Four months ago I paid $7500 for a 2013 4-door hatchback Impreza. It's got aids or something because the oil light was on, I changed to 10w30 and it stopped. The check engine light came on, my mechanic says it's a timing code and cleared it. Didn't come back on for months. I got a flat tire, replaced all tires, check engine and dynamic traction control light come on together. I took it to a Subaru dealership and the guy noticed a rapid ticking sound. Instead of fixing anything he just added a quart of oil and told me to drive it to see if the lights would turn off on their own. And he said the motor was going to go at some point and leave me stranded okay bye have a nice day. Tomorrow I'm taking it back to tell them adding oil didn't magically fix my shitbox.I need a new car. This thread is for everyone who wants advice on choosing.I have wanted a WRX for a long time. I just got a good job for the first time in my life and will be able to afford it. But I just found out the STI was discontinued and looking at all the recent models is just painful. I live in Massachusetts so I really want AWD. I want something that will make 18 year old girls wanna fuck me. And I want something that is mechanically reliable as fuck. I'm not concerned with high end performance. Some modern conveniences like remote start and heated steering wheel would be nice. I quit driving in 2009 and just started again so these goddamn ipads and rear cameras and in-dash navigation systems seem like stupid annoyances. I could come around to a navigation system. But I saw people getting ads on their screens and said fuck that. I want buttons and knobs goddamn it.What do you guys recommend? In the parking lot where I work there is a gorgeous WRX in pearlescent white with a big wing on the back. But I'm fucking sick of buying used and getting surprises. I just bought this shitbox and 6 months of use will have cost me 7.5k. It's stupid to gamble like that and pay so much more for a worse car.
>>28801151Porsche 911
>>28801151>And I want something that is mechanically reliable as fuckWell don't buy another Subaru then
>>28801151>subaru fucks him up>gets another subaruyou might want to talk to someone about this. and if other WRX drivers are anything to go by these will only attract underage b8.
>>28801175>>28801190They are mechanically reliable. The problem is this thing had 157k miles on it and three previous owners. I bought it from a pajeet small car lot.
>>28801151>I want something that will make 18 year old girls wanna fuck me.>I just bought this shitbox and 6 months of use will have cost me 7.5k.Get a Mustang. It's the ultimate car for impressing stupid people who don't know anything about cars, like 18yo girls. The cost of your used car could have been depreciation on a new car. With how high used prices are, it almost never makes sense to buy used unless you are turbo-poor (shouldn't even own a car in that case). Use might only be $2K less up-front, but you miss out on a warranty, pristine new car, un-chipped paint, no door dings, etc. And ackthually, new is often CHEAPER than used because new cars are often deeply discounted (5K off new Camrys, 15% off new Mustangs = 7-10K off, etc.). If you're not turbo-poor but just sorta poor, and financing as opposed to paying all cash, well you get better financing with new cars too."Used cars" is an industry that makes poor low-IQ people even poorer. Never buy used.
>>28801151>4-door hatchbackthat's called a 5-door
>>28801220A mustang would be a great pussy magnet, but it's awful for a massachusetts winter.
>>28801202>157k milesBro this is not that much.
>>28801151>I want something that will make 18 year old girls wanna fuck me.Dear lord have some self respect
>>28801151>subaru
>>28801236i drove rwd v8s in ma winters for years. it teaches you how to drive. just get good tires.
V6 chally wally awd
>>28801151What I recommend is a Mitsubishi Mirage or Nissan Versa with a manual.
I went to the dealership and they confirmed what the previous tech said. The engine is gonna go and I'm gonna get left stranded somewhere.I'm not seeing any compelling alternatives.Mazda speed 6 came to mind... but I'm not feeling it. I just looked up the SRT-4 and the Mitsubishi Lancer, they don't make those anymore. I have been out of the auto market for 20 years. What the fuck do people buy when they want a sports sedan?
>>28802600If you just want something sporty and don't care about FWD and want to save money, shop for an Elantra N. Around my city you can get brand new 2025s that have been sitting on lots for months for $31k. And they're pretty damn fun cars. Sure, you can do better, but not at that price point.
>>28801151>Tomorrow I'm taking it back to tell them adding oil didn't magically fix my shitbox.you buy an enthusiast car but know nothing about maintenance or repair? You deserve it faggot>so I really want AWDnah, you're just a pretender. If you were about that life, you would have gotten a more reliable machine. But you wont.>I want something that will make 18 year old girls wanna fuck me.if you couldn't make this happen with a piece of shit beater, what more with a nicer one? Not going to make it>But I'm fucking sick of buying used and getting surprises.yeah but you're broke and can't turn a wrench for shit. Go buy a cheap reliable usable car because pretending to be an enthusiast just ain't it for you chief. Fake ass poser. Subaru owners really are faggots
>>28802607I just checked a review for this. The front and rear bumpers are ugly as hell. There is some kind of reinforcing bar between the dash and the center console. What the fuck is up with that?Otherwise it looks great. The comments were all stories of people buying a Hyundai and the engine dying at less than 1k miles.
>>28801151An engine tick usually isn't the end of the world as long as you keep the RPM low. I've driven cars like this before for years. Techs are trying to scare you into buying new because they hate working on older cars. New cars are easier to work on because they have so many snesors and computers.
>>28802640There's also the check engine light and traction control lights though... And it's drinking .6 quarts of oil every 600 miles.Check out the rest of the nonsense. >>28802600
>>28802659dashboards are supposed to be lit up like a christmas tree, normal thing for all cars excluding toyota.
>>28802600>What the fuck do people buy when they want a sports sedan?Cadillac. But you're too much of a fag to get one anyway
>>28801151>It's got aids or somethingcongratulations, you and the car have something in common
Golf R mk7BMW 340i pre-LCI
>>28801220Shitty cars are never a good deal. New cars are a ripoff unless you're a total wrench let and/or have to have shiny new thing every few months. My truck is a 2015, bought for $20k ($54k sticker.) V8, 4wd with ELD, bumper tows 10k. Crew cab, Heated leather including the rear seats and the steering wheel, Panoramic moonroof, etc etc. So it's way more car than that poverty spec Camry for half the price. Do I have to put a few hundred bucks for brakes or a bearing or a sensor every now and again? Sure, but $0-$500/month in parts is way better than just having a $500/mo payment, unless you're retarded and can't into budgeting or saving.
>>28802600>What the fuck do people buy when they want a sports sedan?Used, mostly. Which is why the industry makes I think one remotely desireeable sports sedan and has it priced at roughly double what it should be. (Ct5 bw, $120k when it's basically just the newer hot version of the Holden commodore, whereas Chevy SS or Pontiac G8 gxp was under $40k. Even adjust for inflation and rounding up caddy should be ~$60k.)
>>28801151WRXs can be had at 0% for 60 months right now, until the beginning of February. If you live in a snowy area you'd need to immediately buy different tires to finish out the season as all the ones local to me come on dedicated summer tires.
>>28801220Yes and no, at the low end it's still better to buy used, but when it gets to the 20K range you are right, the APR on loans right now vs new car offers with low APR will make that lightly used lease return you're eyeing more expensive than just buying new.
>>28802669>Amerimuut>Sports sedanPlease shut the fuck up and stick to what you're good at, pick up trucks and suburban-sized SUVs. No one cares abotu sedans in america, much less american brands.
>>28801151>I want something that will make 18 year old girls wanna fuck meLook, I'll give you some advice because I remember being this way 20 years ago before I figure out women, hopefully you'll put it to use.Women don't care about your car, as a mater of fact they can feel it in their bones when you're trying to impress them with a car like a shark smells blood in the water, all it does is mark you as a potential simp.Women go through life coasting on the value of their pussy, I have a pussy, so you should take me to the movies, I have a pussy, so you should take me to dinner, I have a pussy, so we should move in together, I have a pussy so you should propose soon, I have a pussy, so we should have a big wedding, etc. What you need to do is force her to be more than what her pussy is. You do this with every single woman you meet, regardless of your desire to fuck them. Don't be a mysoginist or rude about it, just when they go "I have a pussy and you should do XYZ" your answer should be "nah"Women have no idea what to do with Nah, and it's gonna be a very effective filter for you, since the women who will never change will get themselves out of your life pronto when they realize "I have a pussy" doesn't work on you.The ones that stay at worst do the bare minimum, respect your autonomy as a human being, at best they might want to do something with you and they wanna keep trying.Tl;dr: show her that the price of admission is more than her pussy "you need to be this tall to get on the ride" style.
>>28801241it is when Pablo beats on it everyday with minimal maintenance

>>28803236>stick to what you're good atthe Europoor cannot understand and is afraid of the American 668HP, supercharged V8, rear-wheel-drive, sedan monstrosity and dreams he could afford one. Your garbage BMW doesn't count, KURWA!
>>28803271My friend in highschool had a rich dad that was into cars. He fucked a girl on top of a jag, and a viper.
>>28801202>They are mechanically reliable.Except it very clearly isn't.>I bought it from a pajeet small car lotevery used subie can smell a new owner and the cash in their wallet, idc how much anecdotal evidence you can provide, *any boxer* is inevitable to fail. You could nironically buy a used german car; theyll run you same amount in repairs and maintenance when out of warranty but at least it'll have an interior and badge worth giving a shit about.
>I quit driving in 2009 and just started againwhat were you in for OP
>>28802600The mechanics at the dealership as well as my roommate is telling me I should talk to the small used car lot I bought this from.I don't know what good could possible come of it. I imagine me saying the car was bad when they sold it to me and them saying sorry no refunds. Do people actually get their money back in situations like this?>>28803304I lived in downtown philly where I could walk to work. And then I spent 8 years in Spain, again walking to work.
>>28802600>What the fuck do people buy when they want a sports sedan?UhE28 M5, E30 325i, E36 M3 with subframe reinforcement, E39 530i on M-Sport suspension (perfect out of the box and the best sports sedan overall that there is), E46 M3 with subframe reinforcement, LCI E90 M3 Competition or N54 335i (the last amazing 3 Series dynamically), F10 M5 Competition (the last great BMW)
After watching a couple hours of youtube reviews on the wrx and what a piece of overpriced crap they are, I'm considering a Civic. Probably the hybrid sedan. What do you guys think? Is giving up AWD a big deal? I live in MA which is snowy as fuck, hilly and curvy.
>>28803622get the Type R you dumb fuck
>>28803781I don't like the seats. I'd rather have the heated leather seats, heated steering wheel, moon roof, wireless phone charger, and interior.
