Im a broke eastern yuropoor in need of a cheap car. How bad are russian cars? I dont give a fuck about comfort, speed or cool features, I just need somethig that drives. Considering a Volga or a Lada Samara specifically
>>28769232>russian cars
enjoy your rust bomb
Early Sputniks/Samaras with fuel injection were iffy, carbed ones were mostly okay.Volgas are magnifficent cars, but really expensive to drive and maintain, not a cheap car in the slightest plus they're all kinda long in the tooth by now.If possible, get a Skoda Felicia with the 1.3 litre pushrod engine. Will run practically forever on hopes and prayers, very economical, very reliable. It's the very epitome of an A to B shitbox and will outlive toyotas of the era.
>>28769232>How bad are russian cars?Worse than you could possibly imagine, especially now that their best and brightest have fled the country or been turned into mince in Ukraine.
>>28769362Jesus I want one so bad, but only the germoid shitskins get them for some reason
>>28769365>i want a literal piece of shit
>>28769356>Volgas are magnifficent cars, but really expensive to drive and maintain, not a cheap car in the slightest plus they're all kinda long in the tooth by now.aside from fuel consumption whats expensive about them? theyre just basic bitch carbureted 4 cylinder turds
>>28769427No, I want an Uaz Buhanka and one day I will get one, old or new.>>28769436Especially if considering a carbed Volga, they have drum brakes all around and use BSK instead of dot fluid, which can be converted if you get new seals. Parts for them are starting to get expensive due to their collector/classic status, not impossible to find, but expensive and kinda difficult. If you're willing to put in the work, a Volga is dailyable, but not wrenchlet friendly, same with any classic car really.
>>28769470>and use BSK instead of dot fluidIm pretty sure they can take dot fluids just fine, late model volga use that from the factory and their brake system are barely any different a part from disc front brakes>Parts for them are starting to get expensive due to their collector/classic status, not impossible to find, but expensive and kinda difficultIn Binland maybe, in Russia there are loads of them because it shares a lot of parts with the Gazelle, and thats one of the most widespread cargo vans in Russia
>>28769232Buy a Corolla.
>>28769470>and one day I will get one, old or newfor you own sake, get an old onethey're only going to get worse
>>28769232If your choice is bus or a lada take the busSure you might get stabbed but its easier to treat a stab wound than to daily a lada in 2025 ad
Just buy a VAG
>>28769487OP said he's eastern european, not Russian. Europe has forced pretty much all of its member states to close all traffic to and from Russia.>>28769935I daily a Lada in 2025 and have no issues with it, more reliable than public transport which is not a thing where I live.
>>28769232>broke>eastern europebuy a dacia or an old german car with 5 gorillion km on board
>>28770192>old german car with 5 gorillion km on boardno thanks I already experienced the pleasure of owning a cheap rusty e36-it all ended when the rear suframe separated from the body and I had to sell it for like 1/5 its price as a parts car. never again
>>28770215the secret is to buy it from a med country where it doesnt snow and they dont rust as hard.
>>28770220>the secret is to buy it from a med countrysuch cars dont exist here and even if they do they cost way too much
>>28770232they might not be as prevalent and you might have to scour autoscout for a few months to find them but they do pop up from time to time. The other options for broke people are dacia, skoda, renault, stuff that was cheap when new and is even cheaper when used, with the added bonus that the parts are also cheaper than for nicer brands.I dailyed a 2005 Renault Megane for 5 years and other than the lack of android auto it was good, didnt have much trouble with it.
>>28769232Get a motorcycle or scooter. Way cheaper.
>>28770742and what am I supposed to do when it snows, retard?
>>28769232Russian cars are goyslop incarnate. Import a ford crown victoria.
>>28770192Hmm, true, Dacias aren't too shitty reliability wise.
>>28771441Even if they break the parts are dirt cheap but the more recent ones that use renault engines are somewhat reliable.
