Seems that this car would be a bargain for a larper.
>>28797483Buy that car, and by the end of the second year at best you will have paid another 11K in repairs and maintenance. At worst it'll happen in the exact same year of purchase.
>>28797483Because the maintenance on those things are insane.
>>28797483>bargain for a LARPerNope screen is to small now dosen't have "floor courtesy light" with the logo or lit up grille and all that BS so not ideal for a fake rich asshole who wants women to think it's the newest model
>out of warranty GermanGo ahead. Do it. Buy it, then have a revelation why these barges are lease machines because you'll spend the same amount in repairs/ neglected maintenance as making payments on a new one
>>28797494He said larper not "L-A-R-P.er"
Volkswagens are already waking nightmares 10 years out just imagine a Benz
>>28797483Because you're still paying maintenance for a $100k+ car
>>28797483>german carexpensive work>gas carexpensive fuel
There is nothing more expensive than a cheap German car.
>>28797483You really haven't seen one of those "I BOUGHT A $100K MERCEDES FOR $10K" videos on youtube?
>>28797483I'd buy it if it was that cheap in my country. It would be pretty reliable with a bit of a refresh to some of the worn parts, probably a few thousand $ but its worth it I think. In America its the whole experience of getting something new rather that a cheap older car so they'll get a $20k Honda. Probably financing has a big influence too, I'd rather just save up the money but many people are really into it.>>28798058Better to do the work yourself, luxury cars are not that different but those prestige places charge more because rich people don't care.
>>28798345>Better to do the work yourselfThat's what I've been wondering about. Even if everything is computers, what's stopping me from putting a GM 4 speed auto and a LS into this bad boy? What's stopping people from putting aftermarket wheels and suspension into it?
>>28797483Don't listen to folks here. If you have the patience and skill to work on your own car it's a good deal. Unless it has some biturbo v8 garbage designed to explode right at 100,001 miles.
>>28798385It does. That's why it's cheap
>>28798385I had that era S350 so one of the simplest models and it was still impossible to fully maintain.Started throwing injector codes that no one could fix even dealership and later on started slamming on downshifts. This is what killed it but also had fuckton of other issues.
>>28797483Expensive, pain in the ass to maintain, and a lot of these were bought new by people who did not actually make enough to own them but wanted to keep up with the Joneses, then driven to the ground and passed on to the next person who wants one but can't afford it so it can be driven to the ground even harder, though that's mainly BMWs but I suspect MBs suffer from that to a lesser degree.
>>28798376>what's stopping me from putting a GM 4 speed auto and a LS into this bad boy?Time and money.>What's stopping people from putting aftermarket wheels and suspension into it?Nothing. Easy work. Don't forget to wheel align immediately when you change the ride height.
>>28797483Because they like to fail in the most annoying way possible. My friend bought a 2008 E-Class like that. He got it for cheap because the air suspension was leaky. We replaced it. Next thing was the variable intake geometry. He disabled it and permanently ran in with the long runners. Then the vvt failed. Total rebuild of the valve train. He finally sold it when the fuel flow electronics shit the bed and he couldn't be bothered to find out which of the biodegradable cables ate itself. If we didn't live in the eco khalifate of Germany we could have swapped in something more reliable, but then you'd have to figure out how to make all the on board electronics like the dash and climate controls talk to the aftermarket engine electronics, which sounds like a nightmare.
