Why aren't we allowed to have these things in the United States? V8 Turbo diesel, manual transfer case, manual locking hubs, manual transmission.
>>
What's the closest thing to something like this in Diesel and either auto/manual transmission?

Emissions. Crash safety. The big 3 lobbying so they don't have to compete with it.
>>
something about safety standards idk
>>
Why would you want them when you can buy better trucks for far less.

You really think people are going to drop $100k+ on that instead of a $100k luxury trim pickup truck that makes twice the HP and torque?
>>

Toyota memery aside, this a very valid point. Just about any half ton on the market is going to have better towing and payload than the 70 series. Having said that, I would have no intention of using one for work and wish they were sold here in the states.

Also wtf is this new captcha bullshit

Even as just a show truck, it’s incredibly ugly compared to obs fords, square body GMA, and classic rams.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I still want a LandCruiser Troopy to take camping and what have you. Plenty of room for gear and I think they look neat. Still very hard to justify one for what they’re asking for them.

The obs fords, square body gms, rangers, even Toyota and Nissan themselves sold 4x4s that not the op for less than half the price for the best running example.

Americans are truly spoiled for truck choice. Imaging wanting drop 100k on the op. You could build a rock climber or Baja trophy truck for less.

can't bring the diesel because it costs a gorillion dollars to get it EPA certified. you can buy one that's 20 years old though, you see them on BAT all the time

Its crazy how america is the world hegemon but its citizens are more provincial than anyone else.
The US gets nothing good.

Australians have convinced themselves it's a status symbol, and project that culture onto everyone else and then act indignant when we don't share their view. the LC70 is their cultural equivalent to a Cowboy Cadillac F250 Lariat, nobody who buys those Toyotas actually uses them for work anymore because they're too expensive and are underpowered. There's a reason why there are companies springing up left and right to import American fullsize trucks again, because the people who actually need HD towing and hauling capacity will buy what is actually capable of doing it. which drives the LC70 cult absolutely mad (no doubt they're responsible for a significant amount of the 'trugg' shitposting on /o/).

the V8 is gone and replaced with a 2.8 inline 4 now.
>>
>>28775275
You're completely wrong.

They're just used as offroad vehicles here, having it as a work ute is just for tax purposes when tradies can use a small cabover or a hilux
