I got job offer in company that focuses on rebuilding classic defenders, from scrap. They make their own frames, own chassis, starting to get into making their own parts. Own painting chambers, own CNC stuff etc. Sales position.

They orginate from rallies like Dakkar, Baja etc.
They have already rebuild some for Jordania, Dubai, USA, Spain and UK. They want to expand. Would see whole world with them.

It's exciting as fuck but on the other hand question of company stability with something so niche, whats your opinion guys? Fuck it all and give it a try?

What have these got different to an Ineos?

1) It's still Defender
2) Interior can be upgraded to 2025 specs, can be make into kitchen at back. Whatever client fantasy is. Seats etc. can be also whatever the client fantasy its.
Basically can gets as premium as it gets.
3) Standard rebuild is easier adn cheaper - chassis avaiable of stock, frames and seating which will make total rebuilt cheaper than buying new Ineos.
4) Value Appreciation
5) Nostalgia

to ineos I would say warranty, dealer support. Parts access no longer is a problem, as the company wants to make their own parts, basically no looking for donor organs. Parts avaiabile of the shelf too.
Can be build into off road vehicle or luxury as fuck (for eg. what went to Dubai).

>Parts access no longer is a problem,

As a thirdie I just go on paddock spares and they send me the shit. And a good portion of it is surprisingly cheap.

£3.50 (before shipping and handling of course) for a tail light housing is amazingly cheap

Yeah do it, the market is still buoyant. If it slows down classic RRs are the new hot thing (see Kingsley, Overfinch etc).

I think I will give it a shot. Leave my boring work and try this as kind of adventure. Although they pay better than my boring job.

Also beacuse of making completely new chasis and frames as standard they also want make connections with workshop which specialize in rebuilding defenders and offer them ready chassis etc. So no fucking around with rust, sandblasting, fighting rust etc. Just scrap it and put a new one in client wished colour.

Assuming the pay plan is on more than draw or commission, I think it's a good opportunity to do something interesting with things you care about. If it's draw or commission based without a base salary, run away, because they're just trying to pump you for leads for 6 months until you quit over not getting any chances to make actual money

I'm based in Poland, base salary is stupid good (on pair with IT) + commisions.
It's build by passionates for passionates
>>
i personally don't see how this company will really survive with the ineos grenadier existing and not really doing all that well itself, but if the pay is good then i'd do it. it'll look good on a resume too.

Its owned by milionere who made 350mil+ company and sold it to US to have fun and pursuit racing and doing what he loves.
>>
look for a way out if something happens to your base, otherwise looks fun

What do you have to loose? Are you leaving a well paying job that you are bored of?

Signed the papers today.
I leave well paid job ultimately boring after years - yes. But the base pay here is the same as there and commisions are multiple times bigger.
