Has /o/ ever received or gifted a car before?
>>
From my parents about 24 years ago.
>>
In a manner of speaking. Dude told me I could have the truck that was sitting on his property if I could get it running. I did a quick visual inspection and repaired some wiring (mice chewed things they shouldn't have), plopped in a new battery, and she fired right up. He heard it running and brought me the title.

Sort of. I'm the Mr' Fix It of the family so everybody gives me their old shit including vehicles.

>>28791691
This type of scenario would be more common if people just inquired about shitboxes that have been sitting forever instead of sitting around and bitching about there not being any $500 cars on FB or CL.
>>
Got given a barely functioning Buick LeSabre from my aunt when I was young. Drove that thing straight into the ground, didn't take care of it at all. Was a good car while it lasted, at least.
>>
>>28791538
No but I did have dinner with Jay-Z once.
>>
>Buy car off marketplace
>Check gift box on title
Suck it, Uncle Sam.
>>
>>28791782
How loud was the lip smacking while he was eating.

If inheriting a car counts as being gifted a car, then yes.
I’ve also gifted a car to my (now ex) wife, but I pulled a mega-nigger on her and took it away.
>>
>>28791894
story with the ex?
>>
My friend built a rotary powered Miata and gifted it to me.

>Fd3 engine
>14k rpm redline
>Nitrous express wet shot
>Roll cage, race seats and belts
>Positrac rear locker not welded ricer bullshit
>Straight piped sounds like a Cessna
>Fire out the rear when shifting
>7 gal fuel cell
>Popup head lights
>>

>>14k rpm redline
lol yuhhh
>>
I gave a friend my old car because he didn't have one. It was a 13 year old Honda Civic. I had recently bought a newer pickup and the Civic was just rotting in my parents backyard, so giving it to him seemed like the best thing to do with it.

Yeah, bought my dad a Škoda 120L as a summer car.
His brother had one of these back in the 80s that he pushed to 800k km before selling it off.
I was looking for a Moskvich 408 instead which was his first car, but those are really uncommon in Finland, practically non existent nowadays, so this will have to do. From what I've heard, the "mosse" was an absolute piece of shit, where's these Škodas are actually quite okay if you know how to live with them.
I did offer to swap in a 136M from a newer Felicia like I did in mine, but the original engine fired up and works surprisingly well, so he wanted to keep it.
I did mention that if the original engine gives any attitude, I'm not going to bother with it at all, it's coming straight out and a Felicia engine is going in.

To preface this we were not married at this point
>gifted her a car she wanted
>give her the keys and title
>we lived in CA on her military orders but are from another state
>she wants to modify the car but knows it would be illegal in CA
>genuinely just trying to help i suggest i send the titles back to my family in home state and have it registered in that state and have plates mailed back to us
>my mother does this for us but since she only had a POA for MY name, the title and registration comes back in the mail with my name on them
A few months later, married now.
>I find out she fucking another dude
>I kick her out of the house
>she texts saying “i have to come back I have to get my car”
>I say “your car? I’m not familiar with what car that is. I have MY car here, with MY name on the title and registration though.
>mfw she ends up buying it from me for more than I paid for it initially
>>
>>28791977
>things that never happened
>>
>>28791696
Yup if someones truly given up hope in fixing it they'd love to have someone bring it back to life for em.
>>
>>28791538
Actually, yes!

>Dad got a new Mazda CX 30 in Fire Red
>His wife got a new Volvo XC60
>They gave my younger brother her "old" 2020 Toyota Highlander 60K miles
>His wife got the 2018 Fire Red Miata with less than 20K
>I got a 2013 Explorer XLT with 180K miles

They love me!
>>

> military wife
let me guess, it was a jeep wrangler
honestly brilliant maneuvering though, sorry it didn’t work out in the end
>>
>>28792232
Yeah women in the military are red flags, sorry anon. They don't go in a men-crowded business without really wanting to be with men.
>>
>small town America
>stop by to see my community college auto shop teacher at his house/garage one day 5-7 years after graduating.
>just shooting the shit asking how he's been and everything
>he asks if I want this old pickup someone abandoned. He put a new clutch in it, they came and picked it up and promptly broke an axleshaft on it and brought it right back. Never paid him for the clutch work and its been abandoned for almost 10 years.
>go check it out and its a 1970 F-100 4wd.

Fuck yeah I'll get it out of your hair!

Oh yeah I also got this one from a friend of mine.
He was in a bit of a tight spot as he had no running car and winter was upon us, so I gave him my Ford Fiesta for free, he was a bit overwhelmed or something at the time because he wanted to pay for the Fiesta, but I refused any kind of payment.
He then gave me the keys and title for this thing and about 5 litres of vodka.
Good trade, the VW is completely rusted to shit, like there is no saving it anymore as half the frame is missing, so it's mostly been pulling generator duties, that 1.6 diesel is in surprisingly good health.
>>
>>28791538
My older brother gave me my first car (Brown 1987 Audi 100) only because he was too lazy to clean it out in order to sell it. It took me 4 hours to detail it.

My dad loved cars. Drove an Acura NSX before I was born, sold it for the family. Gave me an IS300 in highschool, crashed it. Gave me another, it got totaled (not my fault.) Eventually gave me a 5 speed BMW E46, then a 2009 E63 AMG. No matter how many times it breaks, he swears it's all worth it. He drives a W204 C63 and he says the next car will be an air cooled 911. Love my dad. Don't know where I'd be without him. He does it purely for the love of cars. Not many like him still around.
>>
>>28796044
>daddy gave me like 20 cars lolz
what a gay fuckstick. bet you go around telling everyone about how you earned it.
>>
>>28796046
Lol nah. I actually say it was all him. I didn't even ask, I was kinda just brought into it. I think he just wanted his son to really enjoy cars as much as he did. We go on roadtrips in separate cars and shit and everything.
>>
>>28796046
Lol you jel?
>>
Dunno if you count it, but my parents bought me my first car.
>>
>>28796448
no im anon
>>
>>28796050
That's actually sweet, anon
Never take your rich dad for granted
>>
I almost did, but my parents declined my offer to meet in the middle with a car as I was about to buy a bike.
>No anon, we're not going to pay for half of your fucking car
So I proceeded to purchase a motorbike. They confiscated my keys, I called the police, I moved out with the keys and bike, all was good.

Pretty jelly of people with parents who are more than willing to help out with shit. To this day I offer my tools and labour to friends/colleagues free of charge in spite of those bastards. Except Jayce.
>>
Yes, gifted it back so they could keep miles of the there nice car.
>>
Is Jay in the Epstien files yet? Ot caught up with d

Waaah waah I got a clean ass explorer that I could easily king ranch swap the interior on
>my younger brother
>his wife
Oh youre just a deadbeat LMAO
>>
On Christmas I was gifted a fucking 1.2 LITER PUNTO as a temporary car until I get back on my feet and can afford a proper car and it caused me to relapse so fucking hard into the stuff that caused me to fuck my life up and bankrupt myself in the first place (retarded street racing in a lightweight car, I swore to myself when I crashed that I'd never do that stuff again)
For the past week I've spent every night just driving the shit out of it
>>
My family is too poor for that, so no.
