are just cool. Despite being eternally bankrupt.
>>28744394I should start making these plates, but with some posh sounding english name. Easy money.
>>28744265I own a non-racing V8 version of one of those "fish-lipped bastards". Had it for 6 years - great car. Not without its faults and quirks but overall love it.>>28744387I'd never claim to be "old money" but nicely put.Pic rel.- it's the inspection plate of mine As an actual owner I'm happy to answer questions. I'll ignore trolls
>>28745338Where the fuck does one get an Aston serviced
>>28745386Depends where in the world you are. I'm UK based, so either main dealers or we have a small number of independent specialists. I've used both. VH Astons are mainly simple cars and many owners maintain their own cars - a ramp and OBD reader is pretty essential. If you're in the US then the situation is somewhat different, with huge areas of territory and not that many dealers to cover it. In that case I'd be looking at an independent who specializes in exotics and has some Aston experienceWe also have a number of firms in the UK that call themselves specialists that I wouldn't let near a Lego car - but I guess that's the same the world over.
>>28744394>Iqbal SinghNot something like James Posford or Ian Jones. Wtf is going on in the UK?
>>28745556>Wtf is going on in the UK?You're clearly an idiot
>>28745556>Wtf is going on in the UK?It's been over for a while
>>28745556>>28745706I'd love to know the name of the racially-pure car maker whose products you guys drive....or should that be the bus company whose products you ride?Might you might stand a chance with a Japan-produced Japanese car? No, probably not>What Subaru does not tout is that its boom is made possible in part by asylum seekers and other cheap foreign laborers from Asia and Africa. They work at the automaker and its suppliers at Subaru’s main production hub, here in the Japanese town of Ota, two hours north of Tokyo.https://www.reuters.com/article/world/subarus-secret-low-paid-foreign-workers-power-an-export-boom-idUSKCN0Q21GR/Surely, a new Chinese EV might be? But no.>But at the other end of the production line, workers are shipped in – thousands of Uyghurs, Kazakhs, and Kyrgyz every year – from Xinjiang, the western region at the centre of a long-running human rights crisis. Moved as part of a labour transfer scheme that experts call forced labour, these ethnic minorities are coercively recruited by the Chinese state to travel thousands of miles and fill the manufacturing jobs.So why don't you walk over to /pol/? or take the bus.
>>28745413Which specialists would you not recommend from your experience?
because they cheaped out and outsourced their enginesand the interiors - which should be the best part of a GT car - are bland and forgettableAston should focus on GT cars, wagons, and SUVs with a smooth ride, smooth 6 and 8 cylinder engines, and - most importantly of all - creative, design-forward ultra luxury interiors to justify the price and differentiate it from mainstream manufacturers
>>28745777Depending what work you want, some of the most recommended that I'm aware of are:Bamford Rose, DAE (David Appleby Engineering), Martin's Aston ServicesAston Installations.I would not recommend XK Engineering, who have an AML-approved paint and body shopI'm also quite OK with my local MD
I think everyone is scared of British cars because of the well earned reputation for ultimate luxury coupled with terrible reliability. I mean, sure, luxury is nice, but your car needs to car more than anything else. Otherwise it's just a fancy garage sofa.
>>28745825the interiors are not creative enough or luxurious enough to justify the price
>>28744154>>28744243>>28744187>Aston>Ferrari>Konkeknigseg>AMG >McLarenNone of these brands are good. Ford Mustang can slap that ass, and Ford isn't even good. Wtf are you doing? You niggers can't even put your car back together when it breaks because you're BLACK
>>28745795Thank you very much. I would have gone to DAE, especially after meeting him in a pub, but it's a little far for me. I took mine to Quantum Works. They did a great job with the paint, especially after some bellend using a van launched an audi into the back of mine.

>>28745727>Some shit skin work at some point on my car>I am so proud a shitskin work on my overpriced car I will put his shitskin name on it as a label of excellencePick one
>>28745793>Aston should focus on GT cars, wagons, and SUVs with a smooth ride, smooth 6 and 8 cylinder enginesSo. Like Rolls-Royce or Bentley then? And protip - other than Zagato variants, Aston don't and never have made wagons

>>28745937>Never made estatesThat's where you're wrong.https://www.thegentlemansjournal.com/article/finest-aston-martin-estate-cars/
>>28745948>That's where you're wrong.No. No I'm not. Two were by TRoos Engineering, by cutting and shutting a coupe. The DB5 was a one-off for the then Chairman.Sure, throw enough money at their Q division, or take a car and lots of cash to a coachbuilder, and they'll make you a one-off. Not quite the same as making them for production.
>>28746005If coachbuilt ones don't count then, fair enough as there was the DB6 as well.
>>28746022Coachbuilt is an estate/wagon made FROM an Aston, not an estate/wagon BY Aston. A coachbuilder will make you anything out of anything if you pay them enough and they have the skills.

>>28746377I seem to be coping rather well with the fact that you could never afford an Aston Martin, and that Aesop's fox applies.
They're my favourite, if I could have a manual v12 volante db7 or db9 it'd be perfect. Cruisable, trackable, top down summer fun.
>>28746732I could buy an Aston and I liked some old modelsBut I better keep my Porsche not proudly made by Jamal

>>28745793>outsourced their enginesThe V12 is Aston, it's only the V8 which is AMG
>>28748380That said, the new DB12 and Vantage, Aston have made some considerable changes to the AMG V8. Where the DB11 and 2018 Vantage were pretty out of the box, that's no longer the case.
