evening autobots. I like cars but am a complete wrenchlet. I am currently saving up for an NB miata and would hope for it to eventually look like picrel. It would be my first modified car. Do i order the parts and have a mechanic fit everything? is this a do at home job? Myself nor parents have any tools for mechanics. any other advice/comments would be appreciated.

Wrenchlet, ricer
>>
>they've started in NBs
I guess NCs are goofy looking enough to be safe for now

utter faggot

That piece of shit 2009-era rice mobile requires basically no skill to reproduce. That was the whole methodology behind clubroadster.net where those "builds" were popular. $400 set of coil overs, spin the spring perches down until it sits on the frame rails, tacky low-offset wheels and roll the fenders. The picture you posed included the generic front lip to make it look even lower. Rides like shit, handles like shit, destroys the shell of the car and grinds pieces of the subframe off. If those retards could pull it off back then I have faith a faggot like OP could do the same.
>>
>>28773115
That's the OEM Sport front lip, just not paint matched
>>
>>28773137
I can assure you on a "build" like the OP it's an Ebay knock off. Same deal as the NAs running around with R Package lips. Some of the knock offs were actually decent as they were a rubbery material rather than plastic so they took hits easier.
>>
>>28773037
>Do i order the parts and have a mechanic fit everything?
If you hate having money.
>>
>>28773137
It's clearly got an aftermarket splitter screwed on.
>>
>>28773154
He's buying a car just to ruin it, so he probably does.
>>
>>28773054
Stupid shit like that OP picture will never not be gay.
>>
>>28773115
budget for mods would be around £5k which i believe is enough for decent quality parts. trying to keep the total cost around/under £10k.

What kind of mental derangement leads to ricers? Like genuinely? At least the tuner era had some creativity even if it was still poser fag gaudy shit, but modern day rice is the gayest, most pederast attracting form of vehicle vandalism you can commit. Fuck you OP and all other niggerfaggots that have ruined countless perfectly fine car in the pursuit of trash like this.
>>
>>28773326
>>28773326
starts off by dad being a ricer himself, he uses rice tactics to attract a female, they breed, the kids automatically a ricer. the real problem is the women who dont reject this shit, if women would stop fucking ricers there would be no ricer kids.
>>
>>28773331
Parents don't drive.
>>
>>28773316
Cope, swarthy faggot.
>>
>>28773267
Expect to pay several thousand in labor for a shop to replace all your suspension parts.
>>
>>28773267
What I'm saying is it doesn't matter what your budget is for that outcome. Ohlins, Xidas, or $500 junk will do basically the same thing. Sit it on the frame, go buy racelands. You'll have literally zero bump travel and the suspension essentially doesn't exist. Thus there's basically no cost concern, damping doesn't matter, spring rate hardly matters, etc. All it takes to produce that look is a coilover setup that you can lower the perch down enough. The 99.9% of all slammed NA/NB miata "builds" was this formula with XXR wheels, usually 15x8 zero offset with a 195/185 all season tire. The more correct way to produce that look is with air suspension. Much higher cost, requires actual fab work. Most of the slammed community was broke kids, that was the whole appeal. Static ride height dragging frame rails back when racelands were $350. Budget a grand for wheels and tires, $150 ebay lip - I lived through that whole era. Kids took the helper springs out of racelands back then for "teh lowz". Most of the "ricer" stuff, slammed stuff, etc all follows that cheapo knock-off formula as it's designed for kids with no money. That basic formula in the OP can be duplicated buying an NB, buying $500 in coilovers and dumping them all the way down, $1500-ish in wheels and tires. Roll the inner fender with a baseball bat or pipe, and since the car sits on the bumpstops just accept you'll slam the tires into the fenders occasionally. That nonsense was all the rage 15 years ago. Be aware if you're going to run that low to disable the air bags as they can deploy hitting manhole covers and such. Ideally you want to raise the engine up and add an oil pan skid plate, which most of the dumb kids didn't do.
>>
>>28773367
You can do it yourself easily.
>>
>>28773316
Is that the face you'll be making when you bust your oil pan?
>>
>>28773419
OP is asking about paying a shop to do this for him.
>>
>>28773468
He's asking if he should have a shop do it for him
>>
>>28773037
so my advice would be is to try and do it yourself if you have space to work on a car.
from the picture i can see this "build" consists of
>Coils
>Rims
>Lip and sideskirts.
while saving up for the car I think you should get a set of sockets, a set of spanners, floor jack and jackstands.
never worked on an mx5 but i believe these tools should suffice to make this kind of build at home.

NBs are very reliable
>>
i had an NA6 from age 17-23

15 inch wheels
coil overs
Hard top
S13 turbo and custom manifold
DIY AutoTune PnP ECU
150HP ATW

best little car

>>28773897
what about things like alignment and what not? Once ive gotten the work done to the car i would then see to getting into mechanics myself and buying tools etc but given i have no experience with this before I'd rather have it done properly and then learn the skills after to be more independent.
>>
>>28774218
You want to fuck your suspension so your car scrapes on the ground, and you're worried about alignment? Fucking kek.
>I'd rather have it done properly
>i have no experience with this before
Pottery
>>
>>28774240
why is installing coilovers and being concerned with alignment antithetical?

The coilovers themselves aren't the problem, it's the "wanting coilovers purely to slam the car on the ground" that is. If you look at actual track prepped Miatas, you might notice they have a little bit of ground clearance, they're not dragging their subframes on the ground.

Watched a vw gulf bounce along the 408 in Orlando at 65mph last night. The road surface is poured in sections so it has this consistent wavy surface. The rear tires spent half the time airborne. I imagine the drivers of these vehicles step out with their brains scrambled and spine compressed.
>>
>>28773478
Right, and I'm saying he shouldn't unless he likes not having any money.
>>
>>28774422
He's a dumb ricer wrenchlet, why do you waste breath trying to explain these things to the eternally faggot cock-loving OP?
Let him slap some Amazon rice mods on his pile of shit NB and figure out why we don't daily cars whose oil sumps are one pothole away from locking the engine. There's a reason ricers are a dying breed and we only need to cement it by encouraging OP, not warning him of this degenerate wants.
>>
>>28774472
Trying to save the poor NB here, not OP.
>>
>>28774475
I applaud the effort but OP has sucked so much semen from his fellow JDM ricers at the local meet that the unfortunate NB he happens on is guaranteed to be fucked with. At least we can hope hes some poor brownoid and he buys one that has already been clapped beyond recognition.
>>
>>28774475

Correct. Nobody cares about ruining cars with slamming them IF they have no other value. Go slam 2012 Hyundai Sonatas and nobody cares.

Definitely better, though I have mine a bit higher (OEM 04-05 mazdaspeed springs on Konis) and still scrape sometimes.

If you had posted this instead of the ricer shit at the start we wouldn't of spent the entire thread calling you a faggot. Much more tasteful.

This is the lowest I could get my car without scraping the wheel arch liners at full compression. MeisterR Zeta CRD coilovers. I will also sometimes just barely scrape the more aggressive speed bumps I encounter, so I don't really don't think I could get any lower.

you and OP aren't too far away
>>

i holehardedly agree saytan
>>
>>28774386
It's not the coilovers, you retard. It's the fact that you want to utterly fuck your suspension geometry just to look like a retard, but you're ironically concerned about proper alignment.
>>
>>28774616
Yea you would've. You're transparently a shitposter.

i tried but on the test i couldn't balance. instructor said he had never seen someone struggle as much as me. asked if i have dyspraxia also
