Would manual option make sense for luxury cars, at least in faster trims?
>>
>>28801468
Not really.
>>
The point to a luxury car is to forget that you're driving it and when you realize you are you look around the surroundings and appreciate/critique whatever is in the interior. Manual is better 9/10 but automatic (no paddle dct) is that last 1 when it comes to luxury cars.
>>
It completely depends on what it is and what you want it for. Big comfy GT cruiser for long miles. Most likely an auto. Sports car for a spirited drive down lovely country lanes. Probably a manual. On track trying to go as fast as possible? Yeah double clutch is what you want. Customer should be allowed to choose between a manual or autobox.

The average buyer age is 60+ go and survey all the elders in your life what kind of tranny they want in their benz
>>
>>28801468
If you're expected to drive it yourself it's not a real luxury car.

Have you ever exchanged a V-card with Mack Maine?
>>
The CT5 blackwing exists but honestly the auto might be the way to go
Its a boat with a supercharged v8, you want effortless power, not to really be involved.
>>
>>28801903
As someone with a different modern GM manual V8 boat, no, I want to be involved. It's already effortless power regardless.

>luxury car is to forget that you're driving it
Just hire a driver and ride in the back if that's what your after. I think there's a market for big and comfy while also being fast and fun.
>>28801498
I don't want to know about Grandpa's kinks.
>>28801903
Just get a Prius or a Tesla or whatever. If you don't want to be involved it's a bit silly and wasteful to bother with a (big, supercharged) v8.
>>
>>28801468
That would make zero sense whatsoever. It would be just as stupid as a manual SUV.

I think so too

Not sure what point you're attempting to make here.
The sound alone is a reason to buy the car.

Which one?

I love that M8

I had a suspicion it was you even though you hadn't posted in a while lel
Its just personal preference anyway.
Maybe if youre comfortable with both equally, resale value is always higher on the manual because autists will pay extra for it.
But i personally prefer a full size sedan like a 392 charger/300 delivering big power through an auto though.

Wouldn't it be good for better control off road?
>>
manual transmissions that can handle that much power are a pain to operate

its pretty funny that americans rebadge these with holden stuff, in australia people put chevy badges on their holdens and its seen as gay and cringe.

Why is it always some poorcunt who thinks they are some rich oldmoney royal
>>
>>28802334
Mainly because people think they're just any other gay and cringe Malibu with the Chevy badge on it here
>>
>>28801468
The only reason is so that in 30 years time some s0ifaced youtuber will make an overhyped video on some 1-of -1 "true enthusiast spec" unicorn manual limo so that a company he's affiliated with can sell it for 4x market value.
>>
Yes, could you imagine how easily and smoothly a long-wheelbase one of those with a big engine could drift? It'd be majestic.
>>
>>28801468
Yes it would make sense to hire Manuel to drive you around in luxury car.
If you get lucky he starts screwing your wife which will give you more personal time.
It's a win-win really.

Hey man, some people go their entire lives obsessing over what "won't make others think they're gay."
Every choice they make, from their posture, to brand of microwave dinners, to how they type online, to car brands.
The funny thing is, IME, these type of dudes are *disgusted* by the idea of cunnilingus with a grown woman. Really makes you think, doesn't it?
>>
>>28802375
I was merely playing off >>28802334's wording, take it up with him.

If I'm spending house money on a car, I would like to make sure I can option it like I want. If I want a MT, I should be able to get one
