Nissan sentra 2025 new vs 2018-20 50k-60k miles Honda civic?
The Nissan is $18k out of the door, the Civic is around the range.

The Nissan Sentra has a CVT transmission which has been notorious for being utter and complete DOGSHIT. You will probably have a warranty since it's brand new, what I would recommend is to get Sentra and treat is like a delicate little angel, and when the warranty expires trade it in. Save up for something nice in the meantiime.

Don't spend more than 2k for your first car hth

Get a shitbox for your first car.
Ideally a manual. If you fuck it up or ding it up you won't care. (and you will)

New Nissian for 18k? Sure>>28787600
Used Toyota not if you have to fiance

>>28787643
Hell buy 2 not having to pay replacement insurance will save a ton of money
>>
I’ll never understand why someone who’s even remotely interested in cars would spend 20k+ on such a piece of shit.
>>

Have you got an insurance quote on that Honda or are mommy and daddy paying for it?
>>
I might be in the minority on this one but I would pick the new Sentra over the used Civic IF they're the same price.
The year range you mentioned is a 6-8 year old vehicle that may or may not have been properly serviced. There's also the consideration that certain other maintenance needs to be done that the previous owner did not do.
>>28787600 is correct about the CVTs being a bit troublesome especially during the mid 10s with Nissans, but the newer ones are supposedly more reliable. I do caution on selling the Sentra right after the warranty period ends because they are known to depreciate pretty bad.
IMO go with the Sentra, follow the maintenance guide to a T. Plan on keeping it for at least 10 years unless you don't mind losing a bit on deprecation.
Good luck.

My first car was 1994 sentra and I miss it bros
That said, it was a decade old
Why the fuck would you buy this

Extremely Ugly gay slow
You will regret getting something so gay.

There's a reason why it's that cheap anon. at that price, I would just tell you to go get an Elantra instead. it's gonna be exploding engine compared to exploding CVT, but at least Hyundai owned up to it and they offer a 100K warranty on the engine. compared to Nissan who has done nothing about their trannies.

just because a car is really new, doesn't automatically make it better stupid ass OP. It also doesn't mean older cars or cars with high mileage make them unreliable. Try a 2007 Honda Civic Si. It would be more reliable, more exciting than those two you mentioned. You can also modify them to personalize, while having it cost way less than those.

Jatco sorted out the CVT quite a while ago. They have a bad reputation because of their problems back in the early 2000s - but these days they are perfect fine if you're not a gorilla retard who never does maintenance.

The CVT-X on the Sentra SR and Altima has 2 oil pumps (one mechanical, one electric) and 30% less friction, and better programming than the previous model.

Ffs Anon just buy a shitty beater Corolla or Saturn
>>
>>28787589
25 Sentra is going to be the superior vehicle with more modern features and bumper to bumper / powertrain warranties vs an 8 year old used Honda with an unknown maintenance history
>>
How is nearly a decade old Civic at 50-60k miles 18k? They were 19-27k cars in 2017-2018.

Anything made after 2020 is trash.
Anything made by Nissian is especially trash.
Get the Honda
>>
>>28787589

You are black, no car on earth can withstand your driving style and lack of maintenance, not Honda, Nissan nothing. Maybe dodge for a little while
>>
>>28790633
That's all well and good but it's up against the definitive car for gorilla retards that don't do maintenance
>>
>>28794677
Bruh, my twin sister had a Sentra from New.
My dad was religious on all the maintenance.
It still needed a new CVT before the extended warranty was up.
The rest of the car was falling apart as well
They sold it during covid for a bat shit crazy amount of $7,000.
Someone paid $7K for a 10yr old sentra with 150K miles and paint damage.

Fuck dealerships. The sentra model was $25k out of the door. Ended walking out. I went around looking for a used Nippon cars. I went to 3 different dealerships for civics and corollas, they wanted to charge me $22k+ tax and docs. One of the Ford dealerships kept trying to upsell me his fucking used Toyota as a premium brand, do these faggots even want to sell cars?
I than looked at $5-$10k cars. I was told by the mechanic not to buy it while the other had its codes cleared. After losing $120 on that, I bought a 25 versa SV for $21k.
I financed $15k, I should be able to pay it off by the end of the year.
Fuck dealerships.
Tesla shouldn't be the only ones that can get away with selling straight to consumers. On a another note, fuck dealerships.
