My friend starts early retirement and he wants to buy some weird, 3-wheel motorcycle thing to ease the pain of broken dreams and to move him to the rest of his life. Yeah, that's retarded and I'll have to speak with him.But just to make sure: only answer is Miata, right?
>>28805690new ones yes old ones no because they're cool and gay.
>>28805699>cool and gay
>>28805690>Yeah, that's retarded and I'll have to speak with himIf he likes it why not?
>>28805717>pic rel vs roadster
the only thing anything less than 4 wheels will do is cause more pain when you get into an accident after driving over grass clippings and suffer before dying
>>28805690A Miata or a brz
>>28805690reddit, the car. If he can afford it I don't see why something like a corvette wouldn't be more ultimate
>>28805756>corvetteHe lives in Europe. Just like me.
Tell him to get a zl1 convertible in rapid blue
>>28805764barbie car gay edition
>>28805733Niken is cool but expensive
>>28805763ok BM2 m2 or something then
big turbo will not bring back what has already been gapped
>>28805785Euro dream car is 911 convertible, but for it's price you can get small house in Southern Europe along with Miata.
>>28805764that just looks wrong
I bought a 911 at 37 for mine
>>28805690miata is fine if you're young and brokean older, presumably better off, gentleman should be looking at a c8 (emphasizing sportyness) or a proper grand tourer like an SL/8series/a7 (except not anymore, because the suck, tell him to buy a c8)
>>28805690>You'r supposed to have money in your midlifeSo no
>>28805826>house in Southern EuropeHolly copeUnless Tukey is what you call south europe
>>28806001there's more to southern europe than the french riviera, anonfor the price of a top-end 911, ~300k or so, you can totally swing a condo in a cheap area of portugal/spain/italy/greece. not a fucking villa in mykonos, sure, but a modest 1/2br apartment at walking distance to the beach is definitely doable.
>>28806007>I want a 911>I have to buy a brand new top-end 911Ok
>>28805996>miata is fine if you're young and brokeMidlife crisis usually comes when you still have family, like teenage kids who need your financial support. You need some toy that will make you feel younger, but you're too old for used Golf gti. Something like Miata is sweet spot imo.Being rich old fart is something different.
>>28806032I buy my first Porsche for 23k€ at 25yoWTF are you talking about
>>28806020Still, instead of used 911 you can get used Mazda and some old shack for at Mediterranean. That shack will need renovation but it's still somehow comparable to maintance of old Porsche.
>>28806035I suppose it served you long? My first was old Merc 124, but I wouldn't buy something like that for fun.Until of course wrenching is your type of fun?
As a second car? Sure, I could see it. As an only car? Ultimate Euro midlife crisis car is probably a 340i
>>28806041>Porsche 911 carrera S 3.8 997>42000 €>MAZDA MX-5 MAZDA MX5 ND 2.0 Skyactiv-G - 160 ch ROADSTER>17 000 €Show me your 25000 € shackAnd we compare a 4 seats GT to a 2 seat cabCan found Boxster at the same price rangeYou must be a weeb to buy a Mazda over a Porsche in Europe
>>28805764looks like the square car meme
>>28806068>Show me your 25000 € shackDude, there are literally 1 euro houses in Italian villages. My friend bought one and when he was done with renovation it costed him around 20k (however he did most of the work himself). It's not year-round house so it doesn't need fancy stuff like heating or insulation (however you could theoretically survive Italian winter with gas or electric heater). It's far away from the sea, but that's exactly what roadster is made for.>You must be a weeb to buy a Mazda over a Porsche in Europe...or Toyota over Maserati. Same logic.
>>28805996Corvettes are trashy manchild shit.
>>28806068nta>25k shackyea, no, that's not a thingfor a couple hundred k, aka the price of a high trim, high spec 911, sure, you can get something decentnot for 25k>You must be a weeb to buy a Mazda over a Porsche in Europeare you fucking retarded?do you have ANY idea what gas costs here? (spoiler: > $8 per gallon)or how much more expensive parts are?or how much it costs to insure a porsche?not to mention that in many parts of europe, cars are taxed based on displacement, and anything north or 2 liters is assraped to hell and back?there's VERY good reasons for a euro to stick to the mazda, and its not the 25k difference in price.ps: if anyone here works at the pentagon, please nuke us. please.
NA/NB Miatas gave gotten stupid expensive here in US/Canada. Go for an NC. More comfortable, more airbags, still tiny relative to today's cars. Best priced cause it's the least popular. ND is cool. Do y'all get the 2.0 liter 181hp version they updated to in 2019 for the ND2 in Europe?
>>28806143I dunno, I find all the models between 1953-1982 to look pretty cool.
>>28805996C8 is like 1,500 lb heavier. I think a better "classy" comparison would be another lightweight roadster. Maybe a Morgan?
>>28806181>Do y'all get the 2.0 liter 181hp version they updated to in 2019 for the ND2 in Europe?A year or two ago it was deemed not kosher according to EU's law. Until next gen MX5 we're stuck with 130hp MT if you want brand new.
>>28805690>only answer is Miata, right?Miata is a good choice. Also think of a Seven as it's halfway between a Miata and a trike.
