>one of the technicians waves me over the look at something on his laptop
>the vehicles are limited to 170km/h. That's what wide open throttle gets you
>at the longest stretch, he'd been wide open for 14 and a half minutes without lifting at all.

supremely based

gay as hell
every motorsport should have a true unlimited class, I don't care if the spectators need to be 5 miles away in bunkers, I want to see the absolute pinnacle of modern engineering
>>
>>28802573
You say that but even heavy box on wheel nascar's take wing if they aren't knee capped. You want to see the pinnacle of modern engineering? Look into planes.

>gay as hell
sadly all motorsports has gay limits now

Multiple broken limbs but who cares as that's obligatory
But no deaths so this is a new record

It's really not. It's the special olympics version of the Baja 1000. The fact that you can do it in a car shows how much of a joke it is. Cats shit in sandboxes.
>>
>>28802700
Look man, I love Johnny Cambell and the big red pig as much as the next guy, but really? Outlawing prerunning and 2 weeks straight of racing is special olypmics now? I guess you can call whatever those guys have as the retard strength equivalent of land nav.

What if we bring the spectators closer?

>>28802573
I stopped watching last year because someone got penalized for having too high of an average speed. It's a fucking race.

2 weeks of driving over some flat sand vs 1000 miles of whoops and terrain that can easily disable your vehicle.

I mean, it does take place on public land and public roads. Definitely gay and homosex tho.
>>
>>28802433
its worth getting into baja/west coast desert racing. races almost every single month and lots of grassroots spectating standing 15' away from the track at some SNORE/SCORE races. almost every spec vehicle has live streaming now too
>>
>>28802748
>some flat sand
Well, your route is as flat as you choose it to be. Just try and keep your mean speed over 100kph to stay competitive. Hell, Meoni used to keep it over 120kph, but I don't think we'll see probably ever see those days again.

>every motorsport should have a true unlimited class, I don't care if the spectators need to be 5 miles away in bunkers, I want to see the absolute pinnacle of modern engineering
you could sell this idea to rich arabs and have a rally from dubai to kuwait or something
>>
>>28802849
Someone call MBS and get him to organize races along T H E L I N E
>>
>>28802842
Trophy trucks average 60mph over the 1000 miles and the terrain is 1000x worse. You have actual trails to follow instead of an open sand box.

It's not, got too "professional" and lost appeal, just like F1.
I would ban those bog money custom made cars and only allowed modified stock.
>>
>>28802453
TCR is fun. cars are fairly cheap so the race drivers aren’t too concerned about damage which in turn means aggressive racing
>>
I don't understand the appeal of modern Dakar. The original Paris-Dakar was cool-- normal people driving all kinds of cars through exotic locales. The modern Dakar is rich people driving tightly restricted race cars in a circle in Saudi Arabia. The 20k euro entrance fee and asinine application process (picrel from https://storage-aso.lequipe.fr/ASO/motorSports_ccr/dakar-2026-example-of-an-application-file-en.pdf) might be justified if they were consistently selling out all the available slots, but they don't. It's sad how they went from the original Paris-Dakar to this.

>should have a true unlimited class
Multiple racing series have an unlimited class in the U.S.
>>

5 miles away in bunkers?
