Is buying 2004 E61 with M57D25TU still good idea in 2026? I want a reliable daily. The engine seems to have good opinions, but on the other hand it's a 22 years old car. My current car, A4 B5 is 28 years old and for the past 15 years it required next to no work. It's pretty basic though, in terms of equipment. E60s are usually quite stacked. Any of you drive any of those? how much is the yearly maintenance on them?
>>28805668Get one in manual, the zf autos in these are failure prone and don't handle abuse well.
>>28805758yeah, the one i'm looking at is in manual, supposedly no active steering either
>>28805668ugly and gay as fuck, buy an e39 530d instead
>>28805668Just buy a new one.If you can't afford it new, you can't afford it 22 years old.
>>28805807I can afford either, but I'm not retarded. I would rather make money work for me than make it sink in a depreciating asset. So if you can't stay on topic, why even post anything
>>28805820So you can't afford it then. Thanks for clearing that up.By the way, there is nothing more expensive than a cheap, ancient, clapped out, used german car
>>28805777fuck e39's, if it's not a 540i or an m5 they aren't worth owning.
>>28805823>So you can't afford it then.I've got no debts, paid out property and signifcant amount of cash invested in stock market. But what it's to me if you believe me or not. I don't care.my current german "clapped out" car cost me maybe $1000 in maintenance, the last 15 years. I can buy E60 with that engine for around $2500. It would be a tad nicer. And my question was what anons think about it. you don't seem like a thinking person. Begone.
