>my favorite car of all time is the Mitsubishi StarionWhat type of person do you imagine?
>>28744656I'll one up you>What type of person do you imagine? An autist who hates other people
>>28744656best wheels ever
>>28744667when i was a kid there was a sort of mean/cool lady down the street that drove a probe only person i ever kinda knew with one.
>>28744656I imagine that you're me, in which case I'm sorry man
>>28744681the car is cool i want to ride in one
mister conquest
>Several sources attribute the name to struggles by Japanese engineers to pronounce the word stallion.>2.6L I4
>>28744656
>>28744693I think Mitsubishi USA just decided to keep the name because they thought it sounded cool.
>>28744656I imagine an aging millennial who peaked in 2012 covered in tattoos and has those stretcher earrings and a bald head with a beard combo. He also has a fat wife who is covered in tattoos.
>>28744656I only see spics driving these. None of them ever do anything cool like 4g63 swaps, they just bitch about how much the 2.6l sucks.
>>28744656I almost bought one of these on a whim back in the day. My friend worked at one of the local Ford dealers and they got it in on trade in. Took it for a cruise and it was pretty fun, but it had electrical gremlins so I noped out. Glad I did after doing more research on them years later. >>28744667Love me some Probes. Those KLs sound great.
>>28744728yes the 2.6 was meh. the car version, the truck one was different and better. i don't care if they had hemi heads in them it was a mediocre engine.
>>28744656Someone who's lived in the shadows while knowing they've always been a Winner. A dude who wears a suit to work but chops trees down to build his own house from the dirt.A starion has always been one of the 80s goats. It stomped on 86's and Z's without needing the attention unfortunately this made people take them for granted.>>28744693Fake news, that's fuddlore. It's name is derived from Hercules Horse and the constellation of stars that make said horse. Bet your stupid ass doesn't know its turbo'd and rwd huh faggot.
>>28744738>My friend worked at one of the local Ford dealers and they got it in on trade in. Took it for a cruise and it was pretty fun, but it had electrical gremlins so I noped out.that was probably why it was traded in in the first place
>>28744727>I imagine an aging millennial who peaked in 2012 covered in tattoos and has those stretcher earrings and a bald head with a beard combo. He also has a fat wife who is covered in tattoos.also they have a son, but it's not actually his son and is half-black
>>28744816and the kid has no interest in the lame starion because he wants a hellcat like his biological father drives
>>28744816MUTT'S LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW
>>28744656>What type of person do you imagine?Someone who doesn't know much about engines.
>>28744656I was actually going to get one, but the auction for it and my Capri were on the same evening and I ended up with the Capri in the end.Still wanting to get a Starion, Galant GTO or Celeste in the future though, they're cool cars you don't see very often down here
>>28745271The starion looks great but the engines were badly out of date even when they were brand new and they don't have rack and pinion steering. Nothing on these cars was built to last and you need another 2-3 starion parts cars in the back yard to keep one running. The starion cruise I went on had the most paranoid, worried drivers I've ever seen. IIrc there were 7 cars. They avoided any major roads in and didn't go too far in case someone broke down and needed a tow truck. They all had walkie talkies and were constantly reporting on the health of their cars and slowing the convoy down occasionally when any of the cars were getting too hot or having other dramas.
>>287446695 stud copy of GOATED Supra wheelsI will admit they come in some pretty wild specs though
>>28745326yeah i remember hoping they'd fit on the a70 supra without issue but the width is funky
>>28744728>>28744747Nothing wrong with a dirty old 4G54What it lacks in refinement it makes up for in brute strength and capacity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o79FrsOfq44
>>28744656hell yeah brother
>>28745282Mitsubishi turbos in the 80s-90s were always like that because they didn't put an intercooler in them so they would just overheat.
>>28745282>Nothing on these cars was built to last and youit surely didn't help that the average owner of this type of car is a subhuman retard who trashes the thing in a hurry
>>28745683in such fairness Mitsubishi is a giant manufacturing conglomerate and cars are just a side venture and not their core business
>>28745282Cordia turbos were nearly as bad. Grocery getter Mitsubishis of this period were alright enough but if you had a performance or luxury model you deserved every bad thing that came to you.
>>28745282>>28745683when driving one of these, keep your eyes on the temperature gauge at all times. i'm not kidding.
>>28744656A big guy, like 6'7" and 350lbs with a big beard, because that's what my old friend who was really into Starions and had at least 6 of them at one point looked like.
>>28745271>trade me
not having a turbo intercooler was fairly inexcusable
>>28744656Nice 3rd gen Celica
>>28746107A single point injected sohc engine and no rack and pinion steering on a jap "sports car" in the 80s is more unforgivable. It's like an engine out of a van or people mover with a turbo slapped on the side. Mitsubishi themselves were putting DOHC engines in their hotted up shitboxes in 1970 then they serve up this turd.
>>28746145
>>28744656youre one of those black dudes that likes anime
You guys realize you can just add a cooling system for the turbos / swap them for a small modern turbo.
>>28746107Not even kidding. The manifold will actually glow red if you push it too hard.
>>28747119and put a GOATED Magna EFI manifold on it >>28747253any cast iron manifold will glow red if you push it hard enough, even on your N/A economy turd
>>28747628>any cast iron manifold will glow red if you push it hard enough, even on your N/A economy turdOn Starions just going up a hill can do that.
>>28747628>and put a GOATED Magna EFI manifold on it You know shit's bad when the manifold off a budget family sedan is an upgrade.
>>28748344To be fair... the Magna was something like a decade later. It's really not a bad motor though, not as good as a 4 valve twin cam, but a SOHC with a nice hemi combustion chamber isn't too far behind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6M83LbgM8Y
>>28748363>To be fair... the Magna was something like a decade later. But in that decade all the other manufacturers were offering dohc with multipoint and had been doing so since the 70's AFAIK only mitsubishi were taking the piss with such a laughably outdated engine in their flagship "sports car"
>>28748369Only compared to high end Japanese and Euro cars, compared to 'murican cars of the era it fit right in.
