>>28745571How is it? I entertained buying a cheap 1999 Z3 earlier this year. however, 175k mile bmw as a wrenchlet trying to learn how to wrench, plus car part tariff concerns didn't sound like a wise move, though I've read they're pretty dependable outside of the water pump and typical plastic rot for a 25 year old car. Ended up with a mustang gt instead.
>>28746303They're good enough that if you acquire one you might just have to buy another.smol = super fun since you can tear down back roads while having plenty of room if an Urban Assault Vehicle is coming the other way a foot over the line.Gobs of low-end torque and good gear ratios. (Gear ratios can make quite a difference. I test drove a newish Golf and that thing had its 2-3 shift point somewhere around 45-50MPH. But ~40MPH is the speed you take corners on a twisty 25MPH road, which means shift-shift-shift-shift-shift-shift. The Z3 i6's can just stay in 3rd all day long.)It's a super fun car.
>>28746364That's cool, he wanted 4500 for it but it had a rebuild title he didn't disclose in the listing, which killed my interest right then. I've driven a Miata, >an automatic nb, around a neighborhood before and found it fun, but I drive on the interstate a fair bit; the mountains are about an hour away, and I figured the bump in power would make it more dailyable. I bought this American barge instead because it had a clean title for 3800 and only two owners, and it met my general criteria of V8/I6 RWD, manual max price 5-7k + 3k repair allocation. No rust but Shitty paint, tons of chips. Also parts are everywhere, there's three of these being parted out on fb marketplace right now.
>>28746364Glad you wound up keeping that car anon.
>>28746541It's been a hell of a trip from where I started.
