Have you driven a Ford lately?
>>28767418No, it hasn't run.
>>28767418Drove a Lincoln so pretty much
work fleet switched to explorers this year. they do ford stuff. on good days they drive nicely with satisfying acceleration. on bad days i curse the name of the entire company. it's always some irritating bullshit that shouldn't ever happen on brand new vehicles less than a year old. like power liftgate doesn't feel like opening half the time when i press the button but will open if i press the button on the key fob. or the screen freezes. and of course ALL OF THE CLIMATE CONTROLS REQUIRE THE SCREEN TO FUNCTION. or the seatbelt height adjustment doesn't click in correctly on 25% of the vehicles so you have to push on the plastic to bend it so it does. or the adaptive cruise/forward collision pops a warning that the sensor is dirty so it's disabling anything connected to it even after i just cleaned the fucking thing. or i try to use lane keep assist with both hands on the wheel and it doesn't like my hand positioning so it just disables lane keep and cuts cruise as well. i'm sure there is plenty of nonsense happening under the hood the fleet mechanics are fighting with every day.
oh and there is no option for non-adaptive cruise. i think. i'll have to check at some point but i'm pretty sure if it thinks the radar sensor is dirty and disables cruise control, you get no cruise control of any kind.
>>28767418An hour ago. Always fun.
>>28767517>power liftgate>adaptive cruise control >lane assistdo you need it to change your diapers too?
>>28767418I drove mine today
Mine is currently on the road dead because my key isn't in the ignition
so you approach the liftgate with job in pocket. you press the button on the liftgate. the lights blink indicating it has recognized the presence of the fob and has unlocked the vehicle. the liftgate makes the noise indicating it has unlatched. then... nothing. doesn't open. press the button again. nothing. try to manually pull it open. it resists. finally press the button on the key fob, it opens right up as if slapped on the ass. multiple explorers all same year and trim. 50% chance of this happening. 100% chance it happens multiple times per day if used for work.
Erry day, and will continue to erry day
>>28767418I drive my mustang daily
>>28767418No I don't like American cars.
>>28767517It's insane how these american vehicles break more often than my dad's 20 year old french beater, why do Yanks keep buying this shit?American cars have been undeniably shit for the past 50 years now
>>28767418My Ford is actually a Volvo.
Yeah
>>28767418Thankfully no
>>28767418Drove my mom's puma when visiting her this summer. Pretty zippy considering it's a 1 liter 3 cylinder turbocharged mild hybrid. Hope it doesn't end up having problems as it ages. They call it a crossover but it's lower to the ground so I consider it a hatchback.
>>28768592If you sit higher than a Golf it's a crossover not a hatchback.
>>28767418My last work vehicle was a Transit Connect 2.5. Fuck that thing and anything vaguely related to it (Maverick). That was the worst transmission I've ever used. One of them in our fleet went through 3 trannies in a year. The rest only lasted a couple years before hitting the auctions. The Transit 150/250's are better but they still have their issues. I haven't tried any of the modern F-Series trucks but I would really hope they're a lot better.
>>28767418Yeah.
>>28767418Have you played Atari today?
>>28767418Yeah, a 2023 Ford Maverick because it's the company car.It actually fucking sucks, I hate it.
>open door >DOOTDOOTDOOOOO>put key in ignition>DOOTDOOTDOOOOO >start it up>DOOTDOOTDOOOOO >oops haven't put on my seatbelt yet>DOOTDOOTDOOOOOfuck ford
>>28767418No, BTR in the territory finally became unusable.lol new system breaks chan x when verification isn't required
>>28768951people who don't disable door/ignition switch chimes are npc cattle
>>28768976Who gives a fuck, autist.
>>28768962just update your shit retard
>>28767705my man.what year?have a 2010 GT myself, always brings me joy driving it.
>>28768250All this newshit with 1000s of electric gadgets are just itching for any reason to quit working. Old stuff was simple and therefore reliable.
Daily an F450
>>28768951BOOT EDGE EDGEBOOT EDGE EDGEBOOT EDGE EDGE
>>28767530NTA but,>power liftgateI don't know about fords, but I've driven cars where you couldn't manually operate it>adaptive cruise control actually useful for commuting>lane assistI don't even get the point of it
Just drove my 8th gen trugg the other day. She's shifting nicely since my transmission service.
>>28767418Last Ford I drove was technically a Sterling and had a Cummins engine.
>>28767418I miss my Fords. I sold them seven years ago because moving abroad. The Fiesta ST was mine and Connect was my wife's. I like the cars I own now, but damn those were great cars.
>>28769313I had a black FiST as well, mine had grey wheels before I replaced them with aftermarket ones though. Good car and went almost 9 years with zero issues except one broken interior trim piece (which was cheap and easy to replace) but I was bored of it by the end and needed something bigger and better for snow, so it got replaced by the Ranger I have now.
>>28767418I'm thinking of getting a used Ford Ka from the early 2010's... is it reliable? I think it looks sweet, and it's cheap.
>>28767418funny you should askthe last time I drove a Ford was the well-maintained company Escape a few months ago when the transmission shit itself at 50k miles anyway
>>28769388Picrel it's not a ford KA,what is that
>>28769777Of course it's a Ford Ka, isn't it? The 2nd model, from the 2010's.
>>28767418Yeah my super duty is amazing. 2022 Lariat. Has all the climate and radio controls as physical switches, screen can be completely turned off while driving. Gobs of power with the 7.3.>>28768951All of this can be disabled by the end user.
04 4.6 Exploder with 200k miles+It just works.
>>28770780Why do Fords have two levels of reliability: Unkillable tank and dead within 3 years?
https://files.catbox.moe/45667z.mp4the 351w is my only friend in the whole world.
>>28767418No. Because they insist on locking all their cars' functions behind computer screens and then charging you luxury car prices for a piece of shit that breaks very easily. Ford is at the forefront of the iPhoneization of cars. They want shit to break, they want you to be unable to fix it, and they want you to bring it in for a servicing at $6000 a pop. Unironically better to buy an 80s Toyota.
>>28767418No, it's winter.
>>28770827Lol, my six year old expedition is nearing 100k on the odo, and if I have to replace one more fucking engine part before the new year, I'm renaming it Theseus.
>>28770827Tolerance stacking lottery
>>28767418Wouldn’t be caught dead in one
>>28768962BTRs are cheap but you oughtta fit up a ZF anyway
>>28772190I kinda want to pinch the bits out of a manual ba to not have to worry about an auto tranny.
>>28767418i drive my falcon ute to work every day :)
>>28767602they're multiplyingnot that that's a bad thing of course
>>28770611Where are you from?maybe you got a different ford KA than we did?never seen that car in my life
>>28772489as much as I miss my prelude I will probably hold onto this thing as long as it lives and get big all terrains once these tyres have gone.
>>28772542It's a pretty common car in Brazil.
>>28770827>Why do Fords have two levels of reliability: Unkillable tank and dead within 3 years?Anything from around 2000 or older has been through the wringer already and been durability tested to the max. So you know it's a good deal to buy it. Anything newer than that doesn't even pique my interest. I hate new shit. Mid 60's to 2000ish is my jam.
Yes, actually.Trying to find a V8+5speed fox body donor.
>>28772925For a long time, Ford trucks and larger SUVs were unkillable and their small cars were mediocre at best. That being said, my shitbox Escape with the Mazda engine was at 225k miles when I traded it in and still ran decent.
>>28770611>>28772542>>28772868Second generation had separate Euro and Lat Am versions.
>>28767418Just drove my FIL's Territory. It feels like a smaller car in a big(ger) chassis. Awful
>>28773150Every modern car is like this. The inside of a new Civic is super close to a 90s Civic, but the car has the footprint of an Explorer
>>28773157Weird thing is he used to have a 2017-18 Explorer and that thing, while large, felt like you were driving in the clouds. I'd hit 100+mph and it was nothing, not the slightest hint of a vibration anywhere. The Territory starts shaking and shitting itself like a zoomer at much lower speeds
>>28773198Fucked alignment? Old tires?
>>28773201I'll ask but I doubt it, he got it new last year and it doesn't get daily use so it shouldn't be TOO fucked
>>28773198The Territory is a 3rd world-only Ford built in the third world
>>28773273I am aware, yes, thank you oh lord american that can't name any cities beyond his shithole flyover drain on the economy state
>>28773376Any time, irrelevant brown person whose country I couldn't point to but we've probably bombed.
No my 04 Mustang is farting copious amounts of exhaust into the cabin like it's no ones business.I must wait for the snow to thaw
