stop being a bitch and get an actual Mitsubishi Lancer Evo which is cheaper and better.
>>
>>28802485
is "building" something close to an evo out of an es/gts lancer (sans AWD and possibly 4B11T if no swap) a decent approach too, or would the costs of such an endeavor still be better spent on just outright buying an evo
>>
>>28802502
All the important mechanical components on an Evo are different (including the chassis/body) so you might as well start with another compact with better aftermarket like a Civic because you are not getting close regardless.

Closest you can get is buying an 08+ Ralliart, engine/trans is same as evo MR but smaller turbo, smaller intercooler, slightly different rear diff, etc.

Be prepared to shill out 6k when the shift fork falls off or the mechatronic unit an heros
>>
N's are good because the engine is made in the korean plants instead of by retards in south carolina or whatever.
Its basically a type R except 10k cheaper.
I bought one used so some other retard took the initial depreciation hit.
>>
>>28802526
>Its basically a type R except 10k cheaper.
Honestly almost $20k cheaper, I can find brand new Ns marked down $5k off MSRP all day long.

i hear lots about the SSTs in those and as much as i think a ralliart would suit me they never had manual options like previous gens and thats what puts me off desu. just preference really.

an evo in good condition will not be cheaper than an elantra n in any planet unless you live in japan

It's nice and all but weird that they update the Elantra with the K4 and update the Kona into a whole new generation but don't migrate the N engine upgrades.

It's a gussied up FWD Korean economy sedan priced at the level of RWD entry level luxury sedans, (manual) sports sedans like the WRX, and RWD coupes like the Ecoboost Mustang. I'll let you decide, think of this as an IQ test of sorts. FWD trannyverse gookshit or literally anything else?
>>
>>28802562
There's no way anyone would think this, this is just a Korean Nismo Juke
>>
it’s among the most fun road cars you can buy right now, regardless of price
>>
>>28802562
I drove one of these and it was pretty impressive. the amount of lift off oversteer fun is unachievable in any other fwd car I have ever driven, this includes modded GTIs and Type R‘s

Should I get a 2024 N Line? My local hyund-gay dealership has one for 21k, manual, used 1 owner car. Im looking for a 'fun' car

Its not gonna grenade on me or catch fire like the 2010s models?
>>
>>28802484
>Elantra N
It's actually not bad for a FWD.
A buddy has one on 200tw that he does autocross with. Very talented driver, a Spec Miata racer since like the 2000s.

But the N is still FWD, so no matter how good it is; it's still a flawed experience.
>>
>>28802675
no. get the proper N or don’t bother. they are completely different cars
>>
>>28802675
what about a used elantra gt turbo?
or the K4 GT with the same 1.6T engine. Just any of the small hoons with the 1.6T really.
>>
>>28802675
It's a Hyundai, it absolutely will grenade and catch fire.
>>

>>28802765

Touring cars are based on production cars, but are not actual production models. The only real requirement is that the overall chassis of the vehicle (sans required roll cage) and a mostly un-modified engine are the same as consumer variants.

Can't do it. If it's an econobox or crossover or whatever I don't care. But if I'm spending tens of thousands of dollars on a performance car it has to be RWD or at least AWD.
>>
>>28803912
You can get them new for just a hair over $30k if you shop around and bargain. They're often listed for mid $31k, just gotta bargain a little more and unlike other dealerships Hyundai/Kia often will go for it.
>>
>>28803920
>just gotta bargain a little more
Go in when it's a fire sale.
Just don't park near anything flammable that you care about.

Purchasing a Hyundai in the modern day isn’t even a poor financial choice anymore, it’s an ethical failing of the soul to reward a company making abhorrent products like this. You have to be inwardly ugly to purchase something outwardly ugly such as this.

Those two, as much as they have become plastic imitations of anything they previously produced, still offer traditional drive train setups with somewhat acceptable displacements. Hyundai has none of that to cling to.

shame how all "british carmakers" are now just jeet/chink/saudi shell companies making useless electric cars

I guess you have Ineos, but they screwed up by having recirculating ball steering and getting the low hp variant of the BMW 6.

for real. it looks like one of those 100hp cuckboxes but it handles like the i30N which blows everyone’s minds. On top of that they are pretty good tuning platforms. The theta-II engine is rock solid and makes 360hp with just a remap. it’s also proven in the 24h of burgerking races where it’s been dominating for the past few years.
people are truly missing out on those cars just because of the Hyundai badge

Not surprising for a shill here to suggest a warranty ending remap on the motor that just got a court ordered extended warranty due to the engine being too shitty.
