triumph trannies, not like this...
>>
>>28787793
Stop being a fag. The bike looks okay as long they price it right.

Why are triumph even bothering with a 400? Its basically a scooter
>>
>>28788669
I used to commute on an R6 and usually used about 40 of the horsepower available to me. I wouldn't buy one but I can see it being a thing for cityfags, chicks, and yuros (redundant)
>>
>>28788669
A2/LAMS + SE Asia markets
>>
>>28788669
As said 400cc is a bit of an upper limit for most riders in, say.... Japan.
>>
>>28788677
Why where you riding so slow?
A 600 is the bear minimum for a learner bike, let alone serious biking
>>
>>28788680
>>28788712
Poor little guys.
>>
>>28788713
Lass, in the other thread you said you don't even know how to ride a pedal bike. What are you even on about?
>>
>>28788720
Other thread? You have me mixed up with someone else?
The learner thread is over there

My Himalayan 450 works just fine, even on SoCal freeways cruising at 75mph. It makes the same horsepower as a Triumph 400 and only about 2 more lb/ft of torque. In terms of modern motorcycles, realistically, 35-70hp are really all you need in most real world circumstances as long as the bike's gearing is good. Anyone who NEEDS more is either racing (unlikely), fat as fuck, coping, or trolling.
>>
>>28787793
I think I have that Lego set already.

>My Himalayan 450 works just fine
Im sorry anon, but no it doesn't lol.
Bouncing your little bike off the rev limiter just to reach highway speed is not "just fine."
Why not upgrade?
>>
>>28788737
It's sitting at around 5-5500 RPM at freeway speed. There's still plenty of space to the rev limit at 8500k and it's still getting 65mpg doing it.
>>
>>28788737
>Bouncing off the rev limiter
>>
>>28788743
>Already straining to do 65
>Revved out at 80
Are you sure its not a scooter anon?
Jokes aside, why not upgrade? That is really not a way to live
>>
>>28788746
Why would anyone want to discuss bikes with someone who only wants to get off of them as soon as possible?
>>
>>28788748
Just get on a real bike bro and you will be good.
You need a 600 minimum.
Why are you bothering with something like that? Are you restricted on cc or something?

I understand you're trolling for the lels, but for anyone who actually cares, it cruises right around its power band at regular illegal California freeway speeds and is completely unstressed doing it. The Himmy 450 is a great bike and not a total dog on the highway like the old 411.
>>
>>28788768
Have you ever ridden a normal bike, like a liter? What you are describing is not normal

my dealer is selling them for like $7900, like I know it's a worse daytona but that price really isn't bad when I compare to equivalent bikes from yamaha/kawasaki
Should I?
>>
Ew a thirdie displacelet
>>
>>28789033
Nah, go buy a used 675R, they're better in every way, cheaper, and with a massive aftermarket.
>>
>>28789033

Unless you're a new rider and specifically want a lower power budget P-twin, it's just fine for that.

still not worth it?
>>
>>28789047
I still wouldn't, there's a reason they're desperate to sell a "new" 2023, it's just a mediocre budget sportbike. The 675 is possibly the best middleweight supersport ever made.
>>
>>28789047
Pretty sure these have locked ecus. Can't tune em properly
>>
>>28789062
That sounds unlikely, surely theres a workaround. What about a powercommander?
>>
*mogs ur bike*
>>
>>28789431
That legally classified as a car in europe
>>
>>28788729
True, but I feel like I need more, in certain RPMs, my g310 felt like it had holes in the torque curve at certain rpms, common occurrence in modern bikes, my f850gsa feels more complete. I don't ride it any faster. I wish I could be happy with a himmy, I probably wouldn't have upgraded if I bought the himmy. But here I am.
>>
>>28788729
You need to post pics of your himmy baka.
>>
>>28789422
It's true. For example the Triumph Tiger 850 is locked to make it impossible to unlock the max 900-level state of tune despite being mechanically identical.
>>
>>28789705
Sure man, i get that much but what about Power commanders and similar?

I posted it in the cruiser thread as a joke and 4chan started sperging about duplicate files, time limits, and other bullshit
>>
>>28789780
Oh hey it worked today. Once this annoying storm system passes by and quits flooding roads in the area, I'll take her out and get some more pictures with actual scenery.
>>

>Joking on 4chan
How dare you.
Now everybody only post in the same boring copypasted thread forever and ever and nowhere else ever again
>>
>>28789793
I mean the janky posting system started bitching, the cruiser thread in general just kinda went along with it since the OP pic is a Pan America and apparently ADV bikes are cruisers now.
>>
>>28789798
ADV are essentially the modern cruiser bro.
>>
>>28789798
Honestly these specific bike threads are bike chat hasn't been this good on /o/ in years
>>
>>28788669
They sold 50k or them in a year or something. That's why they're continuing to make them.
>but why even bother
Euros and 3rd worlders. For 3rd worlders this is what a big and powerful motorcycle is like. For Euros it's A2 compliant but capable on most highways(maybe outside the autobahn), has okayish styling if you're into that look, good fuel efficiency and the price is achievable for even the eastern parts of it.
Outside of these it also serves as a starter bike, a sort of my first little triumph etc. etc.
>>
>>28789780
Cool baik. Is that arai?
>>
isnt triumph just a skinsuit now
>>
>>28789957
Yeah i get it. Its like countries that all rides scooters buying 125's and 400's.
I know 125's are just scooters but a 400 almost feels like a real bike
>>
>>28789780
Where are these made? Pls not google

We used to watch guys like you ride out of the dealership and crash a hundred yards out so we could wheel you back in for repairs.

Arai XD4. Easily the best helmet I've ever worn and fits my head perfectly

>>28790507
It's a jeetbike, anon, everyone knows this. Royal Enfield has been making legitimately good bikes the past few years, though. If I wasn't specifically looking for something to spend some time in the dirt with, I'd have seriously considered a Bear 650.
>>
>>28790381
Triumphs are designed by bongs but built in Thailand and India. Hilariously, it's kind of the same deal that Royal Enfield has going on recently.
>>
>>28791806
Shitbike owners got the best gear, you guys are the smartest somehow. I wanna own a bear 650, it might be the only bike closest to the original r80 g/s.
>>
>>28791605

Oddly enough, I owned one of those for a while, too. It was a pretty fun bike on the highway and on graded dirt. I wouldn't choose it over a more modern bike for serious ADV stuff, but it definitely had charm and SOVL.
Honestly, I'd recommend just finding a bike that speaks to you and run with it. The Bear 650 is an incredibly sexy bike that nails the OG retro California desert racer vibe. No other company, Jap, Brit, or otherwise makes anything even close in my opinion, especially at anything near a similar price point. I'd say give it a test ride and see if you like it. They've got 3 year warranties and I've only heard good things about Royal Enfield's customer service.
