How is this 2000 pounds heavier than my Kia Sportage? It's only 6 inches longer. I wonder how much the antiquated nickel metal hydride batteries weigh.

It's a body on frame SUV with a ladder chassis derived from that of the Tacoma/Tundra/Sequoia.
The Sportage is a unibody car-based crossover on a FWD-biased chassis with the engine facing the wrong way.
