>>
Good for you anonie! Congratulations!
>>

That's pretty sweet. Rag on it for a while then sell it for something cool.
>>

Enjoy getting raped by taxes
>>
bro can I borrow your 2026 toyota rav 4
>>
>>28783020
Those are some expensive headphones if they cost as much as a car.
>>
>>28783020
Holy fucking based

>Reads the fine print??!?!?!(!!(
>winner gets vehicle after oral sex is practiced on lender.
>>
Did you win a chance to purchase a 2026 Rav 4? These are always sent out as a way to get old retards into the dealership
>>
>>28783020
Uh, are you colorblind Anon?
>>
>>28783020
be careful, i'd get a lawyer with you to walk in as a partner, or someone pretending to be to scare the shit out of them.

my uncle had one of these flyers, won 1k cash only for them to say "in the fine print, its actually 1k cash off a car you buy here, or the option of 1 dollar". My uncle took the 1 dollar. They quite literally were trying to get his car keys to force him not to leave.
>>
>>28783020
Congratulations, take care of the taxes properly.
>>
>>28783048
This always baffles me from you loser faggots, why are the taxes such a big deal? Like, sure, we all hate taxes, but is it genuinely that hard for you? are you that much of a poorfag that you don't even have like 5K laying around in a bank account and then just arrange to pay over the rest?

Like, this isn't a multi-million dollar prize where the government is gonna take half, a brand new Rav 4 is in the range of 40K, I doubt they'll take more than 10K out of it max. At worst he can get a loan for 10-12K and get a brand new car for the price of a used trade-in shitbox with 100k+ in the odomoeter at the dealership.
>>
>>28783334
There was an episode of oprah quite a few years ago where she gave all 276 audience members a new Pontiac G6 through some sort of deal with GM, but didn't cover the taxes. Each audience member was on the hook for about $7000. Many of them had to sell the car immediately because they were not able to get or afford a loan to cover the taxes. A new rav4 is twice the price of a G6.
>>
>>28783387
Anon, This is Oprah you're talking about. Meaning the audience is women. Of course they're too stupid to come up with 7K come tax time. Even if it does come to that with Anon's car, he could sell it to a stealership, Carmax, or just try and sell it on his own, even if he sells the Rav 4 at a loss, he'll still end up with free money. Let's take a look at the absolute worst scenario, which is anon has to pay around 37%, the highest tax bracket, which is what someone making 600k+ should pay to the government.

37% of 40K would be something like 17K, let's round up to 18K, just cause the state would also like a piece of the pie on top of federal taxes. Anon could easily take his 20206 Rav 4, drive it for 5K miles, go to a local stealeship of the other brand, sell his car at a loss, get somewhere between 25-30K if he's enough of an idiot to not sell his car around to the highest stealership bidder, pay the tax man, and pocket the difference as free money. Menaing the absolute worst case scenario is he walks away with 10K tax free in his pocket. For free.
>>
>>28783387
>Many of them had to sell the car immediately
So, they got free money.
>>
>>28783334
>you need to be taxed on gifts or prizes because... because... you just do okay?!?!?!
get raped
>>
>>28783408
You get taxed for everything faggot. I dunno what you used to do in your religious compound where you expected the end of the world to happen and to get raptured, then you pretend that you were never a part of that like they're your cringey high school photos, but everything regarding money is taxed.

Income, capital gains, sales, property, estate, inheritance, tarrifs, etc. The only thing that changes is the rate of taxation. Everything that has a monetary value is taxed, no exceptions unless you're rich enough to take advantage of legal loopholes, or you're taking advantage of some tax credit, like the EV ones we used to have.
>>
>>28783020
nice, my parents just got one and it's a good car. it won't bring out any adrenaline, but it's chill and you never have to worry about it going down
>>
>>28783020
Where's the page that has all the *'s on it OP,
Pretty sure it say doesn't say its free. its probably free financing or 1$
>>
>>28783334
Congratulations, you have just won the cheapest new Rav4 for sale in my state - $32,156. We will assume this is the out-the-door price after all the BS dealer fees and paperwork charges they sneak in. We will also assume you make the average income for an individual in the state - $42,000/yr.
To title the vehicle in your name and get license plates for one year, is $2143.08.
You will be taxed as income for the value of the vehicle - $32,156. At the federal level, $6,475 will be taxed at 12% and $25,681 will be taxed at 22%. This results in your federal tax bill going up by $6,426.82.
At the state level, the value of the vehicle would be taxed at 5.3%. This is $1,704.27.
All in, you're at $10,274.17.
I'll go on my credit union's site to look up a loan. As it's not a loan for buying a vehicle (you won it as a prize), it would be a personal loan. We'll assume you have excellent credit.
My credit union offers unsecured personal loans at 11.75% APR for 24/36 months, 12% for 48 months, or 12.5% for 60 months. Your payments would be $482.30/24mo, $340.02/36mo, $270.55/48mo., or $231.14/60mo.
Let's say you sweet-talk the loan officer to making the loan as a "green auto loan", which has a discounted rate for hybrids and electrics. This drops your interest down to the 4.74% to 6.4% range for 24-84 month terms. This would drop your payment down to anywhere between $449.54/mo for 24 month term to $152.07/mo for the 84 month term.
Surveys say that between 29% and 58% of people are living paycheck to paycheck, and 30% to 40% of people are unable to cover a one-time emergency $1000 expense with cash or savings. If you are one of those people, and are suddenly presented with a "prize" in which you have to cough up $2143 right now plus an extra $8131 at tax time, or take on a loan payment of at least $153/mo that you don't have, then you're fucked.
>>
>>28783020
Good bait. I’ve seen shit like this before from car dealers where they’re all winners to get you in the door for whatever BS car they’re pushing right now. In your case it’s the RAV4. This is the same deal as when they send a flyer with a stamped blank “key” in it and you get to keep whatever car the “key” unlocks.
>>
>>28783405
it still counts as income so they had to pay taxes on the original value of the car. not completely free money
>>
>>28783440
>this level of financial understanding
If they made even $1 after selling the car and paying taxes that's free money you fucking retard.
>>
Sell it when it arrives. It's spyware and it's ugly as sin.

reminder the founders of this nation went to war with the british over a 3% tax on tea.
>>
>>28783435
>blah blah blah
So sell it for $28k, pay $8k in tax and pocket $20k. You dumb bitch.
>>
>>28783461
>deposit $20k in the bank
>bank has to file a Form 8300 with the IRS for a transaction over $10k
>selling the car for a profit (you paid $0 for it) is capital gains tax of 15%
>dont pay the IRS their $4200 from the car sale
>get audited and raped
>>
>>28783469
Nope. $28k is less than the fair market value of the car therefore you took a "loss" on selling the car and don't owe anything for selling it.
>>
>>28783455
Because they had no voice in the British government. The taxes themselves weren't the issue.
>>
>>28783475
and you think you have a voice in ours?
>>
>>28783048
I've never seen a single raffle where the taxes weren't covered, but then again I'm not a muttoid.

I get these often. The fine print will basically say "You've WON... an entry into a contest to win the Toyota Rav 4 IF you go to their dealership and jump through hoops and give them all your financial information."
>>
>>28783020
i'd ask them if i could just get a cash prize instead because i'd rather not have a rav 4

>sell car to dealer option, pay taxes based on the bluebook's price not the MSRP
you get fucked either way
>>
>>28783020
Show us the fine print OP. I'm willing to bet its just an advertising scheme from your local stealership. Notice the name of the game is 'MonEYopoly'... I've fallen for these before myself when it said I "won" a $500 gift card. I ended up waiting in the local dodge/ram dealership and had to enter numbers in a kiosk to be told I actually won a $10 gift card. Furious, I complained to the attorney general and that dealership never again mailed that crap out to people.
>>
>>28783020
You live in brevard county FL i just got that in the mail the other day i live in Melbourne.
Its a scam you did not win anything thats to lure you in to the event is hosted at a Harley dealer in order to sell you a bike or a car.
Sorry that i doxxed you but not sorry.

You people can't possibly be this fucking stupid. Google exists, you know?

>>
>>28783020
Wow... Congrats, anon. Enjoy your car and be a safe driver out there.

You see that barcode above where you redacted your address? It more or less also contains your address.

Coincidentally, I get the feeling that I might also be winning a free 2026 Toyota RAV4 soon. ;)

(But seriously, for OP and anyone else reading: if you don't know what data a barcode contains, please err on the side of caution and redact it.)

Imagine seeing that episode while siting on the couch with tickets to the next day's taping and then all the members of the audience get a copy of her book....

Some states, like Virginia, charge you property tax on your vehicle every year (ad valourem tax).
