This has to be the worst part of driving
What am I looking at?t. yurobean
>>28807173toll roads and the various electronic tolling systems you need to drive them. Some allow for cash/credit but that's going away in a lot of places.
>>28807180so the gray states are good and the other ones are bad?
>>28807181Map was kinda fubar, here's another one. Not all states actually have toll roads. The white ones on this is mostly accurate of ones that don't toll at all on any road. The similar colored ones in theory should allow interop.
>>28807192so the landlocked flyover states are lowkey goated?really makes you think
Anyone else stop running their tag altogether?
>toll roads nmp
I'd say this is worse than toll roads mostly because you're not forced to use toll roads and not every state uses them. Similarly; even in states that do have them they're often relegated to dense urban areas for urbanites. That and the supernovae we use as headlights to sear my retinas at night. Toll roads are a complete scam and should be abolished as they prohibit my right to travel.
>>28807261>right to travelYou may have a right to travel, but as a representative of the legal corporation established by your birth certificate, you do not have a right to operate a vehicle commercially on public roads.
>>28807475>you do not have a right to operate a vehicle commercially on public roads.I'm already threatened with violence to pay taxes that are supposed to pay for roads, now you're saying theres another charge on top of that, but if I remove my plate I can face further violence?
This picture doesn't accurately describe the clusterfuck that is central Florida, wherein there's not only Sunpass but the competing E-Pass because for some reason there are two different highway authorities. I think both are now interoperable with EZ-Pass, but unfortunately you're not getting anywhere far without taking a toll road or tripling your trip time.
>>28807217What's a tag?
>>28807486This is the future Libertarians wantJust surrender to the invisible hand of the free marketAllow it to fully enter your rectum
>>28807170>Pay taxes for roads>State gets juicy federal interstate grants for supporting shit BLM and Troons>still have to pay $3 a day anywayAmerica
>>28807572>still have to pay $3 a day anywayno no no, there are parts of DFW that charge about $3 per mile. Express lanes? Sometimes $8 per mile. The real kicker in Texas is 100% of the toll roads in Dallas and Austin (not sure about houston) are owned by a company in Spain.
>>28807180I miss throwing change into the basket. Also when I was in college, I was thinking of getting a job as one of those people who sit in the booth. Seemed like a comfy job honestly.
>>28807170You sound like one of those Londis Losers, or are you one of those 'Murco Men', out there to STEAL MY SOUL with your so called Sodium Sulphate induced, Stone-cold Super Unleaded, Sutton Scotney style.
>>28807170>Toll roads in the southI remember a certain toll road around here that was a major tourist highway during season that used to cost $1.25 each trip over the bridge which for ease of access at the time wasn't that bad depending on where you lived and the time of year. In winter I don't even think they charged. In summer, it would be hours to get to the toll. Toll got bought out and they tried to charge $5.00 a pass after that. Woo boy we weren't happy and the only people that didn't care were mommy and daddy money kids coming down for spring break and summer traffic. That didn't last long for locals. It got bought out and torn down and it has been free for a couple years now. I remember a group of us literally just going over the bridge hitting a bar, going back over and hitting the same bar for god knows how long because it was free. This was a major access point to condos, beaches and literally everything important btw. Idk where I was going with this post but fuck tolls and roll tide I guess. I felt bad for all those people that bought year passes and it got torn down basically immediately after lol, tough shit
>tfw just found out today the whole country doesnt use ezPass
>>28807170EZPass doesn't work in Connecticut? Fuck, I'll be receiving some nasty letters pretty soon
WTF I just read up on toll roads and ezpass. I’m shocked you paranoid mutts are happily installing a tracker on your car.
>>28807501
>>28808129The gubbermint has untold numbers of cameras reading your license plate everywhere you go anyway. If you don't get a pass that is connected to a payment account you just get a bill in the mail because they read your plate, referenced your registration information, and got your name and address to mail you the fucker. The secret is just not driving on toll roads. You're still getting tracked everywhere you go, but you don't get a bill in the mail (yet.)
>>28807180Don't taxes pay for roads? Why would there be a toll?
>>28808270>
>>28807170there's EETS in europeyou'd think that it's a one unified system, with unified hardware and intergovernmental agreements but no, in typical european fashionEETS suppliers have to be accredited and sign an agreement with the toll system operatorEETS supplier can sign many agreements and are supposed to compete with eachotherusers of EETS are theoretically free to choose any EETS supplier they want, but it might not sign enough contracts to be attractive for usersEETS toll operators are just there waiting there for money and get their share from suppliersbecause european countries can't agree on anything technical and are falling into technological neutrality trap
>>28808270Or stop running a tag altogether. Cops don't give a shit anymore.>>28808333checked
>>28808270they track you on non-toll roads too lol
not a single nigger in this thread has a job
>28808447>Fuck me harder, daddy government!
>>28807170I didn't think there was many left but roadtripping has taught me otherwise. Ended up on one by accident in North Carolina when I was tired at night and didn't notice the previous signs if there were any. By the time I saw the sign it was too late. Only cost me $5, but I was annoyed because I don't think it actually saved me much time. I figured the ones that take pictures with a flash at night time would be pretty easy to fool if I had to deal with one regularly enough.
>>28808069We don't have tolls here
the only state in which the toll roads are unreasonable is PA. fuck you PA, it shouldn't cost more than a tank of gas to get across your (admittedly beautiful) state
