They’re incapable of building EVs. They tried and failed to compete with Tesla. Evs are something Europeans are still trying to figure out.

Nobody's buying this net zero bullshit, most people can't afford living with an EV and even if you could, why would you? You're literally shooting yourself in the foot for long distances, they don't last as long as ICE cars, they're useless when the electrics fail and they're twice as hazardous when they ignite. If European automakers could actually make good EVs Europeans would be shilling EVs and shitting on American automakers for falling behind. If European automakers could make trucks, Europeans wouldn’t be shilling their van shit as cope. If the euro auto industry can’t do it then it must be the thing that is wrong not the automaker! When VW got BTFO in their emissions scandal, it was the emission standards that were wrong not the automaker! If any other automaker but Europe was caught in a massive scandal, it would be Europeans bragging about how “insert brand here can’t meet first world regulations! No wonder no one wants them!” You also see it in how much they defend their auto-only “enthusiast” cars. European brands won’t make engaging cars with manual so I guess manual enthusiast cars are just for people with deep rooted personal issues like trucks, EVs, anything emission compliant.

The intense amount of Stockholm syndrome euros have for their auto industry is quite frightening.

AI.

All these AI data centers that major investors are creaming their pants over take a huge amount of electricity. We already didn't have enough electricity to switch our cars over to it and now there's even more demand so any illusion that we're going to be getting rid of gas any time soon is dead at least until they build a bunch of new nuclear plants and/or pave the countryside in solar panels.

EU has been so disappointing the past couple years. I guess not being able to contain the snow mongols attacking Ukraine made it extremely risk wary. Like they're so afraid to damage their own industries now that none of their principles matter anymore. It was all just play pretend and when shit got real in Ukraine none of it mattered.

I hate pedo Trump but he's right about one thing - EU has no cards. A dickhead like Orbán can run around actively sabotaging the EU and nobody even dares tell him to stop. Belgium can randomly decide to withhold the Russian oligarch money and nobody can tell them shit. EU has no real power. All it does is just regulate regulate regulate shit until it becomes irrelevant. But there is no vision or real influential power to it. You'd think a unified Europe with all its vast wealth, knowledge and population would absolutely curb stomp the US and China. But nope. Instead it's stuck begging US for more missiles.

The fate of Europe at the current trajectory is to ultimately become vassal states to either US, Russia or China. It can't hold its own. Its capacity to threaten the world with a world are long gone.

EU's biggest fundamental flaw is the consensus requirement. There are a number of absolutely critical areas where all members must agree on a course of action. This is immensely bad; imagine if all US state governments (who also have autonomous foreign policy links) had to agree on several aspects of economic or foreign policy, whenever an issue or initiative is brought up.
>>
>>28768758
It's a flaw if you want a United States of Europe. If you want an EU that is made up of sovereign nations, then it's a feature.

This is why EU is doomed to fail. The constellation of nations is simply too fractured for it to be such a democratic system. It needs to be either like America with the majority rule in Congress or you make smaller alliances between more like-minded nations. Unfortunately the whole point of EU is also to contain Russia to the east so it is more or less forced to include bunch of retarded parasite slav nations.
>>
>>28769044
More EVs
>>
>>28766752
>Europeans are the biggest shills of EVs and are the most anti ICE
Considering the limited domestic reserves of hydrocarbons, this is entirely logical.
>>
>>28769299
nigga please

if the EU actually wanted to minimize hydrocarbon use, they'd incentivize working from home (no car trip is more env friendly than not making the trip at all) and they'd mandate the installation of power outlets in apartment building garages (can't switch to EV if you can't charge at home).
same applies to the US and every other country, btw. NOBODY is doing those obvious things to help reduce hydrocarbon use.

the whole pressure to make cars more efficient has nothing to do with cleaning the air or reducing hydrocarbon use or saving mother earth. the very earliest measures might have had something to do with it, as urban smog was REALLY bad back then. im talking about switch from carbs to efi and the introduction of cats, btw, nothing more recent.
recent efficiency measures were all about propping up the car industry, especially past 2000.

cars back then were already good enough. fast enough, safe enough, and reliable and simple enough to keep them running indefinitely.
but we can't have that, can we? how are we going to sell more of them?

hey, i know, how about we tax the shit out of them and ban them from city centers and force everyone to upgrade to the newer model that has 5% better mpg? i mean, obviously that's not enough to counter all the pollution entailed in its production, but hey, it aint like retarded voters (esp leftists) are gonna do that math, lol.
>>
>>28769151
Same stuff they're always thinking
>I fucking hate America, by Allah, I'm so much better than them!
>>
>>28768754
This is true in the US too. Because public chargers charge so much EVs that are solely charged on them are less price-efficient than comparable ICE cars. I did the math with my local prices and an EV that gets 3 miles per kWh (which is quite solid and above average when you average both summer and winter together) charged solely on public chargers would be as expensive to drive as a ~24 MPG ICE car. Why buy an EV if it's going to be as expensive as a gas guzzler? No wonder people are dumping these things on the second hand market.

(For comparison's sake if charged using my home electricity cost it would be about equivalent to a 65 MPG ICE car. Better, but still not amazing. The sticker that says it's a ~120 MPGe car may have been true in 2022 prices, but gas has gone down since than and electricity has gone up so it's not a rosy picture for EVs right now.)

I think here in the states EV tech is here to stay alongside Internal Combustion Engines as a hybrid. We need a way to get around that doesn’t involve charging stations. Hybrid vehicle batteries ought to be cheaper to replace and represent less of the car as well. I’m looking at my next car being a late 2010s V6 non Hyrbid if I can manage it.
>>
>>28766729
Tesla chinese-ified the entire automotive industry. It's the reason why the EU came up with this retarded policy in the first place, and why ALL cars became shit post 2015-ish.
>>
>>28766723
European automakers can't compete with cheap Chinese EV's. Same as the "green energy" transition made China the solar panel capital of the world, ICE ban would make China the car making capital.
Even retarded European leaders know that they shouldn't bankrupt their own industry chasing nonsensical targets.

there is no "decades behind" in manufacturing, the moment a nation decides to build an industrie up they steal the current know how (without the legacy baggage) and leapfrog 50 years of development.
This cycle happened in every developed country during the 1750 to 1900's and to the chinks in the last 40 years.
The Japanese were three century behind europe in 1875 But fought the first industrialised war in 1905, in the next 50 years build up one of the most modern militaries the the world has seen and by 1980 were a power house of the semiconductor industry

There's zero reason not to buy a hybrid. Literally none. Why the duck WOULDN'T you want a car with even a shitty 20mi battery that you could run all your errands on + vacation on a gas engine or when you go over that mileage. The batteries have gotten better to the point you can just cut the gas tank down in size and throw a 70mi battery in for just a few hundred lb penalty and cover 99% of your needs for a fraction of the price.

It really is new bad old good for some people and I say this as someone dding a 12mpg raptor and owning a 1 st gen Cummins.

Rather than putting sin taxes on electricity and gas, like Brussels demands, Hungarians enjoy subsidized residential electricity and heating. Hungarian women enjoy lengthy maternity leave (three years) and become exempt from income tax after two kids. Hungarian families are eligible for numerous grants and subsidies for buying houses, improving energy efficiency, and installing solar panels and batteries. Families with three or more kids get a grant for buying 7+ passenger cars. Hungarian first time home buyers are eligible for mortgages with 3% interest. Much of the money for this comes from breaking EU rules by targeting foreign businesses (especially banks and insurance) operating in Hungary for special taxes. The Hungarian government likewise ignore EU public procurement rules by preferentially giving contracts to Hungarian companies rather than fucking krauts. I think you can guess why he might be popular at home but not particularly popular with fucking krauts and krautlovers.

Check out his "Seven Theses on the Future of Europe" speech: https://2015-2022.miniszterelnok.hu/viktor-orbans-address-at-the-conference-entitled-free-for-thirty-years/

> Our first thesis is that we are racing towards an imperial European Union. Instead of a Europe of nations, in Brussels we see the construction of a European superstate, for which no one has given a mandate. There is no such thing as a European demos: there are only nations. And without a demos, it is impossible to build a democracy; therefore the construction of the Brussels empire is necessarily leading to a democratic deficit. We want something utterly different: we want a democracy of democracies, the basis of which is formed by the nations of Europe. Let us not be afraid to say this out loud: we democrats, who stand on national foundations, are confronting the empire builders – who are also, in fact, the opponents of democracy.

Ford just dropped their EV division and Tesla is still operating at a negative, Anon. EVs are not practical and were never practical, it was just another bubble to divorce retards from their money. People do not now, nor have they ever actually given a shit about the planet, nature or pollution either, except insofar that we would rather it were in China or India than over here where we have to breathe it. The people who tell you they do are the biggest liars. No exceptions.

The funny thing about it all is that the Chinks haven't figured out yet that they actually copied a scam tech from the West and they're fully committed to making it work while either not realizing or not caring that it was never viable and that we'll be burning coal and oil for the next thousand years until we're ready to tap stars for energy or something, because that's what its going to take to outperform a controlled explosion in a confined space.

Ford didn't drop their EV division faggot. Their CEO has stated over and over again that they must be more competitive eith EVs. They cancelled one model which had no business being EV anyways.

>Tesla operates at minus
They don't. Tesls reports quarterly profits for some years now.

And speaking of China, they are now world leading in renewable energy. They added so much wind and solar the past year that the increase in electricity demand was all offput by their renewable expansion. China has no strategic desire for ICE. BEV fits them perfectly as they have complete control over all chains in the production with zero reliance on imported oil or engines. They also have had huge problems with smog which EVs help them to reduce. The Chinese EV revolution will be a painful wake up call to the west. The Chinese having it easier than us buying a very affordable small EV is disgrace for us.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/neilwinton/2025/12/21/europes-2035-auto-co2-plans-now-look-like-an-ice-defeat/

The European Union’s revised proposals for CO2 emissions after 2035 ended the planned monopoly on electric vehicle sales and was initially portrayed as a sop to the traditional auto industry, but as the dust settles, it appears to be a defeat for its combustion power.

>The measure will now have to be approved by politicians in the European Parliament, and if the proposals remain close to those published Tuesday, it will be a clear victory for the EV purists.

Schmidt Automotive Research founder Matt Schmidt put it this way.

>“A few Porsches, Lamborghinis and Ferraris will still be allowed, but in reality, normal consumers, if they purchase, lease, or rent a new car from 2035, will be seated behind the wheel of an EV,” Schmidt said.

The Commission proposed automakers cut emissions by 90% by 2035, not 100%, compared with the base year 2021. This would allow a limited number of pure internal combustion engines, as well as hybrids, plug-in hybrids, extended-range electric vehicles and hydrogen-based ICE. The 90% CO2 concession was dependent on using green steel. Other measures included incentives to build small, cheap EVs.

>Schmidt said new ICE customers will be limited to the privileged few because prices will be raised hugely by the cost of green steel and renewable fuel.

“ICE models will become the Haute couture Swiss watches of the motor industry, while everyone else goes Casio,” Schmidt said.

>green steel.
Do euros even make their own steel anymore?
And what aspect is going to make it 'green' ?
Removing the coal needed for the process?
What does green aluminum look like?
>>
>>28774529
Green aluminum is easy, Iceland uses geothermal for theirs. 800,000 to 900,000 tonnes annually, second only to Norway in Europe.

"Green Steel" is just steel/iron recycling with electric furnaces. The japs and chinese do that mostly. Technically neither is truly "Green" because of the nature of ore extraction/purification.

At this point an Islamic caliphate will be an improvement to what the EU has become. There's something deeply wrong with Europeans
