It’s showing CYLINDER 1 misfire. I replaced the ignition coil but it’s not working. Im receiving spark plugs tomorrow. The symptoms are as follows. >smooth in park and in neutral >vibration and slight jerks in drive or reverse >I drove the car 30km and only 2 slight backfires >oil has been changed>coils and spark plugs were changed 10 months agoWhat is going on?
>>28795350Check for oil in the spark plug holes
>>28795355There was 1 drop of oil. Very insignificant
>>28795350Visually check the entire length of the wires that feed that coil. The shitty factory wire covering tends to break these wires.
>>28795350First test if your coil is good. Some cheap coils can go bad in less than a year. You can makeshift a testing tool with a crankshaft sensor if you don’t feel like swapping coils around. If not the coil, glow plug. Use a multimeter to test for continuity or if the resistance is too high. Check for oil in the spark plug and spark plug tube.If that’s not the problem, do a compression test on all cylinders. A kit for petrol cars is cheap and it is easy to do.If low compression add a spoon of oil to the plug hole and then test again, if higher compression now, worn piston rings, if compression still the same, bent rod.
>>28795374What happens if the wire is bad?
>>28795412Splice in a replacement section at the break.
>>28795384>if compression still the same, bent rodI always thought this test revealed poorly seating or bent valves. Please explain.
>>28797381Not that anon, but I can see the test being useful for figuring how well the rings seal
>>28795350Just replace all 4 coils and spark plugs call it done.
>>28797402>test being useful for figuring how well the rings sealYes it is, but I was referring to the second part of the test, where you squirt some oil into the cylinder and recheck the compression. But I guess it doesn't matter that much to me, because whether it's a bend rod or a faulty head, the head would need to come off.
