NARPs welcome
News:
>New Compact Crossover coming.
>Gaymen electric may be reengineered for gas engine. Which is odd. The old gaymen was MMB like the 911. The new Caymen is supposed to be pure electric. I have had strong suspension that ‘new’ platform is more like the 944/968 ‘new’ platform and that the Taycan is really a modified Panamera and this new electric Caymen is just a modified MMB.
>Cayenne and Panamera will continue on into the next decade
>911 Turbo S coming in 2026 will be hybrid, 700hp

Post your Porsche and your rennbow and why you picked it.
Mods have confirmed they will ban any BMW posting.

I just watched an in-depth video of the new turbo s and its new e-turbocharger technology.
Amazing tech that completely eliminates turbo lag.
But guess what? It’s heavier. Last thing we need is more weight

BMW been working on the same thing for like 15 years. It’s really there for regulations. Can’t imagine any white Porsche owners are looking at it and thinking ‘I need the new one’.
I’m more interested in a 968 or 944 than a 992.2 the way things are going. Really annoyed by how bad Porsche has been supporting hybrids outside of warranty to. Which is basically to say that they are doing the bare minimum the gov is making them do and they’re not interested in making their hybrids work for more than 8 years.
>>
>>28773627
It's even better than that. Eliminating turbo lag is honestly the least interesting thing it does -- it can actually net harvest energy off the exhaust and use that to drive the front electric motors and generate even more horsepower that way. A regular turbo harvests exhaust energy and turns 100% of that into compression for intake, but on full throttle there's a ton of exhaust energy but the marginal power on additional compression is fairly minor. The e-turbo harvests the same exhaust energy, turns it all into electricity, then spends some of that electricity on compression and the rest on the front motors split up to achieve maximum horsepower instead of spending it all in one spot and suffering diminishing returns.

I hate to be that guy because I like the hybrid Panameras but as great as they are brand new it’s just a mess to keep running with failures starting at $60k and repairs being $5k-$30k. I’ve never met a Porsche hybrid owner who didn’t say ‘it’s fun but I would just get the S next time’
>>
>>28773638
Nah that's a totally fair take. Impressive engineering feats like what the e-turbo does making better use of waste energy than a traditional turbo does is cool as hell, but if the car isn't reliable then it doesn't really matter.
>>
>>28773646
Something like 87% of every car Porsche ever built is still on the road somewhere.
It’s very frustrating to see them now building cars that don’t live up to that standard. Just have to bear in mind that they do it because the government is forcing them. As cool as a Turbo S E-hybrid is, it’s only got an 8 year lifespan unless you are willing to spend $40k on a surprise hybrid failure and that’s if Porsche still is offering parts and I very much doubt hybrid battery tech from 2015 will be produced!for very long.

I saw a few videos of suspension work and it's surprisingly simple under there, at least compared to dogshit like Mercedes and Audi. That alone makes me want to buy and keep it for as long as I can.

here's my NARP

i am trying to figure out if i upgrade to a 991.2 GT3 or a GT4RS but having them tried both i lean toward the latter, especially because all the GT3 inputs feel gay and sedan-ish, whereas the 4RS is literally my car with the big boy engine, i'd lose the manual tho.

To me it's yellow and green ones. I wish to get one painted in forest green or yellow one day because they look really cool irl. Unfortunately most cars available here are only painted in silver or black, which are basically npc tier colors. They may mean better resale value and lower insurance cost, but they just don't feel anything special when you look at one.

The Cayenne GTS is due for new tires. Been using Pirelli Scorpion all seasons, but was considering Pilot Sport All Season 4. In CA so not worried about snow.

however, ehh Porsche is Porsche

I have the scorpions and I think they’re better in the snow then the AS4s but the AS4s will be better as they are basically PS4S below 60 mph and only start to have less performance above 60, and where you going to be turning at a speed over 60mph?

early taycan had lots of gremlins mainly relating to the battery, things that seem to have been addressed in later model years
but that bad reputation will haunt the taycan for years to come, which means bad news for new buyers and great news for people looking into getting a second hand one
In my neck of the woods that means you can get a '23 taycan with 30k Kms for less than half of what it sold for two years ago

911s and porsches in general are not cool anymore. I'm sorry for whatever happened during covid and after, but the brand is now ruined for a while. And specifically ruined by the type of person that is i to the brand right now. Basically the bmw ending.
>>
>>28782352
Boomers ran the brand into the ground with their air cooled fetish.
>>
>>28782352
>can't enjoy something because the wrong clique enjoys it
good thing high schoolers like you can't afford porsches then
>>
>>28782362
It blew up among the most obnoxious crowd - the newrich, crypto shitcoin lottery winner, ""entrepreneur"", trust fund kiddie and worst of all old money larp youth. They all got in a two year line for a 992 and by the time they took delivery the brands rep as well as second hand market even for cool stuff like 993 was a fucking wasteland. You can pretend otherwise, but driving a porsche is more embarrassing than driving a maybach or a gwagon. They pander and attract the same tier of niggerbrained newmoney retards that don't care that a c63amg now comes with a 2.0 4 cylinder because it has 17 screens and ambient lights.
>>
>>28782453
Poorfag projection kek
No one buys the 4 cylinder c63 btw
>>
>>28782465
Oh have I mentioned that the vast majority of new porsches are now being bought by people who can't afford them? Like literally sinking 50%+ of their NW into a fucking car then pretending every one else is a poorfag. Sound familiar?
The actual list of people who "need to make a 3k montly loss for tax reasons and also need a sports car" is so small and stealth, but you keep puffing your chest while also being overleveraged to the tits.

Maybe the vast majority of 911 special editions ie, GT3, ST, Turbo S. There’s a delusional idea that these models will grow in value and so a loan is totally safe.
>>28782479
The average Panamera owner makes $800k a year. The average Macan buyer makes $350k a year. It’s just laughable how sour grapes this board is.
Newsflash; boomers are rich and they are hoarding all the jobs and money from youth and offshoring the ‘ladder’ that they climbed to get there. Look it up. Basic economics. Look up greatest wealth transfer in history that’s theoretically coming as they die off too. Though don’t kid yourself it will all evaporate into nursing home bills and medical expenses keeping them alive to 100 despite decades of UV exposure, alcoholism, obesity, and smoking.
Regardless you got to just accept that people with money exist in the age brackets than use /o/.

I do agree with the sentiment that nu-money faggots are ‘speed running’ car culture and buying all these special edition 911s just to flex and it’s extremely cringe and bad for the brand even if it’s the only thing keeping Porsche alive as a company right now.

There's no way that ST is worth 1m. Not even in Canadian dollars.

He got meme’d on. I enjoy that channel btw. Little British lad interviews car owners and lets them talk. Lots of the serious car people own interesting stuff and know all about the car and have some technical knowledge. Then you get guys like this S/T owner who spent big money but can only tell you about the color and the ‘vibe’ of the name plate. ‘I spent a million dollars bc I wanted to feel like a race car!’
The Cup is way cheaper and is a real race car bro.
