I saw one of these the other day with a "sport" badge and "sport" plate frame.

Fucking really? Someone went out of their way to put "sporty" demarcation on this morbidly obese, retarded, ugly, center of gravity in the stratosphere, grandma hauler piece of shit?

I hate these lil niggas like you wouldn't believe. It's the apex "I don't care about driving" vehicle for normtards who merge onto the highway at 45mph and brake for every minor curve in the road. Seeing "sport" on this piece of shit is borderline insulting to a car enthusiast

Shut up, retard

do you have one of those?

Okay ben shapiro, it's "sport", which is just marketing. If you really want to be pedantic, this piece of shit is not a body on frame vehicle, meaning it's a crossover, not a real SUV, so no "sport" anyways.

Even if it were an actual SUV, the "sport" trim tunes the car for performance driving instead of offroading. The intention with this trim is performance driving and there is NOTHING sporty about a 4000lb car and the ride height that it has. QED

You know it's not 1980, right? If SUV's can't handle why is a 5500lb Jeep faster around a track than actual sports cars that weigh half as much?
>>
>>28773175
Does that happen? That'd be news to me, but depends on the track and the sports cars you're comparing it to, I guess. Do you have a specific example?

https://fastestlaps.com/tracks/vairano-handling-course
This was the closest I could find on a handling focused track, and the 5500lb jeep is in the bottom 8%. This is the cherokee SRT 8, which I assume is what you're talking about. It's also in the bottom ~7% for the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours Club.

Suv's what?

Okay, which track is that?
>>
>>28773290
VIR. It's a relevant track and not some stupid euro track that American cars aren't even allowed on.

This must be what you're referencing
You gorilla ape, look at the number of straights that this course has. It tests acceleration in a straight line more than handling. In a straight line, of course a V8 with a turbo and AWD will beat a 4pot, naturally aspirated, rwd Lotus that's 12 years older than it.

The heart of this debate is my claim that SUVs have inferior handling, and therefore deliberately embellishing one's plush grandma hauler with "sport" marcations is specious. By fundamental physics, heavier cars with higher centers of gravity have inferior handling. I don't care how fast they go in a straight line, that's not interesting any more (every soccer mom EV accelerates fast), and that's not handling. My point still stands lil nigga QED BTFO etc etc

Anon...
Plenty of turns of all kinds
>>
>>28773373
Lots of long straights on that, chap. There are some turns, but a lot of the course is straight or mostly straight https://youtu.be/AUBV-gToJOQ

Unless you have a fundamental argument for higher weight and ride height being beneficial for handling, I'm gonna assume you're trolling

Saw a video where a porschefag was talking about his porsches. Literally the only details he would mention about any of them were the upcharge trim pieces he paid for.
>>
At a certain point, trims became "pay 20-40% more for badges" instead.

That grill is so repulsive it makes me want to puke
>>
>>28773361
Okay and the "cruisecontrolring" doesn't have any straights? So what if you took a funny car to that same track? Would it set the lap record just because it has 8000hp?
>>
>>28773704
You're trying compare the Jeep to cars with less than 300hp to try to make your retarded disingenuous point. If you compared it to a 700hp car it wouldn't be close.
