is a used BMW i3 the BEST possible entry-level car right now?
I think it is.
>over-engineered in a good way
>runs on both gas and electric, doesn't care which you use
>used ones are cheap and ACTUALLY affordable even as someone who just started working
>interior is spacious and roomy
>suicide doors (lmao, seriously)
Honestly what's the downside to these? Looks? For entry-level cars or someone's first car that should be very low down on the list.
>>
maybe if you don't give a shit that your car looks retarded
>>
>>28767781
friend owned one. Super gay, but practical enough and seemed to drive fine. Very overpriced originally though, and repair costs are probably insane.
>>
>>28767785
entry-level.
Name another car where a clean used model goes for under 10k euros in Euroland or under 7k dollars in Burgerland.
In terms of an entry-level car, you get a LOT of bang for the buck here.
>>
>>28767790
I may have to spam 'entry-level' at every post since no one seems to be reading that part.
For a first car or a in-between car it's honestly perfect. (when bought used)
>>
>>28767791
Chevy Volt, which is also way more reliable
>>
>>28767781
No that's Kia Niro EV. Bulletproof gook stuff.
>>
>>28767797
>bulletproof
>gook
Bro if I could push a button that banned all 3 of the niggers spamming korean gookshit cars because they gooned to too much kpop, I would. Happily.
>>
>>28767794
Yeah that one seems pretty based too. (for a basic/cheap car)
The sticky is super-outdated. I think it needs to be remade with newer cars and prices. I think under $5k is too many shitboxes in 2025 (serious shitboxes not just memes)
>>
>>28767801
Look up the reliability data. It beats your Amerishit death box by every metric.
>>
>>28767806
how do I put this exactly... I don't care about indian, chink, or gook cars. All of their "reliability" is meaningless when the fit and finish is consistently shit and all of the parts from the car are sourced from china.
I'd rather talk about a fucking LS-swapped Holden than a $100k kiyundai-whatever.
Every post I see about them is lame fucking cope and cringe.
Go talk about it on reddit, maybe.
>>
>>28767812
>He thinks his Amerishit cars have somehow superior components than chinkshit
Don't look up reliability data comparing chink made Teslas compared to US made.
>>
>>28767818
see what's crazy is that I don't fucking care about gookmobiles
you can't make me care.
>>
>>28767791
but it still looks like shit. do you want to drive something that looks like shit?
>>
>>28767831
I'm thinking about the poorfags and young people on the board. Certainly you'd agree that there should be a car that a 16-20 year old can afford with a basic part-time job, yes?
>>
>>28767841
yes, but they also deserve better than this ugly thing
>>
>>28767781
>downside
The range sucks on the 60 and 94Ah models and the REx is just kind of ass, the 120Ah is a criminally underrated city car (it's very lightweight for an EV so it's much nicer to drive than you'd think) but those tend to run up in price, especially the i3s models.

The Dacia Spring? It's new too. Or the new Twingo with incentives.
>>
idk about yurop but in the us they destroyed the gasoline range on these by nerfing the software so it wouldn't charge at full capacity. all so they could be classified under carb rules as rev instead of phev. because of this they were also dangerously slow while using the range extender and there were even lawsuits about it.

BMW E90 with a bulletproof, n/a, inline-six engine.
>>
>>28767781
I was looking at one of these, considering buying it... and a few other tiny hybrids, too, but I think I'll settle on dat 'Lantruh I've been peepin'.

>>28767801
Oh, hi, I think you might be referring to me lol; here's my 2015 Hyundai Elantra SPORT thread (159k miles with a new engine):

Don't those have even worse ride quality compared to the regular i3?
>>
>>28767781
They're at least 5 years old now so by this point the battery it's on it's way out

Wouldn't trust the reliability of an indian motorcycle engine tbqh.

>MTG 154 Ah 54 kWh 248 miles (claimed)
>$5,800 (excl. shipping)
So basically you get a new battery, swap it in, discard the old one, and if the interior isn't fucked it's essentially a new car. Brakes and tires will be the only other wear parts. Engine doesn't need oil or have many moving parts, so that will easily go to 300,000m or more.
Downside?
>>
>>28768763
Wait till you open up one of those modules and see all those layered boards with coolant flowing in between them with no fail-safe whatsoever, you're always one failed o-ring away from disaster - in a bmw. Also ton of capacitors. Complexity is just crazy.
Didn't open up those on bmw's but on renault zoe which is simpler cheaper car also had some experience doing work with batteries, repacked battery on my old prius back in the day.
>>
>>28768768
It must be incredible work to seethe like a faggot all day at cars you can't afford.
>da O-rangs!
it's electric it doesn't have any, dumbass.
Post about how 'da rod bearing will fail' or your dumbass 2007-era 'everyone wants to work on a bmw blah blah blah' shit.
Fuck off.
>>
>>28768768
>the electric engine coolant
ah yes and it'll be leaking oil soon too, right anon?
>>
>>28768769
>seethe like a faggot all day at cars you can't afford.
Wasted bait, have tesla 3 long range and diesel double cab hilux.
My dream cars would be actually cheaper ones - chevy caprice ppv and suzuki samurai but caprice is unobtainium since eu, samurai - I don't have back for it anymore.
>>28768770
also weak 2/10 bait.

i remember being interested in this car as a daily driver. cause its small and hybrid which makes it invisible to people.
>85,000$
yea go fuck yourself
>>
>>28767781
Just get a Kia Piccanto and stfu. Hybrids are cancer and everyone will just think you're cheap.
