Keen on getting a classic car but I live in Australia and we regularly see 40+ degree (104+ F) days where I live, and on top of that traffic is often obscene which compounds overheating issues in cars. I suffer a lot with my aircooled motorbike. Was wondering if anyone can recommend some classic daily driver type cars that work well in extreme heat.

>>28775064Sort of depends on the car, the other adjustments and mods people have suggested tend to sort out the worst of it in peak summer here. A lot of the Fords and Holdens from the early to late 70's are good for that as there's well developed support for them in terms of stuff like radiators, thermo fans and stuff. They're also dumb and easy to work on, in saying that OEM or replacement parts are kind of pricey and you sort of end up using a lot of aftermarket gear because its just available.Which may be a crime against classics in some circles, but fuck em. Do what you want.In terms of DD'ing an older car, it does come with some costs in wear and tear, along with a lot of them not having AC. Which isn't much fun with vinyl seats and chrome belt locks branding you if they've been in the sun heating up

May as well keep the new buckles as well on them and just squirrel the old ones away if someone 'really' wants the O-shaped burn marks on their meat bits.Also quite a few options out there now for under-dash AC units which aren't too bad, or at least better than crippling dehydration

>>28775204The only real solution I've seen that works is off the roof-rail above the windows and its a bit of engineering to make the mounts up there strong enough. It is fairly intrusive I guess in terms of pulling shit out, welding, new roof liner and paint tidy up. Problem with the lap-sash is that it does kind of need to be higher than shoulder height or it'll twist and compress your spine at the same time, the full harness isn't so dependent on that factor with the right seating. But they also need a lot more setting up and if not worn properly with it all buttoned up they're no good either + complete pain in the arse to put on, take off all the time.
XC higher trims through to XE higher trims, they have the larger radiator.

Don't run it on LPG. That is a classic for overheating issues.I knew someone who used to work outback on stations and he diesel swapped something like pic related.

Larger radiator, lower temp thermostat, and because classics all use clutch fans just get a newer blade design for greater airflow.All the overheating issues of classic cars are because they are running old radiators full of rust.
