Tested 3 of six ignition coils and all worked fine. Took fuel pump and fuel injector relays out. Took all six spark plugs out. A bit black and gap is slightly larger than should be. Computer now disables spark. How am I supposed to test them? I want to know if these were causing an issue before I tidy them up
>>

Tested spark-plugs in my chainsaw. All 6 are producing sparks. I need to clean them up and stick them back in and then test all 6 ignition coils.

My cousin asked me to drive his wife to a family event because he's sick and she still wants to go
She is a rather big girl, probably about 5'9 or 10 and pretty obese (400lb+)
Should I expect any damage to my seats after 1 back and forth ride totalling 1h30?
I own a 2020 civic type R
I'm probably overreacting but the last thing I need is my seat bolsters collapsing for a favor
>>
>>28782646
Yes. You're also near the carrying capacity for the car, which is 680 lbs, where you risk damaging the suspension and frame mounting points.
>>
>>28782655
I'm 6'1 230 so we are getting close to that limit... My gf is only 115 and she'll be riding with us too
I already said yes. I love my cousin and his wife is a sweetheart regardless of her size. I just hope a single ride won't cause seriously damage in itself and the seats will expand out to their previous shape after she gets out

Got one cover off timing belt. It's loose. Don't know if tensioner or belt failed first yet.

So this is the real reason burgers buy one ton pickups as their daily.

>Know that RPF1s 17x8 +35 in the front and 17x9 +35 in the back fit my car
>Wheels I wanna get are 17x8 +35 and 17x9 +38
Is there more wheel fuckery other than these measurements? Just thrown off because the only other car I can see listed with the wheels I want is on fitment industries with a 17x8 +38 square setup but they claim they're using 20mm spacers front and back. I don't understand why they'd be doing that. I find every car on this website uses different sized wheels but ends up looking the fucking same.

Duct tape? Glue? Tar? Solder it together? Please help. My wife is going to give birth any day now and I need a vehicle to get to the hospital
>>
>>28783305

any of you dorks ever tune ? does this look like a camshaft angle sensor failing?
The green line went from 1 2 1 2 to 1 1 1 1 and then I got sync losses. Happened when the engine warmed up (~200F). They're not terribly expensive but I hate throwing money at parts unless I'm for sure this is the problem...either this or an crankshaft position sensor. hopefully.
>>
>>28783501
nvm the PO was a dumb nigger who used the wrong bolt and stripped the hole and the camshaft position sensor was barely held in. Retapped the hole and used the correct bolt and the problem disappeared. Odd the problem only appeared when the temperature rose but whatever

Hope it lasts. Good work

If that's the timing belt then there isn't much else you can do except replace it.

There's mold in my car. It's primarily in the front of the cabin, with some on the door panels.
>what happened?
It was sitting outside covered, and I guess moisture got in over time. This car does not currently run. What I plan to do:
>remove rubber floor mats
>combine soap, water, and 30% vinegar
>spray fucking everything
>let it sit for an hour
>scrub fucking everything and wipe it down
>air out the car for a day or two
I read about O-zone emitters, and I'm contemplating buying one, but my understanding is that those are primarily for eliminating odor, and not actually treating mold. That said, is this a reasonable approach? I have leather seats, so I don't think mold could have penetrated that far. I do have a steam cleaner and can utilize that as well. I'm really bummed about this, but I have to resolve the problem regardless.

>Van wastaking multiple attempts to start up
>Would crank, then stop, then when I shut it down and turned it again it would start up again
>Now it cranks, but won't start at all
Is this probably a bad starter? Or a fuel pump not properly working? Is there a way to check this
>>
>>28784106
>Odd the problem only appeared when the temperature rose but whatever
seems like the expansion of the metal was enough to throw it off since it was also loose
>>
>>28784380
well if it's cranking...it's definitely not the starter
>>
>>28784380
Does your cars fuel pump prime when you turn on (but not try to start ) the car? Prime it a few times and see if it starts on the first go.
>>
>>28784413
Turning the key to try and prime it makes a short grinding noise
But the starter bendix is also spinning and not engaging the flywheel
>>
>>28784380
Probably battery. You can test it with a multimeter or your local auto parts store will probably test it for you for free. If it's cranking but not starting, your starter motor is fine, as the other guy said. If your car just dies on the road, it might be your alternator or fuel pump. How was your engine running when it was running? Slow, sputtering? Are your lights and horn working?

Really, it's probably the battery, don't start worrying about the other stuff I said until you rule that out.
>>
>>28784468
The battery is pretty new (I put a new one in 4 months ago because the old one was dead) though it reads 12.4v

Gonna check out an '02 Avalon tomorrow. It's got 200,000 miles on it. Guy wants $3500. KBB says it's worth $2000 tops, assuming very good condition. Pretty sure I saw a listing for one at 150,000 miles wanting $1800. That was my first choice, but somebody scooped it up I guess. All other listings are around $3000. Is KBB wrong and that one at $1800 was a fluke? Anyway, how much can I reasonably talk the guy down?
