Post and discuss automobiles made in the past 10 years that you blieve will become prized classics that people will lust after in the future, try to abstain from obvious choices such as exclusive supercars and extremely low production models.
>>
Most automobiles made in the last 10 years won't last long enough to become classics. Lots of proprietary, closed-source computer equipment that needs to phone home or the car's an expensive-ass paperweight.

There are none, maybe one of the $20M Ferraris or Bugattis but I don't think so, collectible cars are exclusively good looking and nothing is good looking now.
Get a Periscopo for $500k, they will go up.

Renault never has and never will build anything worth a shit. Why are you French faggots so insufferable?
>>

Camaros in general but particularly the SS. Fast, relatively simple, front engine RWD with a LS V8. Probably the best Camaro GM ever made.
>>
>>28772415
No Renault is worth anything, not even the movie stars.

Not him, but:
>Front engine RWD V8 Muscle Car
just means there's gonna be 100,000,000 people who'll really want one come ten years time. Especially since the Mustang of 2035 will likely cost $150,000 if you want a proper V8.
>>
This fucking thing is practically collectable right now at the rate of clout chasing, good fucking luck finding a nice non wrecked, non preciously blown up, unmodified 1st gen BRZ, you're better off just buying a brand new one because the car attracts shitheads.

I think if a car achieves classic status there's a good chance its manufacturer will make parts to support the scene. That is assuming the manufacturer survives and has the capacity to do that kind of thing.
>>
>>28772437
Mmmm...maybe you are correct, sir, you are making sense.
>>
>>28772440
I don't know Anon, we don't have the amount of reproduction parts as the boomer cars in the aftermarket, even with a 90s Jap car from the good old days that everyone loves, you're dependent on the community having parts for you to buy or the junkyard, that's why it's really not worth it to fix a clapped piece of shit over buying a nice one, the baby boom booms could literally save a literal shell they found in the junkyard because the aftermarket exists to rebuild the whole fucking car from whatever metal you need, to body, panels, etc.

>>28772437
Kek imagine telling some guy in 1995 with a brand new D16 Civic EX, "hey you should keep this mf waxed and out of the sun, all the papers with it and everyone will love it" He'd think you're nuts because everybody is copping Civics and there's only 6 million of them so it's not special.

This, young people are used to F-body GM cars being rare and classical, but they were literally common cars owned by young men, which they modified, painted, raced, wrecked, got destroyed by the elements, you name it to the point where there isn't much left.

There's gonna come a point where we're old men watching takeover videos, thinking "Damn these YNs didn't even know what they had with that 392 shit pack, and they wrecked it"

This too, even in non sports car applications, even the normies are gonna realize, holy that those 2GR/2AR Toyotas, those J/K series Honda cars and trucks without a cringe turbo are the greatest cars ever made and they're gonna be crying in the service department over a blown 3.4L Toyota or 1.5L Honda turbo engine, while some chad with a 2006 Civic is not having these problems.

Should include the E60/E61 M5 and E63/E64 M6. V10 engines are extinct. Even the SMG cars are slowly going up in value. DCT and manual swaps are now possible on the car. Would also include the i8 as well.

Pretty much any V8 period.

This is a good answer just because there is literally nothing else in its design class besides a porsche. Can still get 928's for cheap but they also need expensive parts.
I was exactly at the point you're mentioning, as a kid in HS i really wanted a BRZ. They were overpriced every time I looked, until in 2024 I just bought a brand new one.

>>28774455
Its just a low quality car you could get brand new from a dealer for 10k under MSRP. Also no manuals in the US.

>>28775513
Demand just isn't there. XK8 can also be found for cheap today, no one wants one. I had an XJS a few years ago and droped a ton of time and money into making it reliable. New fuel lines, harness, X pipe to connect both engine banks, emerald ECU, T56 swap, just the works. It doesn't change the fact these cars look mindbendingly awesome and refined but feel terrible to drive. In 25 years, these f types will be driven by poor beaners and idiots with giant repair bills and dead cars.

People might not agree, but I feel that S Classes and other large premium sedans tend to have something of an appeal, so I would say that. Also, Corvettes, Vipers, Lotus Elise and Exige, maybe the Fiat 124 Spider, maybe the Jaguar XKR, maybe the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and maybe the Honda S2000. If we are talking about shitboxes, then Panda, Zhiguli, Volga, Damas, Twingo, Smart, nu-Mini and nu-Beetle. Maybes are HHR, SSR, PT Cruiser, Prowler, Nu-500.

I have my doubts about everything else, simply because the FR-S/BRZ/86, Genesis Coupe, Tiburon, nu-Type Rs, SIs, Velosters, Celicas, Neon SRT-4s, et al. With maybe the exception of 90s/00s WRXs are rice rockets. And personally, I don't foresee a lot of people wanted them down the line. They will be drift-missiled or curbed or wrapped around a tree and that will be it.

> But reliability has nothing to do with being a future classic
This is a terrible take. An rx-7 is lightweight, has a great suspension, basically competed with an NSX despite being much cheaper, but you could find them for $3k while the cheapest r32 only ever dipped to $10k.
Now all the other JDM legends are ridiculously expensive while the rx-7 remains affordable. And it’s all because people are scared of the engine.

you don't know what you're talking about. if you can find me a running FD under 20k I'll buy it right now. FDs (which is the gen you would be referring to in the same breath as the NSX) have never been cheap, and they certainly aren't now. they will always be classic because they're fast and look amazing, and for some people the dorito engine is actually a benefit and not a drawback.
