If they put v6 engines with locking rear diffs in these it would be the best jack of all trades car of all time

Does that mean it'll set itself on fire? Because it's a kia.

Just buy a fucking 4Runner or a Tahoe with a proper drivetrain... People spending $50k+ on these "off road" trim crossovers are delusional.

Yes, lots of single white females need transportation and are too retarded to spend a little bit more on something good.

Executive chauffeur companies drive millionaires, billionaires and dignitaries around in Tahoes and Suburbans. A gas Tahoe does mid to high 20's on the highway and the diesels can get 30+. That's about the same as what these pigfat crossovers get.

>>28798234
Has it been in production for almost 100 years like the Suburban?
>>
>>28798239
>Executive chauffeur companies drive millionaires, billionaires and dignitaries around in Tahoes and Suburbans
cuz the point is to waste lots of money on people being too lazy to drive themselves to spending a lot on fuel is part of making it seem justified as an expensive experience
tahoe is rough and archaic
>Has it been in production for almost 100 years like the Suburban?
the problem is it hasn't been updated much in 100 years

I get it. I don't need a "proper" SUV. I just want the ground clearance and bigger tires and AWD so I can drive over wet grass sometimes. So if I can get in a crossover with better mpgs and a better ride then that's cool
>>
>>28798665
Apparently the fuel economy on the Tacoma and Tundra is pretty abysmal - like 275 mi between fillups vs ~ 425 for the Kia. And that's with the 4 cylinder hybrid.
>>
>>28799396
>425 for the Kia
That's paying way too much for such a shitty car. How many fire extinguishers are you going to throw in for that price?
>>
>>28799408
It's not shitty or it wouldn't be so popular despite it's brand name having a shitty reputation.

>>
>>28799423

How many "can catch fire while parked" recalls have they gotten? Because those types of recalls aren't normal. Except for shitty cars like hyundai and kia.
>>
>>28799425
You still look at it while you're walking up to it, and you still know you're driving an ugly wart. The only way around this is teleporting into your car.
>>
>>28799439
I just don't care because there's other much more important factors besides looks.
>>
>>28798665
It doesn't matter what you "need". You're stupid to pay more for an inferior vehicle that doesn't achieve anything over the superior option.

It's not "superior" though. It's better at some things and worse at other things. It might be better at the things you want it to be better at but if it's worse at the things I want it to be good at then it's inferior.

That was the lie for years and for years that lie continued to be a lie.
>>28799556

Is that better than buying a real car that doesn't need a recall to keep from self igniting? Also, when is a recall issue not free? Oh, and also... some of those car fires happened after the free recall failed to keep the car from self igniting without any sort of collision.
>>
>>28799566
>That was the lie for years and for years that lie continued to be a lie.
none of your videos showed it affecting the newest generation kias (k3 platform)
>Is that better than buying a real car that doesn't need a recall to keep from self igniting?
yeah cuz you get a better car otherwise
>>
>>28799571
>none of your videos showed it affecting the newest generation kias (k3 platform)
Did you know those recalls happen AFTER the problems are identified? You apparently don't. That makes you very stupid.
Every single kia model prone to catching fire started off as a new generation without any known fire without collision problems. Every. Single. One.
>yeah cuz you get a better car otherwise
Most people consider a car that doesn't self ignite to be a better car.
>>
>>28799585
So you agree that the fire issue does not affect any K3 platform cars?

>>
>>28799605

When the older ones that caught fire were still new gen, the same was true. Doesn't help the people who had their kia catch fire, did it?
>>
>>28799609
anon, its a totally different platform
the ingredients that led to fires don't exist in newer kias

>>
>>28799657

so I'd say yeah, it's not an actual issue
>>
>>28799663
>well, it hasn't been reported as a problem in the newer ones at all...
So the non impact fire recall over the fuel pump in the 2025 kia sportage wasn't recent enough? 2025 feels like it was just over a week ago...
>>
>>28799667
im not saying they are perfect, but they aren't the only manufacturer with recalls, and that recall you mention only affects 600 cars. unlike toyota, which fucked up making engines and has no fix for their issues caused supposedly by machining dust
>>
>>28799677
>but they aren't the only manufacturer with recalls
non impact fire recalls? That's different than the infotainment screen sucking. Very different.
>>28799677
>and that recall you mention only affects 600 cars
which means they are still plagued with new reasons for issuing recalls over non impact fire risks as recent as last year
>>28799677
>unlike toyota, which fucked up making engines and has no fix for their issues caused supposedly by machining dust
The camry hybrid problem is more comparable. If they continue to have non impact fire problems for the next decade, they will be as bad as kia.

getting the windows broken by kia boys because kia saved pennies by "forgetting" to install the engine immobilizer in the US. Kia made cars that could be stolen with a phone charger. They weren't stolen for parts or to be sold, they were stolen because there was gas in the tank. Once the kia ran out of gas, it would be abandoned. Because even free kias aren't worth the cost of gas to keep running.
>>
>>28801753
>getting the windows broken by kia boys
doesn't apply to the k3 platform ones - they all have immobilizer
>>
>>28801756
Not being vulnerable to the exploit won't stop some retard from breaking the window in and trying. Plenty of Kias that weren't vulnerable to the exploit got their windows broken out during the height of the Kia boys bullshit, and it's still happening to this day but at a lower rate.
>>
>>28801759

Don't tell me, tell the idiots who remember how easy it used to be and how long it used to be that easy. They are the ones breaking windows while carrying a cell phone charger.
>>
>>28801762
>Anon, if that were true, you would hear a lot more about people breaking into random Kias.
It took the thieves making tiktok videos of how easy those cars are to steal for any of this to be heard in the first place. Kia boys aren't making videos about how easy it is to break a window but not steal a car.
>>
>>28801766

You do hear about that. Especially back when it was new. It was a huge thing.

>>28801846
You don't hear about people breaking into NEWER Kias that cannot be hotwired because people were confused and thought they could be just because its a Kia.
>>
>>28801865
>that cannot be hotwired
Kias weren't hotwired. You just had to unclip a plastic cover to pop out the locking mechanism. The key going into the ignition was more decorative than providing any real security.
>>
>>28801865
It's died down a lot but yes, you did actually hear about people breaking into newer Kias not vulnerable to the exploit all the time back when it was hot. These people are retards and thought "Kia badge = free car". Even now you still occasionally see it happen.

>>28801876
>Kias weren't hotwired.

kinda impossible to prove like WHY someone stole a vehicle unless they tried to rip off the start stop button I guess thinking it could be taken that way

There was no electronic fuckery required. A USB A connector just happens to sort of fit over the nub on the ignition switch that the ignition cylinder turns, and the ignition cylinder is mostly plastic so you can just rip the column cover and cylinder off to access it. There is no data transfer over USB and the nub can be turned by other things like pliers too, the meme is just the USB cable because everyone has one of those.
