I'm looking to buy my first project car, and pic rel just showed up in my area, except the one around me has the factory BBS wheels. 60k miles and listed for 10k but I figure I could get it for 8500. I've always liked Saabs because I'm a contrarian, but is the 9-3 viggen actually a good car?

>swallows valve
It's not and especially not for 10 grand, holy shit

What is a good price for this then? Keep in mind that I am in burgerland and cheap manual cars are genuinely very difficult to find

why not buy a volvo or something if you really want to be a contrarian, at least the company is still alive. No men drive volvos

wut? just go to the dealership and get a new manual muscle car. It's even cheaper than the shitty saab

It's a cool car, but I don't know if I'd be willing to spend 10k on it. Then again, I'm a cheapskate and I usually like my cars ran through and project candidates.

>go to marketplace
>vehicles
>car/truck
>transmission type
>manual
Wow, very hard.
>>
Yeah it's a great """"project car""" for sure, it'll drain your wallet forever

It'll teach you humility and how to wrench at least. Also a lot of patience trying to get the piece of shit running.
Also good luck trying to find parts for it.
>Dude let's use cheap and plentiful GM parts
>Except let's modify them all a bit so they aren't cross compatible with any GM parts
>Genius, this will surely save our dying company
>>
>>28828196
>GM: alright FUCKERS you're on a leash. Just FACELIFT the car. NO exceptions!
>Saab: redesigns every body panel making it incompatible since it's slightly thicker so it's more safe and corrosion resistant. Also keeps the same body lines. No these won't fit on the GM twin equivalent. Also the unibody is completely different to pass a moose test so it's essentially a new car anyway.

If malicious compliance was a company.

its a bad idea because you're a casual and you're buying a speciality unique enthusiast car that you can't get most parts for without a decent amount of internet shopping. $10k w/60k miles and manual is a great price but the problem is YOU are the one interested

get a miata like everyone else or a bmw/vw if you love pain (at least their parts are easy)

There's a reason they died. Everyone keeps screeching GM bad, but they're forgetting that GM was the only thing keeping that company alive, they never turned a profit and were incredibly stubborn and insistent on being special snowflakes
>Okay you swedish fuckers, meet Opel and play nice with them
>And we know you wanna be super fucking special so we got alfa romeo in the mix
>Please for the love of god just make a car that shares parts with alfa and opel
Hmm yes yes very interesting proposition, free parts and we only have to do slight research and development ourselves, it's practically free money. Let's not do that and instead the only thing our engine shares with other GMs are the ignition coil stems and transmission bell housing bolt pattern.
