2013 Nissan murano about 210k miles.I drove down to my parents (about 3 hours) last night just to stay for Christmas morning then head home. Today I stopped to get gas at the local 7-11 before heading back up, but 2 minutes after leaving my engine starts chugging (or knocking, idk the best sound to describe it) so I pull over. I did my own oil change a few days ago so I wait 10 minutes for the oil to settle then check the dipstick, seems like the oil is fine. I head back to my parents cause I only made it a few minutes away, the check engine is flashing yellow, and the car doesn't want to accelerate past around 35mph and continues chugging. I had a similar issue a year ago and I paid a mechanic around 2k for a new radiator and spark plugs and to test it all and it ran fine after that until now. When I got back to my parents I realized the coolant reservoir was empty so I filled it back up and ran it again. There was still knocking but at least the check engine light is now solid yellow instead of flashing. My dad said he has an engine diagnostic tool and it came back for misfire 4. I'm retarded and don't know if that's the specific cylinder that's misfiring or if that's the code for what type of misfire it is. Nothing around here was open today so I'm going to call around tomorrow morning and ask for some quotes about how much it would be to fix. I managed to save up around 3k in my bank account. Used cars are very expensive around Portland oregon. Also both my gf and myself don't want to wait if it's going to take multiple days to get home, we didn't pack much. Is there any hopeium for things going easy tomorrow or am I "cooked."
Cylinder misfire #4 means cylinder number 4 has a misfire. Its probably just a coil. But reading the rest of your story you seem like a fucking retard who does fuck all maintenance and you're retarded, so I hope you get raped by your mechanic.
>>28781081Dr. Forrester had a hard life.
Take it to MPH specialties
>>28781081Love it or hate it but this is what peak male performance looks like.
Unplug the 4th coil and see if anything changes.Unplug other coils and see if things get worse.
>>28781081That's from the special edition shoots. pic related Also,>NissanYeah, you're fucked.
>>28781151Thank fuck it's only 1 cylinder then. Also the owners manual stopped giving maintenance recommendations after 120k miles so really I'm just following the manufacturers suggested service plan by not taking care of it.
op i hope you asked for a new brain for christmas, with a set of balls to go with it, and that you were a good little boy this year.
>>28781081>Nissan>gas at 7-11>knocking>check engine light>I paid a 2k for a new radiator>coolant reservoir is emptyHead gasket, cracked head or block.
>>28781385Naah, I bet he just hasn't bothered to check his coolant reservoir for the last year.
>>28781081>When I got back to my parents I realized the coolant reservoir was emptyIt's more than likely that this killed it.
>>28781081>don't want to wait if it's going to take multiple days to get homeDo a compression check. A headgasket job should only take 4-6 hours if the head isn't warped.
Update: replaced the ignition coil in cylinder 4, engine is no longer chugging. Drove it around the block and didn't seems normal but the engine light remains on.
>>28781637Just keep driving it, I'm sure it will fix itself.
>>28781637Delete the errors and sell asap
>>28781637Drove it around the block and it does seem normal*
>>28781637the car takes a driving cycle to self-clear codes, just give it a day or get an OBD2 scanner and clear it yourself if you want.
>>28781081>NissanThat's what you get for getting the bottom of the barrel
>>28781233>Into trash go PennWhat did he mean by this
>>28781637Your dad's code reader might be able to clear codes. If not, if the problem is truly gone, it'll clear itself within a few days of regular use.Good diagnostic work. You might want to check your fluids more regularly if the coolant overflow was empty, especially at that kind of mileage. And good luck out there, OP. Maybe start saving a little more towards the next set of wheels.
Final update: Got to in-n-out without any problems so we ate and went home (without incident). Thanks for all the advice anons to help a retard like me save Christmas. And yeah I'll check other fluids besides the oil from now on lol. Happy holidays
>>28782031Congratulations.
