Bangle didn't deserve the hate
>>28750745Just because BMW made even worse cars later doesn't mean that his designs weren't significantly worse than their predecessors
yes he did
>>28750745stfu.>let me show him his ignorance...
>>28750750/thread
>>28750745Including/after Bangle, every single generation of BMW has looked much worse. Just because it's even worse now, doesn't mean Bangle's designs weren't a major downgrade
>>28750745Bangle was a great designer and anyone who says otherwise is a dumb cunt reading magazines from 2006. Yeah the ass of the E63 isn't great but the E60 still looks modern 20 years on, and it's successors are nowhere near as well designed. The E85 is still sexy and always will be. Look at the gross shit they replaced it with. The guy was literally ahead of his time. I'm no BMW fanboy, but I will defend Bangle to the end. Everything he designed still looks as good, or even better, than it did back then.
>>28751007>The guy was literally ahead of his time. You're right, but not for the reasons you want to be.
>>28751007e60 is disgusting
>>28750745it's hard to explain how wrong you are
>>28750745Considering that you find Bangle styling cues on most cars currently for sale, I'd agree. Hell, the current Lexus IS alone has a bigger "bangle butt" than an E65 7 Series, yet nobody complains like journalists did in 2002.>>28750762The Z4 still looks pretty fresh today, the crisp lines and '''flame surfacing''' fit in perfectly now that every other Lexus and Hyundai has the same styling cues. The Z3 looks like it's ready for antique plates on the other hand, not a negative but you can tell it comes from the same era as the NA Miata.IMO the only thing that gives away the early Z4 is the shape of the headlights, make them thinner and add LED angel eyes and it looks new.I'd extend that opinion to most Bangle-influenced BMWs too, even. The BMW E39 is top tier and a timeless classic, but a well kept BMW E60 can still pass as being from the '10s as well. Same with the BMW E46 and E90, the E46 is a timeless classic, yet a well kept E90 still fits in perfectly with normal traffic. E38 and E65 - see where I'm going?>>28751007>The guy was literally ahead of his time. I'm no BMW fanboy, but I will defend Bangle to the end.I'm with you there, I've owned Bangle and non-Bangle BMWs but I don't even own one now.>inb4 hurr they're ugly I don't like themI like the non-bangle designs better too, I'm more speaking of the fact that it influenced everything else to the degree where 20+ year old designs still look fresh in a traffic lineup of 202X cars.
>>28751007>the E60 still looks modern 20 years onIt looks like a 2000s car, you just like them.
>>28750749>>28750750>>28750994Exactly,It's like being served an overcooked steak with no seasoning then afterwards being served literal dog shit on a plate
he went crazy with 3d angles and it looked tacky and overwrought then and nowhis goal was to bring women to bmw, and it may have worked, but the designs are classless and inelegant
>>28750745Bangle didn't design the e90 or the e60. That was Joji Nagashima, and Davide Archangeli formerly of Pininfarina. Oddly enough Bangles name isn't even on the design patents for either car but Boyke Boyers is.
>>28751399whatever, the whole ass company was abusing 3d design of metal sheets to make overcomplicated designs
>>28751399Just to add, Joji Nagashima is also the designer of the e39 and the z3 roadster.
>>28750994What's wrong with the F10 exactly? It's always "Bangle looks better because everything after was beyond hideous" and yet the 2010s cars still looked just fine and were even more conservative in design.
>>28751446boring, conservative, stupid creases
>>28751450t. angry face enjoyer
>>28751452I think design kinda peaked in the 90s 2000s before they went insane with 3d designed creases
>>28751107kek, thisi've seen too many cases where people say this or that car from 20 years ago still looks new, without realising that the average new car looks like this
>>28751107It still looks very new imo. I don't hear people say it looks like a brand new car, but I've heard a lot of people IRL say it looks like the most previous generation, like it went out of production only 4 or 5 years ago rather than 13 years ago.
>see somebody say that a "bangle-era" BMW wasn't actually that bad>look at the designer for the best bangle-era BMWs>not designed by bangle>look at the designer for the worst bangle-era BMWs>designed by bangleevery single timebangle critics are 100% justified
>>28750745Yes he did.
>>28751452bro this is full angry face
>>28751064Rude.
>>28751537You still got that ugly bumper on it?
bmws have more ugly designs than not
>>28751542Fuck you I like it.
>>28751402The fancy bends and folds are actually expensive and if you go look at Audis current new line up you’ll notice they’re gone….because they’re cheaping out
