Which is better and why.

Toyota. Because they actually try (and usually fail miserably) to make a truck.
>>
>>28796912
American
>>
Honda is more innovative, Toyota is more conservative. Honda practically pushes the envelope, Toyota lobbies against progress.
>>
Honda, because their cars are on average, much more driver focused. It's gone the other way now though.
>>
>>28796925
Well put despite the vague political undertones.
Honda is innovate but with shit that only works for a long time minus some exceptions.

Toyota has RWD models with manual transmissions. If that were the only thing I knew about the two companies, that would be enough.
>>
Real talk:

I get paid 55 cents a mile (current rate) for work.
I do about 50k miles a year.
Im almost ready for retirement after 30 years.
It would take me 20 minutes to remember all the cars ive had over the years and even after that id miss a few.

Camry 100%.

I did the hilux (u.s. rebadged), F150, Ram, Ranger because I thought i needed a truck for rutted out dirt roads.
Then I realized I could double my fuel mileage (bonus pay) in a camry/accord and just straddle the ruts.

>back on topic
With a Toyota i have to change out struts after 150k miles.
Oh the horror.
With a Honda I get a CEL at 120k because the crank sensor went out.
Or maybe it was a pinched wire causing a short from a twig in the road that I hit because a new sensor didn't fix the issue.
But its not constant and when it rains it drops into limp mode on the freeway.
And if I have a lot of hot starts it drops Into limp mode. But if I shut off the the car and restart it might go away.
And yes I checked the harness and there's no issues- the sensor is buried so far up in the engine bay that if it was pierced it would have blown my hood off.
And it was 2 accords with the same issue.

One of the camrys I gave to a friend (because he sucks with money and doesn't understand the concept of a DD)- its about to hit 400k miles. Thats actually a sweet car I got from a friend and its had oil changed at 5k for its entire life and might make it to 1 million miles.
Another one my son is driving and is around 325k.
>>
>>28796925
What have they innovated in the past 20 years that has been worth a shit? It's all FWD cuckboxes
>>
>>28796963
Sh-awd, their own dct that rivals Porsche’s pdk, the new nsx that basically spawned a whole segment of hybrid super cars with small battery packs. Chassis construction that allowed them to preserve strength whilst adding visibility.

Toyota released a couple sports cars who’s engines blow up, rebadged a bmw, and are now jumping on the hybrid sports cars bandwagon wagon with small battery packs+torque fill exactly as Honda had already done with the nsx.
>>
>>28796958
I hate you losers desu.
>>
>>28796958
>I'm a fucking wagie
Try driving a Camry outside of the most temperate climates. I've had 3 fuel pumps fail in a single camry before I said fuck it and sold it.
2nd Toyota the transmission died because it couldn't handle inclines.
Piece of shit cars for goysumers who don't do any real driving other than going to Walmart to goysume.
>>
>>28796912
Toyota obviously. They have made a full range of just about any kind of vehicle you could want including dozens of rwds.
All honda has are infinite flavors of fwd slop and they KNOW it's slop. The only 2 times they got serious and made a real car they were both rwd. But they know their customers are dumb enough to buy the fwd slop so that's all you get.
>>
>>28797017
"FWD slop"

the majority of motorists will never know the difference between FWD and RWD. Also they make pretty much the best handling FWD cars ever with their Type Rs
>>
>>28797022
it's still slop. Any fwd honda you masturbate over would have been a better car if it was rwd and you know it.
>>
>>28797011
>wagie
Im sallary bitch.
I make an extra $800 a month on mileage.
Thats right- my car makes as much as your pathetic basement dwelling ass.
Im getting ready to retire with 60% of my base pay for the rest of my life plus SS plus my 401(k) thats pulling in 18% a year.
I just bought the neighboring house because I didn't like who lived there.
Buck up buttercup you're next.
>>
>>28797030
RWD is optimal of course, but FWD is a comprimise that allowed them to keep the prices down and have cheap and reliable cars for the masses with sophisticated double wishbone suspension at both ends throightout the 90s (though they went to mcdonalds struts in the 00s)
>>

>for the masses
And you're objecting to the word "slop" why?
>>
>>28797037
because slop is half arsed guff, Honda legitamately put out great drivers cars. The Honda Integra DC2 is legitmately one of the best handling cars of all time, FWD or not
>>
>>28797040
>great drivers cars.
For drivers with low standards maybe.
If a car is fwd it's automatically half-assed. Fwd isn't a drivers choice or an engineers choice it's the accountants and marketers choice. When engineers and drivers get to choose you get the NSX and the S2000.
The rest of the time the engineers and drivers have to make do with the fwd platform they're stuck with and that's half assed.
>>
>>28797050
Imagine not enjoying FWD cars kek, you've just alienated like 70% of cars, what a retarded elitist fuck
>>
>>28797050
Even the nsx and 2000 were tainted by interference. The 2000 is a bit heavier than it should have been because the marketers insisted on making it a convertible and the accountants came close to ruining the nsx by re-using an existing transverse V6 powertrain. This enraged a lot of people in the 90's when honda were doing VERY well in F1. They thought they were going to get a longitudal v8 or maybe even a v10 which would have made the car legendary. A normal east-west honda v6 on steroids was a major disappointment but fortunately it was good enough to eventually make the nsx a classic.

if you're considering this because of an upcoming purchase, it depends on the end-user. Do you want a car that is predictable and familiar? Then get a Honda Civic. However, would you rather prefer something strange, interesting, fun with an extensive continued aftermarket Japan support for upgrades? Go Toyota: GR86, GR Corolla, GR Supra, GR Yaris, twin-turbo Tundra pickup.

I think overall Toyota, especially when you include Lexus since they are sold as Toyotas in certain countries. Toyota has more variety and important models. Honda/Acura can be more fun. Some Toyota models are so boring, like the ones they sold in Europe during the 90s/2000s.
Toyota had more Rally and LeMans successes. Honda had more F1 and Indy successes.
Both are great car brands.

>Allegedly the older civics were still the most stolen car in states with lots of niggers and mexicans
the numbers dont lie. For some reason those hispanics have an autismo level fascination with those old Hondas (and even new ones). They are amazed that something so simple to work on can be so fun. They have that stigma- that's why my homies don't drive them, they don't want to associate with people who like Hondas. While the ones with family and children all rely on Toyotas for their lifestyle.

The absolute worst drivers are always in a Toyota.

$15 for the cheapest on rockauto with about $30 being average with OEM at almost $400 and then brick&mortar.parts store around $120.
Its easy as shit to swap, just pop out rear seat and theres an access panel in floorpan.
>>
ive owned both a 2011 RAV4 (and the 2008 gx450 as well ) and a 2015 CRV touring, and its shocking how shit the CRV is. uncomfortable, low power, low quality interior. the rav4 isnt a rolls royce inside but at least it was better than the fucking plastic junk heap honda has the audacity to call an interior cabin. same with the civics as well. it was the mid 2010s when i had both to compare so maybe things are different but damn honda really phoned it in man
>>
>>28796925
That doesn't make any sense.
Toyota pioneered and perfected the hybrid drivetrain, and is the main player in hydrogen as well.
>>
>>28797080
my accord 2013 is a v6 thoughbeit
>>
>>28797652
A hybrid powertrain for a shitbox isn’t even remotely the same thing as a performance hybrid. No one but Toyota even uses hydrogen because it’s a dead end for consumer automobiles with no infrastructure support. All it is is Toyota trying to resist progress with EVs.
>>
>>28797661
>A hybrid powertrain for a shitbox isn’t even remotely the same thing as a performance hybrid.
It's pretty much the same thing, gay shit that only faggots care about.
>No one but Toyota even uses hydrogen because it’s a dead end for consumer automobiles with no infrastructure support
Toyota created their own infrastructure. They have a shipping container they can drop off anywhere that generates and stores hydrogen. Hydrogen is attractive because you can have a 400hp V8 and still pretend you're fighting climate change.
>>
Honda fell off a fucking cliff after 2010 with that 1.5 engine garbage and just general retreat from sports cars. It's clear that Honda as a company is extremely confused on where to go to next, especially now since their EV plans have stalled. Toyota meanwhile spent the entire 00's and 10's getting the money necessary to go wild now and give us basically everything people have been begging Toyota for, and with them correctly choosing to go into hybrids, this era of Toyota will continue for at least another decade
>>
>>28797672
