Why not? You don't have to get both legs down to ride it, but I'd recommend all the gear before enduro riding.
>>
>>28754084
Busa? K5 GSXR? IDK how reliable ZX14R is. I'd say Honda 1000cc are nearing 200hp now and if they are not reliable, IDK what will be. Also, IDK if 1290, 1390, S1k are easy to live with. If I wanted budget, I'd stick with a Busa.
>>
>>28754095
a supersport was my initial thought but I'd want touring ability too

i know people claim "i do more miles on my busa than most people do on their r1300gs" but stock windshield, panniers, and cruise control are minimums for me at this point

What is better and more practical as a daily bike: XSR900 or CBR600??

I'm thinking the CBR because it must be very good on gas if you're not pushing it plus it has wind protection

>>
>>28754134

>>

here's a thought: how about riding to work!
>>
>>28755163
On the other end of the spectrum I ride for a living and look forward to my days off work and avoid riding my bike on those days. I love riding and that's why I do it for a living but absence makes the heart grow fonder and riding is more enjoyable after a day or two off.

When I got my licence back after a 3 month suspension period I missed riding so much that I rode (worked) for 12 hours a day for a few weeks. I was like a machine. But now after about eight hours of non stop riding I feel like I've had enough and call it a day.

I ride to work every day, part of my day today is just a couple hours riding my friends bike to his new place before riding my own bike back home. I put on 20k miles last year and half of that was probably just my commuter miles.
But interstate miles are boring, I want the adrenaline dump of taking my bike out somewhere fun and really giving it an exercise instead of just holding the throttle and staring forward scanning for threats so I don’t get my day ruined by some random in an altima.
I wanna take my bike somewhere pretty and show it all the cool things I live near. I want my bike to fulfill its design purpose

Alright guys, I’ve modified my carb, my exhaust, my intake, etc. My bike backfires on deceleration, like non-stop. If I’m going downhill and I close the throttle, it sounds like a fucking AK47 burst unless I pull the clutch or keep a bit of throttle on. Is the idle jet too lean? It doesn’t do it when revving at a standstill, only when the bike is taking in air while riding.

I never did one being 50cc still and pre-2001 loicence. But everyone says how good it is and useful. Great little course etc.

I will do the CBT in the next 12 months in preparation for an 'A' licence. I know the Yanks have a similar foundation course as part of their test too.

Im currently onto my 3rd CBT due to being a proper lazy bastard and not even considering getting the big boy loiscence
All i really do is commute for 8-9 months of the year

The first instructor i went to for it was an older guy and he was pretty based, after a short 10 minute conversation he told said to me
>"Anon, it seems clear to me you know the basics, you can still do the test if you want or i can just pass you now, it will save me and you spending the next 4+ hours showing you things you already know"
I had a 125 for a 2 years when i was younger and you didnt need any of this CBT nonsense
Just passed my 3rd one in October there, but the original instructor has retired now so i had to go and actually do most of the test

Went on a ride for an hour or so following the instructor, around half way round we pulled over and he followed me back to the test place, he was happy, just a few reminders about looking over your shoulder etc , never bothered with the car park stuff as it was a "refresher course" and it was pissing down and he couldn't be arsed lmao

The "off road" part of the CBT (as in a car park not off road lel) is just some basic figure 8s and cone manoeuvres, plenty of videos showing the entire process, if you already have a bike id suggest getting comfortable with the slow speed stuff , just generally getting used to the feel of it

Do your test on a geared 125cc if possible, no point doing the scooter one beacuse it will just limit you ever you ever want to switch to a geared bike (you have to do the entire fucking test again)

>A unique feature that gave the new EXUP model its commonly used name was Yamaha's four-stroke power valve system EXUP valve, a servo-motor-driven exhaust valve. This allowed large bore exhaust for improved gas flow at high engine speeds but with good low engine speed performance thanks the engine speed controlled exhaust valve restricting flow at lower revs. The new EXUP machine gave class leading pulling power from low revs, seamlessly, up to the red line at 11,500 rpm. It also allowed extremely radical high lift cams that gave a very lumpy idle when unplugged in the open position or when using a full aftermarket exhaust. Yamaha continued to use the EXUP valve system on the subsequent Yamaha YZF1000R Thunderace and Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycles.

I reckon even if you or he never intend to ride more than 125cc still go for the full 'A' test on a hired manual bike. If that means paying for a direct access course then so be it. This is my firm intention. No sense in having a restricted licence unless you are under 19 still.

basically half a day of pissing around in a car park and some "classroom" learning (looking at a whiteboard and using common sense (you wont have any common sense because youre not a road user, but its fine, you'll learn it eventually when you do your theory and ride more))
then 2-3 hours of road riding to make sure you wont kill yourself - or worse, get in front of my car

you can go to it with 0 experience, and most (white) people will be able to pass in a day
dont be afraid to drop the bike (LOL! its theirs and thats why you'll pay so much)

and if youre genuinly considering it, and getting your own bike afterwards, go and get your own helmet, jacket, gloves and boots (most companies will let you do your CBT in a good pair of jeans too, so no need to worry about trousers just yet)

shouldve just made it a background project instead
your videos were uniornically actually interesting compared to most of the sloptubers who just take wide panning shots of a river on their drone, or read off the local wikipedia page about some inane bullshit that happened 400 years ago

RIP lil nigga, maybe I'll catch you on the roads some day
>>
I wish riders would pressure manufacturers to put proper geartrain like shafts or belts on their bikes. However normies are too braindead so we stuck with chains. They probably think it's good because there's chains in motogp or something.

Well bros today I acquired a straight piped 2001 Honda Shadow V-twin for free. 33k miles and it's got no compression on one cylinder. Never rode a motorbike before but I've worked on cars. Is it worth keeping? Do you guys have any youtubers or resources that show these engines being broken down or someone specifically dealing with this issue? From my limited research, straight piping these bikes fucks up the fuel/air ratio and the previous owner didn't know shit about it, so it probably burned an exhaust valve.

Eager to know you guys' opinions on this unit and whether I should offload it or get it running.

It was my neighbor's bike, sounded like fucking valhalla and meth psychosis. Loud as shit and backfiring constantly on decel (likely due to straight pipe + improper carb jets). Problem is, I live on the ocean and if I strip this thing for 30 minutes it will develop a fresh, new, aggressive, angry layer of rust on top of the rust it has already unless I drive 50 miles inland. First things first, gotta get it running properly

Oh, I just realized you meant for lifting.
I've actually been thinking about it recently. It would require quite a bit of rearranging and getting special matting, in order to appease my OCD, and I haven't had time for that yet. I have been kicking the idea around though. I have all the equipment already.
I do like the atmosphere of a gym though, and I don't have a treadmill, but the time savings would definitely make it worth setting up. Especially on the days when I'm really time crunched.

The only racing series that matters is Superstock 1000. They're using too many upgrades in other sieries. Superstock bikes are mostly stock and they're using similar engines.
So no overdevelopment bs, no cheating, no crazy budgets - just factory bikes.
