Are pre-purchase inspections a meme? How would getting one even work logistically for a desirable car that will be off the market in a week or two?
>>28805358They're useless
>>28805360that looks like a bit of a problem
>>28805360Here's how it'll go:If you're buying from a used car dealer, they'll only let you go to the manufacturer for a ppi. You schedule it and tell them and they take the car there to be "inspected." Their inspections are fuckin useless thoughMaybe if you go to an actually good mechanic for a ppi, if you get it from a private party, that mechanic will probably tell you to stay away from certain unreliable cars Your best bet is to get all the maintenance records to make sure the owner actually cared about the car before buying itAnd do the rod bearings on any ///M car before 80k miles
>>28805358>How would getting one even work logistically for a desirable car that will be off the market in a week or two?I've never bought any vehicle nice enough to warrant a PPI but I would imagine if there are 10 people lined up behind you willing to buy the vehicle without an inspection the seller would tell you to go pound sand.
>>28805358If you want a rare and desirable car, you'll have to skip that stage and race to the sellers property with enough funds to secure it. Never tell the seller that you hotfooted it there.
how to ppi>use your eyes
>>28805358>Are pre-purchase inspections a meme?Seems like it. It's not like they're going to pull all the spark plugs and scope all the cylinders or do a compression test or pull the tranny pan to check the magnet for metal debris. The rest of the inspection is just checking for leaks, excessive rust or excessive play in components which you can check yourself.
>>28805444i pp in ur i lol!
just yolo it and buy without inspecting
