2011 SE>only 14,000 miles (that is not a typo)>one owner (elderly)>immaculate condition>$5,500Do I buy this car tomorrow? What am I in for?Tell me about the sixth generation Ford Fiesta SE.>cool pic is of a different fiesta not the one for sale
>>28758212>btw it is the sedan model not the hatchback
>>28758212>cool pic is of a different fiesta not the one for salewas gonna say, if that's the one then it's definitely been run ragged and beat within an inch of its life>>28758215>sedanno
>>28758215>sedanAbsolutely yes
>>28758219it's not even a kinda cool sedan thoit's just worse than the hatchback in every waycan you even fit a body in the trunk?
>>28758215Does it have a manual or transmission issues?
>>28758212Does the engine have that wet belt shit? If yes, make sure it has been changed at least semi resently.
>>28758231*recently
>>28758216>y not sedan?Indeed; here's a link to the Fiesta with AIR SUSPENSION in the cool pic:https://fordauthority.com/2021/09/2011-ford-fiesta-se-with-functional-air-suspension-up-for-auction/>>28758219I also think the mini sedan looks nice.>>28758222Hatchback would be nice for a variety of reasons, but, hey, if I can lift the body, then I'm pretty sure that I can definitely stuff at least one body in the trunk of the sedan.>>287582256-speed automatic (technically an automated dual-clutch pseudo-manual transmission); how problematic are these, and when should I expect issues?>>28758231>>28758233I'm not sure, but I only discovered this car while browsing the internet today, and plan to look at it tomorrow (and buy it for cash on the spot if everything seems good). How many miles/years should I expect out of this vehicle? And, if I don't get it, what should I instead buy with my budget? I've got $15,000 cash but don't want to spend more than half on a car. I'm also the guy looking at that 2.0L 2015 Elantra Sport in surprisingly excellent condition with only 25,000 miles on a new motor (160,000 miles on the body). I'm also looking at some relatively reasonably-priced 200X & 201X Mitsubishi Mirage, Honda Fit, Toyata Yaris, Toyata Matrix, Pontiac Vibe, and, of course, that $2,000 1998 Toyota Camry with however many miles and a rather clapped out body but strong engine, among other cars. Also a 1987 Mercedes 300E. Also a variety of BMWs (my 1997 328i convertible needs body work after an accident).I just need a nice, fuel-efficient, durable, low-maintenance A-to-B car that's (at least relatively) comfortable for my lanky frame.Thank you for your attention to this matter.
>>28758244>y not sedansedans are asshatchbacks, coupes, and trucks are the only things worth your attention
>>28758251Zoomer retardation, sedans are awesome.
>>28758215>eggshit>"sedan">auto>econoshit>14 years old>Anon is going to pay $5,500 for itYou're the reason the car market is so fucked. If you're stupid enough to buy it for that price, you deserve it. Enjoy your Ford DCT issues. >>28758253>sedans are awesomeYes, FULL-SIZE SEDANS. Not econobox sedans that have their storage and comfort completely compromised by not having a hatchback. The fact you don't understand what people actually miss about proper sedans tells us all you're the one with retardation (Look at me I'm different! My eggshit has less storage!).
>>28758253I should have qualified that, full size, body on frame (and a few unibody) sedans are cool.
>>28758244>how problematic are these, and when should I expect issues?Very, very soon
>>28758251>>28758253>>28758264>>28758265I enjoy your lively discussion.>>28758264>You're the reason the car market is so fucked. If you're stupid enough to buy it for that price, you deserve it.Look at the numbers in pic related.14,000 miles. What should I counter-offer? $3,500?>>28758267...how soon? Again, it's only been driven 14,000 miles, practically mint condition (assuming no rubber rot), probably literally only driven on Sundays to church (and the grocery store once a month).

>>28758244>6 speed autoThey are allegedly a huge problem, Ford lost a class action on it. As long as the owner got the recall service and kept up with maintenance it could be fine, my 2014 at 80k miles never gave me any tranny trouble.Just keep it in sport mode outside of parking lots and warm-up time, give it more gas than you think you should when taking off from stops (it doesn't like mild inputs because it's trying to predict your next needed gear), and avoid idling forwards.I think you can reset the transmission learning memory, which you should if an elderly person was driving it.
>>28758244I drive a 2014 mirage and my wife drives a 2017 fiesta. Fiesta is definitely more comfortable to drive. Less shakes, less road noise, etc. Mirage gets better mileage and has been slightly more reliable. 120k on the fiesta and it burns oil (1.5qt between changes), has some very minor transmission clunking. 180k on the mirage and I beat the dog piss out of it. Use it as a service vehicle for work, haul heavy loads, off road (construction sites etc). Only issue it's had is the starter not meshing sometimes. Replaced that and it's fine. Absolutely sucks to drive. Feels like a tin can. Loud as hell inside. Hurts my back after 1.5hr or so.
>>2875821210+ year old cars with very low mileage could mean the entire fuel system is fucked, everything from the tank to the injectors. fuel can go bad surprisingly quickly, i would say at the very least you'll find the fuel filter is pretty clogged, and that's assuming the previous owners used regular unleaded fuel. If they only ever filled it with an ethanol mix, forget it entirely and move on
>>28758664this might be the dumbest post I've ever seen here
>>28758695wow, you really showed me with that absolutely nothing response.
>>28758212>one owner (elderly)This is a bad thing
OP here, I just got back from test-driving that Ford Fiesta. It ran & drove well, was mechanically sound, but that car stank of mold or mildew inside, had some missing interior panels, a bunch of scrapes on the driver's side door around the keyhole where the previous owner clearly frantically but futilely tried to get the key in (makes sense: it was donated/sold to auction by whomever had power of attorney over the old guy's estate), so I tried out a few other cars.Still haven't settled on one.
>>28759424God was looking out for you. He says to look for a hatchback.
>2011 automatic Fiestakek run the fuck away
>>28758244>6-speed automatic (technically an automated dual-clutch pseudo-manual transmission); how problematic are these, and when should I expect issues?Focus haver here, DPS6 will start to shit the bed electrically anywhere around 40-60k miles. With the newest TCM it will mechanically last until 160k-220k miles, at which point you can easily swap in an MTX-75 5 speed manual and take it another lifetime. 2.0l Duratec + 5 speed lasts forever. See pic related for the TCM model every DPS6 should have installed. Frankly that fresh of a fiesta should be mint with a new one of these. Highly recommend, fun little vehicles.
