Track lap times are bullshit.
You can just add horsepower to your car and put down crazy good lap times even if your car handles like crap.

I went from a 400hp LS1 to a 650hp 427 LS
And picked up 4 fucking seconds a lap.
That's just from acceleration alone.

These two cars have similar horsepower, but the Yaris is awd so it should be accelerating faster. Camaro is on all seasons and has no lsd.

Why did the Yaris lose? Extra shit handling?

Spoiler as well, the rc and blade tires are mostly worn by the PO's so how much wear was done by me vs them is hard to say so I got no credit to claim nor defend. They're just fun machines and I enjoy every moment with all 3 of them.

motorrijders bij het nemen van bochten aantoonbaar cooler worden geacht indien de knie het asfalt nadert of raakt;
rotondes en autosnelwegopritten bij uitstek geschikt zijn voor demonstraties van hellingshoek en persoonlijk zelfvertrouwen;
een geharmoniseerde knie-aan-de-grond-praktijk bijdraagt aan de Europese eenwording;
HEBBEN DE VOLGENDE VERORDENING VASTGESTELD:
Artikel 1 – Definities
a) Motorrijder: iedere natuurlijke persoon die een tweewielig motorvoertuig bestuurt met een motorinhoud groter dan “net niet genoeg”;
b) Knie aan de grond: de bewuste en zichtbare benadering of aanraking van het wegdek met de knie, al dan niet voorzien van een knieslider;
c) Rotonde: iedere cirkelvormige verkeersconstructie die uitnodigt tot overschatting van eigen kunnen;
d) Autosnelwegoprit: een gebogen infrastructuurelement waar men “even lekker kan insturen”.
Artikel 2 – Algemene verplichting
weersomstandigheden;
verkeersdrukte;
motorvermogen;
daadwerkelijke rijvaardigheid.
Artikel 3 – Technische vereisten
Motorrijders dienen te beschikken over:
goedgekeurde kniesliders, zichtbaar afgesleten;

Artikel 4 – Uitzonderingen

a) bestuurders van scooters met boodschappentassen;
b) motorrijders ouder dan “die tijd”;
teleurgestelde blikken van verkeersagenten;
hoofdschuddende mede-motorrijders.
Bij niet-naleving kan worden opgelegd:
een verplichte cursus “Durven Leunen voor Beginners”;

Incredibly easy answer in two parts. NA vs Turbo. Any turbo car isn't actually putting down that much power unless you're within a narrow band. the Yaris is also not a true AWD like the old celica gt4 or a wrx, its an electronic diff that adjust power to the rear and its actually just a FWD car.
>>
>>28787676
>>28787683
"liter" bikes aren't actually 1,000 cc.
This was primarily due to racing regulations that had a hard displacement limit. If you won and a post-race inspection measured your displacement as 1,000.2cc you would be disqualified. These variances can easily happen from casting or porting of compression chambers. So they're wnough under the limit have a safety margin for.measurimg but not affect performance in any noticeable manner.
Thus why "1,000" cc bikes are actually 998s.
"750s" are actually 748s
"500s" are actually 499s.
>>
>>28787703
submitted by accident because I've been drinking, but to wrap up, the Yaris is only sometimes at that power and only if you are flooring it like an animal, and its only sometimes AWD and only when the computer thinks its not too much as it doesn't trust you with that and the rest of the time its just FWD.
Unironically, under the vast majority of driving conditions, a fucking miata has a better powerband and a better drive configuration.

You didn't have to take my bait but good post, I usually thought of these numbers just as a result of laws as it is for cars. I was raised in Southern California (Santee). I literally opened my garage door, rode 10 houses down the street and I was in the hills (at 14).
There was a semi-professional track nestled in a valley from the 70's in the Cleveland National Forest (below the tree line where the national park was just scrub brush). I was a little lucky with that but I learned how to ride horses and dirtbikes at my Uncle's place in Nevada.
The number of places in the American Southwest that you can ride covers more square miles than any european country.
When I got a little older and friends and I started driving we could go out to Ocotillo and Glamis for the big stuff.

Pic is the track.

I paid a lot for good tires, they just needed scrubbing in and still had their showroom mirror shine.

Change Alf to Nirvana.
Emphasize that the crumbs were from hot pockets.
Nix the basement (basements are very rare in SoCal).

I held my breath as i raised my garage door. The light hit me as i am exposed to the outside world. I brush the hot pocket crumbs from my Nirvana t-shirt as i swing my leg over my trusty two stroke, savouring the smell of mixed fuel. I cast my gaze to the end of my road, a mere ten houses away are the hills.

Yep.
That was literally me.

I could hear my buddy heading my way, having just left his own garage down the street. As he passed I filed in behind him for our short trip on asphalt, my rear tire oscillating from my amateur re-lacing. As we neared the Municipal Water District gate we were relieved to see it was open today, it was a much longer trip to the other water tower. We barrelled through to keep our momentum on that first steep hill. The loose soil was a challenge with my poverty tier rear tire.

No giving me shit about my rear wheel.
I was 14 and bought that KDX with my allowance.

You were probably just overcautious with the tires (nothing wrong with that, scrubbing them in is always a good thing).
Always get the best tires you can.
Ive literally spent more for tires than the bike they went on was worth

I mean that's kinda true - up the point you're traction limited.
The real shit is having rubbers that can actually handle more significant changes in acceleration; whether that's turning, speeding, or stopping.
Rally cars after the Group B era had less power, but became faster, because of better tyres and suspensions.
And of course, power-to-weight ratio is the real difference maker.
