Do you like the paint-matched WRX?
Personally, I think it's how it should have come from the factory instead of black plastic. >matching fender flares>matching bumper
it does make a significant difference. I didn't mind the cladding but this does look better.
i loathe the destruction of the trunk lid. every new car that comes out has less and less of a defined trunk lid, with it morphing more and more into an extension of the rear window into an ever higher rear end. it works on some cars, like 2 door fastbacks, but a sedan should have a defined trunk.
>>28805769It's a little better, but what would actually fix it is if they made them round instead of those fuckass softened octagons
>>28805769I prefer the stock contrast.
>>28805769yes>>28806050ew
>>28805769>>28805771>>28805773why are the wheels so smol?
>>28805769Looks fat as fuck like picrel. There is a reason they put black fender flares on nucars. They're all shaped like bloated walls of fat because we are in hell or something so they use black plastic to hide the bloat.
>>28806147They aren't. They're 18snu-cars are just fuckhueg so anything smaller than 20 inches looks comical
This is the proportions it should have if it was shaped correctly.
>>28805769No, but I like the Levorg/WRX Sportswagon that doesn't have the plastic shit to begin with
Only on some colors does it look better. Sadly no one actually spends the money on a real paint match, they just buy 3m taped body panels from china which are poorly painted. They all look like shit within 6 months. I don't even think they use 2k clear.
>>28805769>>28805771>>28805773It looks better, but at the same time it now looks more like a camry. It's just too visually bulky. The problem with black cladding is that it looks cheap and makes the wheel wells look bigger and thus the wheels look smaller, which is bad for proportions with a bloated looking modern car like the WRX. You want to maximize the visual size of the wheels with relation to the slab-sided and chunky body. Not make the wheel wells look bigger and the wheels smaller.
Nah
>>28805769Isn't the plastic textured? That's got to be irritating as fuck to sand smooth.
>>28805769Either way the wheel wells and rear bumper are still tragic.
No, I do NOT like the PAINT-MATCHED wrxI don't like UNPAINT-matched wrxAll different kinds have wrxs are uglyslowgay as FUCK pikachu bullshits for ricelet stancelet slowfaglet boyracelets
>>28806465You don't sand the texture off the plastic. Plastic primer then spray poly. You sand the polyester layer.
>>28805769>>28805771>>28805773yeah it's a huge improvementdoes highlight how awkward the passenger cell had to be for crash safety, but it's far better than the cheap plastic. Maybe bigger tail lights or less of a rear bumper would help
>>28805769>>28805773>>28806050>>28806222Why are these all on lift-kits?>>28805771>>28806198>>28806281>>28806484>nooo these cars are LOWERED!!! You literally can't drive anywhere with a MODIFIED suspension!!!
here's the blue one with less bumper
>>28806497
>>28806050I think it depends on the color of the car too. The Black on WRB Pearl has grown on me.
>>28806465Most of these people buy shitty chink plastic panels from aeroflowdynamics painted by a minimum wage beaner with the cheapest paint in the world. But yes you the OEM panels are textured and it's probably aids to prep.
>>28805769>Do you like the paint-matched WRX?Its a definite improvement. I hate all the black plastic on the new Subarus.
It doesn't matter because there's only one decent bumper option for the VB at the moment and it probably requires the removal of the rear crash bar like the carbon bumper by AXIS. So you risk totaling your car from a low speed rear end for aesthetics.
>>28806050
>>28806549So much fuckin rice in this one angle alone
>>28805769Looks pretty good but I really don't like how they did the wing, I get what they were going for but it sits too far forward on the trunklid, the rear edge of the wing needs to be lined up with the edge of the trunk if not a little behind it. >>28805771 looks a little better but it could just be perspective.
>>28806549That doesn't look look any better
>>28805769Shouldn't have that body cladding in the first place.
>>28806596Kek wagons are so fuckin stupid looking godsDAMN
Replace it with carbon
>>28806612Is that even lighter than the plastic at that point? Carbon fiber is for replacing metal panels.
>>28805769Does it come with an IT degree?
>>28806612Kek why are these bullshits always riced the fuck out in the gayest ways
>>28806618No and a lot of times the carbon trunks and hoods are FRP and not full dry carbon so they're heavier than the aluminum they're replacing
>>28806621Only if you're asianIf you're white it comes with one have those faggy vape pens
>>28806484>>28806497Looks even better, yep >>28806577The VB wrx is more of a duckbill spoiler car than a wing in my opinion >>28806191>>28806195>bloatFor what it's worth, the WRX has some of the largest windows/ most glass out of any new compact sedan. I think it looks fine.
>>28806641>I think it looks fineYou're a tastelet. Just because you like something doesn't make it good
>>28806645Says the guy who likes the s 0y face bmw
>>28806647Says the girl who doesn't even have a fuckin car LOL
>>28806650> doesn't even have a fuckin carkeep yappin brown dog
>>28806653>posts picture of my collection from instagramnice try black or indigenous dog of color
I've heard wrx are fun to drive but are they actually worth it? Reliability wise am I good as long as I don't mess with the engine?Or should I just get a mazda 3 instead
>>28806680If you don't want to wrench I dunno if they're worth it now, unless you buy an unmolested one (nearly impossible unless automatic) But they're all I drive and I've enjoyed my time with them. GCs are starting to be not worth buying because almost all of them need a lot of work and have a stupid premium. GDs are still mostly good unless owned by a retard. I also own a VB and I've enjoyed my time with it so far but I enjoy learning the new FA (to me) platform.
>>28806680Modern Subarus are pretty reliable. I have a 2011 and its given me very few problems.Subaru trashed their reputation because their 4 cylinder engine had head gasket problems from like 2000 to 2010. You'll still hear people claiming Subaru's are unreliable and it all stems from what happened 20 years ago which Subaru should have fixed within a year or two; but let remain a problem for a decade..
>>28806684GC STis are pretty cheap if you get them ($15-20k) but being real they're just poorly built cars and the age is catching up. Phase 1 EJ20s have crankwalk issues and *some* NLA/Hard to Find parts like MAFs and Coils. Phase 2 EJ20s (ver5 or 1997+) are what I recommend looking for since there's more parts compatibility with 02-03 EJ205s + the engines aren't as highly tuned as EJ20Ks. Transmissions almost universally suck too. I'm looking to downgrade from a VA STi to a GC because its more fun to drive. VA is still a really analog mechanical car for a 2016 but its my newest car...it feels too physically big and I'm not really in love with it. >>28806680VB WRX is reliable and the engines are really cheap. Price out a replacement 2022+ WRX engine vs a GR Corolla or Type R engine. If its a year-round daily or your only car, go for the WRX. N is more fun imo and its not a bad car at all but you'll feel the FWD on a cold winter day or snow/bad rain.
>>28806680wrxs have terrible interiors and are simply too slow to daily (let alone be fun)https://youtu.be/9d3MdqMFSmI?t=638>fag lives where it snows>owns a gay miata and gay wrx>wrx is TOO SLOW LOLThe recommendation?>"E90 335i xdrive">"fuck yeah!">"'300ish horsepower'--more like 350">"rear biased gay-wheel drive system that allows you to be sideways at all times and helps you hold drifts">"and a manual">"I'm not one for turbo cars, but that N54 was fuckin' INSANE. That was a GREAT engine">"I wouldn't [recommend a wrx]; they're just too fuckin LAGGY"
>>28806686They also like to have catastrophic breakdowns that are really unpredictable with the EJ25s. Turbos more than N/A but it still catches normies by surprise because their oil consumption is more than normal for a car in its class and its really inconsistent (no oil consumption then suddenly a quart low). EJ25 Turbos are so bad there's a cottage industry to selling replacement engines for them in the form of IAG, Outfront, SixStar, etc. The 08+ were the worst about it
There's no saving it, VBs just look stupid
>>28806492Begone spic
>>28806684>>28806686>>28806688Okay let me rephrase itIf I want a brand new awd japanese sedan/coupe, is the modern wrx worth it or are there better options? I can't be bothered to wrench on cars >>28806689>simply too slow to dailyIf I wanted speed I would just take my bike instead
>>28806697>nooo wrxs are only for azn wannabe gangsta ballas!!!I'm not hispanic at all kek fuckin IT nerdball
>>28806699Its your only option if you want a new AWD Japanese car <$40,000 other than a GR CorollaIf its your only car its a better daily driver because its physically bigger inside.
>>28806699It's not about wanting speed, it's that the wrx is TOO SLOW to fuckin DAILYgodsDAMN that's fuckin SLOWBoOM, b0om, BOOMHear me cummin' through the radioWatch me go zoom, zoom, ZOOMTry to catch me, but you're too slowToo slow, too slow *GASP*
>>28806686>>28806690>EJ25sI've got a 3.6R H6 in mine. I was sad to see it discontinued and replaced with a turbo 4.>Turbos more than N/A but it still catches normies by surprise because their oil consumption is more than normal for a car in its class and its really inconsistentI will admit mine is pretty oil hungry. I change my oil at 3000 miles and I still find myself having to add a quart in when the low oil light comes on every now and then.>If I want a brand new awd japanese sedan/coupI'd suggest giving one a test drive. I haven't driven a current model WRX, so I'd be talking out of my ass if I told you it was or wasn't worth it.I can tell you that its not a terribly unreliable car and that personally I don't like the amount of black plastic trim it has on the exterior; but I can't attest to how it drives. An AWD Camry would probably be more reliable; but I doubt it would be as fun to drive.
>>28806710>I doubt it would be as fun to drivewrxs aren't fun to drive though
>>28806714I'd tell him to get a used Cadillac CT4 or CT5; but he said he wanted new, Japanese and under $40K.
>>28806716Tell her that her criteria is gay as fuck and that they should be: no gay eps, no gay touchscreens, STRAIGHT SIX (6), V8, or V12, and REAL-wheel drive
>>28806708>it's that the wrx is TOO SLOW to fuckin DAILYOkay but what about a le downpipe and tune to bump it up to 350-400hp on STOCK internals and STOCK transmission as well?
>>28806716>JapaneseI prefer them mostly for the reliability since all my bikes are from nippon and they've served me fine>$40KI'll go as far as 50k but more than that, I'd rather spend that money on guns and motorcycles insteadHonestly my "dream car" would be an A110 but the french cockroaches aren't selling in north mmerica yet and their first is said to be a fucking EV
