Cadillac was equally the White man and the Black man brand. That's why it's one of the American crown jewels of auto makers. Without black Americans, cadillac would not be standing today.

niggas nowadays prefer foreigns because their folks rode cadillacs so they don't want to be conflate as old uncs. YNs also don't appreciate classy comfort they just want speed and excitement cuz they too wound up to chill.

The cars people are actually buying are cars that are more likely to depreciate. V series/blackwing Cadillacs hold value better than any of its euro contemporaries and are therefore, more out of reach for blacks compared to euro sedans. Ergo, the caddy is the white man’s choice.

>>
>>28764360
They're surprisingly solid cars. My dad got a steal on a leftover '18 in 2019 (35k for a car with a 50k sticker) and had it until the end of last year, and it drove great and never really had any issues. His was a Ti Lusso with the upgraded interior and it was gorgeous inside too, almost on par with a top-spec F80 M3 that had double the sticker price. He'd probably still have it but he moved to an area where it didn't make sense for him anymore, so he traded it in on an Outback Wilderness. (Remote small city in the mountains, 3+ hours from the nearest Alfa dealer, and enough snow and off road driving that something AWD with ground clearance made sense.)
>>
>>28765875
'17s were an absolute clusterfuck, and Quadrifoglios pretty much never stopped being trouble as far as I know. Regular '18+ Giulias are generally decent though, at least no worse than any other Stellantis product.

>>28765878
>They're surprisingly solid cars.
No major problems in 7 years. The stop-start died on me once during covid when everyone was off the road and I didn't drive it anywhere for like a month while I was out of town.
*I disabled the stop-start in 3 minutes after this because I didn't want to deal with it.

I like Caddys. My wife has the 6 cylinder ATS. We've never raced, but I think the Alfa gets to 60 mph first, but she'll win at 100.
I replaced her rims with cheaper rims the first time she cracked them because women just destroy them. I've accepted it.
>>
>>28765955
Yeah, covid caused the only issue my dad's had as well, he drove it so little that the gas in the tank went bad and killed the fuel pump.
There was also one other really stupid thing where we thought it had a starting problem but it turned out to be a key battery that was just low enough that it would unlock the doors and put the car into accessory, but not actually start it. I went as far as replacing the starter relay, which was an absolute nightmare (fuck you Stellantis for that design) and the whole thing was complicated by the fact that I thought of the battery early on and changed it but it turned out the replacement he had was expired and was ALSO doing the same thing.
>>
>>28765955
>The car's 100% stock*.

True, though once i disabled the stop start, it wasn't an issue. I did baby the battery by putting it on a tender when the temperature went below 0F, but that's just common sense.

2020-2023 is the sweet spot. New cluster on the 2024+ has rattle issues because they tried to shoehorn in a new cluster without changing the binnacle. Pre-20 models are DI only and had the bad battery/relay issues. 20-24 models have the new battery supplier and functional relays, but also don't have the shitty new trend following cluster and the rattles that brings. My QV has been flawlessly reliable so far, for both myself and the original owner. I'll get around to replacing the coolant bleed screw as preventative maintenance eventually

I replaced the stock battery this July. so far I left it a week in the airport over thanksgiving when the temperatures were close to 0F, came back and it was fine.
Since 2018, I've replaced the radiator and rain sensor (lol don't care, both were under warrantee).
I had a temperature sensor fail this spring, seemed to put the car into normal mode every few weeks (you can easily reset it using the alfa steering wheel konami code), and just did that 2 or 3 times until I had time early this summer to bring it in. That's when I replaced the battery.

Basic maintenance is cheap and easy.
Parts are dirt cheap because it's MOPAR. I just did spark plugs myself for like $60 in parts + a $20 chink torque wrench.
Oil changes are slightly expensive, I think about $80 in oil and then just take it to a cheap oil change place, make sure they use a torque wrench and fresh crush washer, and you're good for $100 oil changes.
Transmission fluid changes are even cheap.
For preventative maintenance you need to do:
>coolant line(s) @ ~$60 behind the engine
>fluids + plugs
>battery (if it has the crap one) + relays (maybe $300+)
>OBD2 programmer (MX LINK + so you can clear codes on the fly)
>turbo coolant & oil o-rings ($1200 at the dealer, cost $300 for me at an independent plus about $10 in parts). It's probably a 2 hour job DIY if you use the trick to just loosen the heat shield instead of totally removing it. Do this every ~30k miles for peace of mind, but realistically they'll probably last 60k miles or more.
>>
>>28771757
That does include a lot of coolant flushes. I have a tiny garage so I don't think I'd be able to DIY anything like that, but thanks for the overview.
And how come the tranny fluid change is inexpensive? Doesn't that require specialized equipment?
