hey my buddies Lincoln towncar's serpentine belt snapped and when he replaced it the belt fell off and got ate by the radiator fan. Now he is a nigger and could likely have done this job incorrectly, but in the off chance there is something seriously wrong what could be causing the belt to fall off?

it could be an idler taking a shit or the ps pump pulley isn't pressed in the correct depth.
>>28796661Shit, dude, there's so many things...Idler/tensioner pulley bearings fucked, tensioner sticking/stuck, water pump bearing fucked, alternator bearings fucked, compressor pulley bearing fucked, bolt(s) fell out, bracket broke, stuff mentioned above, and on, and on, and on...He needs to do what he should have done before putting the new belt on which is do a thorough inspection of all the components on the front of the engine. It'll probably be pretty obvious if he goes in with the mindset of "somethings fucked" instead of "Wow, the belt broke. Oh well, shit happens."
