Are these legitimately worth their huge premium, or can you get 90% of the way there with a cheaper option?
>>28825561whats the weight and hp of your car?
I’ve ran both in a racing series, and I’d say they are pretty good! They are equal in all ways except the Continental is the slightest bit better in wet conditions.I’d say it’s worth it.
>>28825561I just buy the touring tire for daily road use. It's about 80% of the way there with none of the drawbacks.
>>28825561i think DWS06+ has proven to be absolutely fine, especially if the most you are doing is spirited street drivingthat said, the difference between them and PS4s's for my car is ~$150 for a set, so I've just gone with the michelins for the last two sets I've put onI think if it was more than probably 300 bucks I would go with the conti's
>>28825578which one was quieter?
conti's and bridgestone are. I feel less and less that michelins are.
>>28825587Not certain, my car had a loud exhaust.
>>28825561They are not equivalent tires. The PS4 equivalent is the SportContact 7; the Extreme Contact’s equivalent is the Cup
>>28825561Continental is currently slightly better imo but yes they are 100% worth it. >Cross Climate Best all season of all time for wifes >PS4SVery good but a bit scrubby when hot on track imo on my car>PSAS4Basically a PS4S that won’t fail if you expose it to snow and cold. It’s equal to a the PS4S below 60mph so it’s actually really good on most tracks even if you must. On a heavy car like a nu-M3 or RS5 it’s very good in snow with forward traction but braking isn’t close to a winter contact. >Exteme contact summer I think it’s better than PS4S because it holds up better in the heat for longer but I don’t think it’s better in ideal conditions or street conditions. Extreme contact all season I’ve had it but it was near end of life so I can only say it was good in winter and summer. I didn’t track it
>>28825561I've driven both on track and Autocross. In wet and dry conditions. Also on street cars.Either tire will not disappoint you.I think the 4S have a slight advantage in wear rates but not by alot.
>>28825561Probably more like 65% but for like a quarter of the price
>>28825739A garbage all season tire Ok anon, >>28825754The difference in price is $110 a set on my Lexus.$27 a tire. Not enough to sway my decision.
>>28825739Goodyear, pirelli, kumho all copied the crossclimate 2 kekBridgestone didn't with their weatherpeak and it's not as good
>>28825594hmm, which one was more comfortable?
>>28825581sorry anon, which one is that
>>28825794OP is asking about the tires in his pic compared to the cheap dogshit, not comparing the high end ones
yes, sort of. mid range name brand tires are like 90% as good as the top of the line, but chinky tires are garbagehttps://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre-Tests/2025-EVO-Summer-Tyre-Test.htm
>>28826921You get 75% of the way there with China tires. For whatever reason chinks can't into Tires
>>28827175So exactly what I first said?
I've got dws06+ they're fine, more traction than the car can break generally ('19 WRX base) but God they suck dick in the snow.
>>28827180Sure, whatever
>>28825561>~$200 per tire, less with rebate>huge premiumhuh?
>>28827175Imagine going anywhere but only getting 3/4 of the way
depends on what you'll be doing with them. they're both overkill, especially the PS4S, for the street. get a cheaper and shittier tire and have more fun.
>>28825803>crossclimate 2I have that and it's great for snow and rain but not so great for mud and dirt. Can't win everything. But for an all season what would one expect.
ND2 with 225, r18 with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6super happy how they perform on track, wet, cold.want R16 TE37 but nobody makes good all round high performance summer tire in 16".new TE37 in 17" is just not the same.
>>28827349Yeah me personally I just do street hooning or at worse I break the speed limit on a highway, I don't track. I don't see a single reason to spend money on high end tires
>>28829241i did and regret it. car was much more fun to drive on worse tires.
