One of Florida's biggest racetracks has recently banned electric vehicles from racing on their drag strip. Reasons include
>The battery may release toxic and flammable gas after a collision
>First responders may not be able to confirm that the car is "off"
>The car poses electrocution hazard
Among others.

So pretty much similar reasons to why every strip requires a battery disconnect on the outside of the vehicle x100 because the battery of an EV is effectively napalm upon a hard enough collision. Pretty sure Tesla and Ford are the main offenders on the door unlock issue, I haven't heard complaints like that from other manufacturers but they don't make "performance" EVs like those two.

That's because it's a PHEV. I agree if they're banning BEVs they should ban PHEVs for the same reason -- too much battery. But traditional hybrids and performance hybrids have much, much, much smaller batteries because the battery only serves as a temporary storage unit in between the two motors instead of as a long term energy storage to be charged externally.

By easily accessible I mean not having to dig around inside of a mangled body to grab and pull out a potentially damaged cable live with 400+ volts DC that I have to then cut myself with the set of insulated bolt cutters I carry around with me.
