I got completely caught up with all my projects and been having fun dialing in the tune on my aftermarket ecu after throwing in bigger snails and squirters. Very pleased with my new billet transfer case and the end results of modifying my extended baffeled oil pan to properly clear the exhaust down pipe. Overall 10/10 fun year. >t. The Daily for a decade is now pro/demoted to the 2nd car because too many ask too many questions when im in the middle of shit so I can't get shit done.

Thanks for the content this year gentlemen!Over the summer I attempted to do all of the major (and minor) maintenance items myself on my newly acquired 93’ NSX. It has 50k miles on it and was only lightly driven the last decade. Timing belt, water pump, fuel hoses, every gasket, 26 coolant hoses, cam plugs/caps, LMAs, etc, etc. - all without dropping the engine. Quite the nerve wracking experience, was worried about denting the car the whole time and was a total back/leg killer being hunched over for like 30 hours. The timing belt was uhh, “interesting”. It consisted of like 4 hours aligning timing marks via. looking at a few small mirrors at many different angles. I walked away from this experience knowing the definition of “parallax”.TLDR; started up first attempt without hesitation, no leaks, no issues many redlines and months down the road. Mission accomplished.A few weeks back I ended up with a 93 Ranger for cheap.newdaily.jpgI’ve been wrenching on it over the last few days and it’s hilarious how much more enjoyable it is to wrench on in comparison. 5 easy coolant hoses, timing belt takes like an hour, doesn’t matter if you get it wrong since it’s non-interference, etc, etc. tldr; it’s easier, cheaper and more enjoyable to work on a Ford Ranger over an NSX. Who knew?

So far I've replaced the starter and rebuilt the original fuel pump with new gaskets and valves, which was enough to get it running, only to discover the front main seal needs replacing. Huge pain in the ass job because the accessory belts, water pump, fuel pump, power steering pump, and distributor have to come off just to get the timing cover removed to drive the seal in from behind. Going to service the oil pump and replace the timing gear set while I'm in there. Fingers crossed that's all it needs to get it moving. Then it's on to tires and wiring.I like having something to work on, but I am never buying a car online from out of state again.
