Anyone have one of these Noru motorcycle race suits? They're literally half-price of the competition ($299 instead of $600+). I have a Noru mesh jacket that's good enough quality. It says it has all the right certifications to get me on a race track. What am I missing here? Should I get one?

When are 2025 models going to drop more in price? Some of the models I'm considering getting are already $2000 off. That gets rid of the transport and dealer fees, but they're still too expensive.

i would say it probably has to do something with the fabric they use. some manufacturers charge extra for real leather but synthetic fibers are already on par or even better nowadays. still noru is fine

Couple of dealers near me have some 24s. Problem is, the models I want either came out in 25 or the color I want is 25. Idk what you want, but my local dealer has a bunch of 24 Suzuki V-Stroms 800s and 650s, KTM RC 390s, and Yamaha XSR900s. Some good deals to be had, but not what I want.
>>

>>
>>28758587
>i would say it probably has to do something with the fabric they use. some manufacturers charge extra for real leather
It says it has real leather, but it's 1.1mm thick. Some people on the Internet say that's bad because other brands are 1.5-1.8mm. I already have a back protector I can steal from my jacket, and the rest of the armor comes with it. I don't know if that extra 0.4-0.7mm really makes much of a difference.
>>
>>28758605
damn tough choice. when you really like a certain color it gets almost impossible to consider a different one
>>
>>28758618
If I'm spending close to $10k when all is said in done, I want the color I want. Plus, I always want a hearty discount to get a new exhaust and flash to get the performance up to the euro specs. After all, that's what the bike should be at anyway.
>>
>>28758599
Is that a turbo R1..
>>
>>28758617
i thought it was more but .4mm difference is almost nothing anon

based take. you can even ask the stealership if your model is coming this christmas/new year before dropping any cash
>>
>>28758630
so the leave is also the helmet?
>>
>>28758630
china numbah one
>>
>>28758628
It's even less depending on the brand. AA Class Alpinestars suits are only 0.2mm thicker and costs $800-700. Then I see people saying you shouldn't get anything that isn't AAA Class, I still don't know what any of it means, and SOME of those are 1.5-1.8mm thick.
Both tracks I'm considering going to only require that the suit (1 or 2 piece) are leather instead of ballistic nylon or textile. That's it and there are no specific requirements after that. Essentially, both rule books just say everything has to "look" race oriented, expect the helmet that just needs to be a DOT certified full-face (retro and ADV helmets are ok too).
>>
>>28758633
>you can even ask the stealership if your model is coming this christmas/new year before dropping any cash
3 dealerships in my area already have the models I'm considering. They've had them for 8 months and some even have multiple models in the color I want. These places are selling SXS, beginner bikes, and Seadoos to stay afloat. All the bikes I want have been rotting and they're definitely paying hearty amounts to keep them there. I'm patient. They even have some 24 models (not in the right color tho) and if people aren't buying those idk why they'd think they'd get anyone to buy the 25s at the MSRP.
>>
What the fuck are differences between back protectors anyway?
Lvl 1 or Lvl 2
Air/Breathable vs Not
Axial or Klim
Sizes
Shapes
What the fuck does any of it mean?
>>
>>28758661
Level 2 is more protective, level 1 is more flexible. As for the size, you want the same size as mentioned in your jacket. If they suggest a brand, that might also fit the jacket better.
>>
>>28758661
One more thing, Klim is a good brand, so are d30, sas-tec, alpinestars, knox and dainese. I have knox.

when something is cheaper for no apparent reason, its because its worse quality
if youre actually intending to race or ride fast on roads, dont cheap out on a suit

the only time you'll get a cheap suit is
1. its end of season/production sale of a big name brand and you get it in-store, NOT ONLINE
2. you go to some third world country where they actually produce the high quality stuff and you have one tailor made for you there with the exact same materials the name-brands use (but this costs more as you're flying to the place)

dont compromise your safety for a couple 100 buckeroos

>I just want to fix bikes man

>>
>>28758738
you know you can just google these things and get an objective opinion, right?

The Ducati Panigale V2 offers premium Italian performance with accessible V-twin grunt, strong electronics, and higher cost; the new Yamaha R9 provides a cheaper, triple-cylinder, all-arounder that's great value but needs tire upgrades for serious riding; while the Honda CBR600RR (Euro spec) is a sharp, tech-laden middleweight track weapon, though the North American version feels dated, making the R9 a better value there, but all offer thrilling supersport experiences with different flavors.

Ducati Panigale V2 (2025+)
Engine: 890cc V-twin, 120 HP, strong mid-range torque.
Character: Easy to ride fast, premium feel, great electronics.
Pros: Accessible power, intuitive handling, high-spec suspension (S model).
Cons: Most expensive of the three.

Yamaha R9 (2026+)
Engine: 890cc Inline-3 (CP3), good all-around power.
Character: A versatile "all-rounder," great value for money, fresh design.
Pros: More affordable, fun triple-cylinder, strong contender as a street/track bike.
Cons: Stock tires are poor and need immediate replacement, can feel wider/heavier initially.

Honda CBR600RR (Euro vs. NA)
Engine: 599cc Inline-4, high-revving screamer (119 HP).
Character (Euro): Modern, tech-heavy track weapon with IMU, modes, TFT.
Character (NA): Older platform, less tech (no IMU), feels dated compared to R9/V2.
Pros (Euro): Excellent modern supersport, great electronics.
Cons (NA): Outclassed by the R9 in value and features.

Verdict
For the premium, user-friendly Italian experience: Ducati Panigale V2.
For the best all-around value that can do it all (with new tires): Yamaha R9.
For a pure, high-revving track machine (Euro spec) or an outdated budget option (NA spec): Honda CBR600RR.

because its not worth the time or effort to make them any more
1/3 the general is indian retard spamming generic retarded questions they could simply google
while another 1/3 is retards larping (mostly the canadian and the drake schizo) as if they've ever done any serious riding in their life and turn boring inane discussions into dick waving competitions where they just lie constantly
leaving 1/3 of actual humans who occasionally browse the thread, but that number is dwindling with each passing month, partially due to season shit, but also because of the previously mentioned 2/3s just shitting up the thread and making it an unenjoyable reason even from the toilet at work
a couple guys got bans before when they were adding/removing the meet'n'fuck map from the OP because 1 retard kept reporting it as dox, and guys had to wait a week to even appeal it
and now you've got schizoids saying people are running scripts to make new threads early, when in reality its probably just our personal janny doing it to stop the schizos from making their own 4 threads all with different tags and titles
the website, board and general are in a stagnant rut because of 1+2 causing 3 to become disinterested

that's because honda has been in the country for many decades and have dealerships everywhere. there is also a shitload of third party support for their bikes, some parts are even produced here, which is a rarity, yamaha does the same but this year they brought nothing but new scooters and worse versions of their already stablished motorbikes, theya re always behind honda no matter what they do.

everyone else just imports the bikes and assemble them here but they do no make any parts. Brazilians are risk averse so they stick with what works and any mechanic worth their salt can fix a honda bike in no time.

recently there's been an increase in sales of third parties because honda motorbikes have simply become too expensive for some poorfags to buy so they started hyping other brands out of spite. It is all actually quite funny.

how good/bad is reliability on the BMW F/G 650GS Dakar/Sertao? I believe all of the Dakar and earlier Sertao (maybe) all have the Rotax built engines.

I tried asking about these a few threads ago and just got a "google it" answer and a wikipedia page, but that's a given as no one here knows shit about bikes.

Well I know for a fact that rotax engines are fairly hardy and they are aircraft rated, some of them, plus their parts availability is quite good too, so it "shouldn't" be an issue and fixing the thing shouldn't be too hard either due to it being a thumper.
My main worry would be electronics

Actually from what I've read that's not the case.
Most of the engines failures were with the LC8c which was a KTM engine made in partner with CFmoto.

Pretty damn good for the Dakar, although the engine is water cooled, and the water pump remains a week point on a bike made nearly 20 years ago. The Sertao is not held as highly in regard as the Dakar, but that's because it was made in China for the BR market. It's probably still good enough.

most of their models are sports bikes, the entry model is decently cheap but everything else is really expensive.

Honda excels in sales because they sell low cc bikes and scooter for the everyday man. Since we are a poorfag nation most people buy motorbikes out of necessity and for work, so they god for the 110cc - 300cc motorbikes. Food delivery exploded around here, much like uber, because you can make decent money without being charged too much in taxes.

suzuki is a special kind of case around here. They sell bikes under a company called JTZ, which also sells other chinck shit bikes like Haojue, zontes and kinko. For whatever reason that no one really knows JTZ decided to only sell top of the line suzuki bikes so the huge majority of people simply cannot buy them and the ones who can usually live in big cities where crime rate is high and no one wants to risk it.

>honda is a goddamn mafia with a monopoly on engine production

there i said it
>>
>>28760526
lol poor. imagine not having ten bucks
>>
>>28760536
lmao, the reason it is a "monopoly" in Brazil is the same reason steam is a "monopoly" in the pc market. they did it better than anyone else before anyone else and no other competitor can get to the same level as them. Yamaha this year was a fucking disgrace, they introduced the same bike they always sold but with LESS power and more expensive, they are also focusing a lot on scooters now. It will be literally the ONLY brand this year to sell less bike than the year before when everybody else double or even tripled their numbers, even if they don't com close to honda these bike sales should have been yamaha's but they fucked it up. Some even say they might leave the country for good but the rumor sounds a little farfetched.

Then again India tried selling bikes here and only lasted a year, which is a shame because their bikes were cheaper than Harley's at the time.

loolololol, bunch of excuses just to say "yes anon honda is a mafia"... same thing with gabe they like to control the market. brands like kawa would never stand a chance

Pretty based ride. I can see why she did that. I love that you are ATTGATT on that scoot? Is that a moto boot? I usually ride with a helmet, shorts and flipflops when on scoot.

What is your style? You could go ADV boots on your scoot, they are stylish.
>>
>>28760688
Boots are the next thing on my Xmas wishlist and I want something that looks like a military boot. I don't need a gear change pad on my left boot because I'm not changing gears and I'll be wearing them for around ten hours a day so they'll need to be comfy. I'm not unhappy with my current steel capped boots but I don't think they offer ankle protection so I'm shopping around for a dedicated moto boot. Or maybe two boots because I have two feet.
