The only thing that a scooter would beat out on bikes are compactness, but folding bikes both electric or otherwise blows them the fuck out of water.

If someone held a gun to my head and said I must choose one to ride for the rest of my life I'd choose the bicycle because I'm bi and prefer to sit down than stand up.

eBike people are super dangerous where I live. We're talking "dark clothing and no helmet on the shoulder of a highway at 1am" levels indicating a total lack of self-preservation kinda dangerous. Even on a good day, they rarely follow ordinary rules of traffic and drive defensively. You can feel their distain for the everyday commute and suicidal ideation with your windows up. Absolutely baffling nihilists.
Then again, I've never even beheld the degenerates who leave rental eScooters lying about in the middle of the roads and sidewalks where the batteries die. They could be worse.

while most ebike owners I've seen at least have some semblance of traffic laws, these electric scooter riders have no self preservation instincts. It's not entirely common where I live to see a foreigner going mach fuck though a redlight at a somewhat busy intersection.
