Anyone here import wheels from Japan? How much is shipping usually?
>>
I like the front wheel more than the rear wheel.
>>
>>28831891
If you have to ask that, you're too late. Last year was the latest you want to ask that question because the tariffs ruined the importing japanese parts game. On top of $400+ in shipping you'll have to pay an import duty too. I think it's 15%.

The wheels I've been looking at on yahoo auctions jp are like $65 for a set of 4. So the tariff is nothing but spending like 6x the cost of them for freight isn't worth it.
I already have tires in mind. Maybe I'll have to track down a set of wheels from an old civic or a Hyundai accent or something

Is buying new wheels for summer and keeping my winter tires on my stock wheels actually financially responsible to save money mounting and remounting the tires (and the damage to the tire bead that comes with that) or is it a completely aesthetic purchase and my money would be better served on something else?
>>
>>28844786
Purely from a money standpoint, how much does it cost to get your shit remounted twice every year, how much are you planning to spend on wheels, and how long do you need to keep them in order to break even?
>>
>>28844789
$1100 for the wheels
$200 to mount and balance tires twice a year
5.5 years to pay them off

>>
>>28844807
If you've got a spot to keep the spare set, I'd say worth. You'll be able to recoup some money for the wheels in the event you decide to sell them off too.
And a new set of wheels is a good way to completely change the look of a car without actually doing much.
>>
>>28844807
>$1100 for the wheels
makes no sense for winter wheels
buy a set of steelies or cop a cheap set of oem wheels from craigslist, otherwise don't bother
>>
>>28844829
>If you've got a spot to keep the spare set
set of wheels and set of tires are the same size- the size of the tire
>>
>>28844827
Same because they resemble old mangels wheels which I like.
I've been looking for these in 5x5.5 pattern, but finding them in Europe is quite difficult and when you do, ridiculously expensive
>>
>>28845507
My oems are kinda scuffed already from the previous owner. I was going to buy nice wheels for summer and use the curb rashes oems for winter
>>
>>28845652
then just buy nice rims with no consideration for how fast they'll pay themselves off, and keep oems as free winter wheels
