Last thread didnt last longHave you parked your Miata for the winter? What have you done to winterize it?Did you pickup any Black Friday deals?
Miata is parked, no prep done but I did all the maintenance prior to parking. Waiting on my Tecna coilovers to show up for spring.
>>28753981Miata is parked, driving my comfy mazda 3 turbo over the winter. I should probably tell the insurance company so I'm not wasting a ton of money....
How long is long enough running to keep the battery charged over the winter? The remote start only runs for like 10 minutes.
>>28754331your car has remote start? is it an auto?
>>28754331Actually drive the car for 15 mins. Or buy a battery tender, they're super cheap
Miata is parked, winter tires are ON. Will drive any time its dry outside, it happens often enough. Feeling too lazy to put on the hardtop. >need to fuel up >cloudy but not rainy >drive with top down for shit and giggles >heater on blast, feeling fine>arrive at gas station >attendant starts with "how are not cold af!?" >it has a heater my bro>have a good chuckle As soon as the Christmas bonus drops i will be ordering new engine mounts and maybe tranny mounts if there are any. I am tired with the vibrations. /blog
>>28754598Oregon, or New Jersey?
I'm going to look at an NC1 tomorrow, is there anything specific I should be watching for? The top looks pretty ragged out in the pictures but the interior, body, and engine bay look pretty clean.
>>28754331Just get a jump box/tendiethey're super worth it even if you don't have a car you garage for months at a time.
>>28754598>make fun of new jerseyans for being toddlers that cant pump their own gas>express jealousy at not having gas station butlerswhich post do i write?
>>28754758I think rust behind the seats cause that's where it'll appear if the drains are clogged. Rust in the back of the trunk and also check in the foot well
>>28753981>Have you parked your Miata for the winter?Nope>What have you done to winterize it?Nothing>Did you pickup any Black Friday deals?Nope
>>28753981miata threads tend to last longer when the OP image easily visibly contains a miata
>>28754598Which gen? If NA/NB I recommend the OE competition mounts. 40% stiffer than stock which is great for shifter feel, but not so much more stiff that it would rattle your teeth out like aftermarket poly mounts. No Miatas have a transmission mount, it's supported only by the bell housing bolts and the powerplant frame that goes between it and the differential. https://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/20-1094B.html
It's summer, my car is garaged but she's taking me to the family Christmas which is a three hour trip one way. I'm so fucking glad my AC works.
>>28753981How do you get this kind of ground clearance? What spring shock combo would do this?
>Have you parked your Miata for the winter?Kinda, it is in storage but close enough for me to go up the street and swap out.>What have you done to winterize it?Rubbed all the rubber trim like door and trunk seals with wax so it doesnt stick if I go to open the door.>Did you pickup any Black Friday deals?Just some used parts a few days after, black Friday isn't what it used to be. Saving 12$ on a 900$ purchase won't sway me. Now, that one time Flying Miata had gift cards for 25% off....

Changed my oil myself on my ND for the first time after letting the dealership do it for the first 4 years. When I went to buy the oil filter, I brought it back to my car, opened the box, and it seemed like a piece of shit made of scrap metal. Quickly researched on my phone and learned all about miata oil filters, the ones made in Japan vs Thailand vs Mexico. The one I got was the Mexican one. Went back into the dealership and asked if they had the better ones and got a Thailand one. Of course, found that the one on my car was the Mexican kind, as I'm sure has been the case all these years. They also overfilled the oil last time. I fucking hate mechanics. I always thought they could at least be trusted with an oil change, but now I know that is not the case. Luckily I'm also past the phase of overprotecting the car, so I'm not losing sleep over it, but will never bring it to a mechanic again. If there's something I can't fix, then the car will simply be dead. A mechanic makes things worse than they fix.
>>28761047bases scam realizer.i had free oil changes from the dealer before and free carwashes if i came with a plate cover.ive never been back to that dealer, and i threw the plate cover away the second i got home
>>28761047lube techs aren't mechanics, everyone knows they're braindead retards
Why is the NDs 1st gear so gdamn spaztic? Didnt expect it. Why? Just to fuggin launch it as hard as possible with the low hp? 17 years driving manual and I stalled it ;-; >>kysI kno.
>>28753981>Have you parked your Miata for the winter? I park it at least twice a day, after driving to work and after driving it home, and when there's fresh snow I turn traction control off and do some skids
>>28762476Skill issue. Only time I stall my ND is when I'm too tired to be driving and forget to depress the clutch as I come to a stop
any one ever get mad cravings to hoon when the Miata has been parked for too long?Feels like when I used to be addicted to nicotine.
>>28762551yes, i get the itch every couple of hours too.
>>28762551I spent 2 hours the other day clearing wet snow with a snow blower and now I have a cold and mountains of frozen snow outside my house. I don't even want to see outside world unless it's through a double pane picture window from inside a toasty room.
>>28762551absolutely
>>28753981In the previous (?) thread I mentioned wanting to get an ND 1.5 but the reason was that my previous car had been stolen. Somehow I managed to find it so I don't think I'll be getting an MX5, especially not right after buying a house so I guess I'll wait a few years, farewell for now.
>>28762551fucking me and feels soo good drive after week of driving other car.after +2 weeks and starting to get itch, that I NEED to drive it.
>>28763209I need a giant pair of panties to stretch across the nose of my miata
I want a miata because roof go down and headlight go up, but girlfriend wants room for extra people when we pick up her parents to visit or something. Wat do

Has anyone ever used or have any experience with the Surco clamp-on trunk racks? I don't have a lot of faith in the suction cup racks, but I can barely find any reviews of the Surco rack. https://surcoinc.com/surco-stainless-steel-removable-deck-rack-miata-2016-thru-2023/
>>28763156see you in a few years buddy. congrats on the new house and finding your old car.
>>28764477oregon or idaho?
high miles NC or 3rd gen MR2? mr2 around 100k $5500, NC 180k $6500
>>28765234I'm on the other side of the Rockies in Wyoming, trying not to get blown off the highway.
>>28764477those things look like the shitty bike racks that will absolutely take paint off and damage your lip.>>28765964my buddy is in Cody, he was supposed to move out of there this past weekend, he has a box truck all packed up, but the 100+ mph gusts of wind is keeping him grounded.
>>28765380the NC2 at this point probably has a better aftermarket only by merit of the MR2's age. pretty much any QOL improvement you need for the NC is going to be affordable and easily accessible - relative to the MR2, of course. what I mean by this is that it will be far simpler and cheaper to get an NC and make it run and feel the way you want than the MR2however, the MR2 is 10x cooler than any miata. therein lies the dilemma. if you're buying high mileage and are going to deal with high mileage probs, get miat. can always throw a 2.5 in there easier than most swaps
>>28766781Miata engine bay will be a lot easier to work on too.
>>28764164That's my bad I should be made it a follow up post. I was looking at buying it but I'm not trying to immediately have to fix rust
>>28763632Tell her to get her own car for that purpose.
>>28764159kek, driving alone is THE experience >turn down the music!
It's been 2 months since I've seen an NC with the right color/spec that I want. I'm doomed
