Are you ignoring one right now?
>>28831616Nah, my car doesn’t have one.
>>28831616Been ignoring it since it came on back in '92.
No but I used to drive a Mk4 Golf and that literally always had a CEL.
>>28831634lies
>>28831616It usually works
>>28831616it's come on twice in the last year and went away after i gave 'er the old italian tune up.
>mfw P0420It comes and goes but I need to fix this piece of shit, it's an unclearable code.
>>28832001Just get a defouler already. Takes all of 5 slap one on and be code-free.
>>28831616Bought a 5th gen Explorer cheaper because it had a CE light for catalyst efficiency. Proceeded to ignore the light because no emissions checks around here. It went out.
>>28831616no i have some mystery issue that has no code but i just know something aint right
>>28832024This. I have done this going fully catless and it works. Your secondary (post-cat) O2 sensor is just there to check catalyst efficiency, in 99.9% of cars it is not considered by the ECU for anything else and you don't need it. Just move the sensor away from the pipe, badda-bing.
>>28832001Same, mine just went away, I'll wait till winter is over
>check engine light comes on>check engine>yep its still there
>tfw P0456I've replaced everything that's cheap/easy. I guess next step is dropping the tank or selling the car.
>>28832107You checked the vent valve and charcoal canister?
>>28832111Vent valve, purge valve, new gas cap.Haven't done charcoal canister because a new one was like $400. Was thinking maybe checking for a cracked hose or fuel pump seal or something but I need to drop the tank for that.
The 10 year old battery has given me a low battery warning once, it hasn't appeared again yet
i think my head gasket is blownwhite exhaust + slight milky oil on cap, it's not a milkshake or anything but probably bad
>mystery p0121 appeared once and car went to limp mode
>>28831616Yeah got a P0420 code, I can clear it whenever but it always comes back in a few days.
>>28831616I’m riding with 3 horseman of Subaru owners. Check engine, traction control and cruise control error. Air sensor fault. Changed the sensor and didn’t work can’t figure it out. I have a custom map and probably need to delete air recirculation. Also I’m tired.
>>28831616>clear faultMust of been the wind
>>28831616>randomly appeared on my Accord 5 years ago>take it to a mechanic>tells me to take it a dealer>don't>a week later it goes away>hasn't reappeared since
>>28831616>tfw when your car is too old to have a check engine light
I bought new wheels and tires combo online and installed them about 8 years ago, they don't have tpms sensors in them so I get to stare at the light on the dashboard.
P0193 high fuel pressure.Occasionally it happens for long enough that the fuel pump stops delivering fuel and it dies while driving. I have no idea I'd it's the sensor or the connection or the wires.
>>28833250I also have to tell the ecu to check for them monthly otherwise my pos won't let me go over 80mph
>>28834167Mine will take whatever current level as standard and flags variances.I've not tried zero.
I rolled a car in the snow once, it still ran fine but it got a check engine light. A few months later I heard a bang from the engine out of nowhere and the light went away.
>>28831616>just ICE things
>>28831616I stopped procrastinating today. Had a slow puncture so I went to the local mechanic to see if it was repairable. It was repaired, £20 for it. A new Pilot Sport 5 tyre costs £160 to be fitted. Bretty gud.
>move to a county with e-check for the first time>pass>two days later CEL comes on, don't remember the code but the cat wasn't working at peak efficiency >eventually just goes awayhope I pass next year lel
>>28834286Smog checks are literal Communism.
>Diag>EVAP monitor>MIL off>Diag>O2 Bank 2 sens 1,2>MIL off
Delete all....
>>28834308>american inventionChecks out.
>>28831616nope i fixed it unlike you wrenchlets
>tfw both my cars are in tiptop shape and I keep them that way
abs light, doesnt seem to be anything wrong with anything tho so whatever
>>28831616My car is so old it doesn't have one. Well it does, but if it's on my engine is already well-done
Have had a transmission oil leak for about 18 months, refilled about two gallons, but now it's speeding up so I'm gonna have to get it fixed. At least my oil is fresh.
>>28836193You are aware that the oil leaks onto the street, into the environment and ultimately back into your body?
>>28836201Yes
>>288362041st book of Moses 3:19Then you will return to the ground from which you came. For you were made from the ground, and to the ground you will return.
>>28831616I've got a pretty gnarly gudgeon pin/rod knock and flogged tappets sound I've been trying to ignore because I literally have no garage space to drop & rebuild the engine again, I think more oil stabilizer will make it go away again for a little bit
>>28831616It goes away after I let it do its thing for a while
>>28831616Got a low oil pressure light on startupfrench electrics moment
>>28831616Took down the tranny and replaced the tf. The light's not going away though because it requires a 20k dongle and a software loicense to remove lmao.
>>28836370>tf >torque converter*God I need coffee.
>>28836208The oil came from the ground long before me so I'm just sending it home
>>28831616>Are you ignoring one right now?It's a misfire. It's always a misfire.
>>28836377Exactly, recycling it for the coming generations to drill back up again
>>28831616My wrangler tj has had it on for 15 years and at least half a dozen shops havent been able to figure out what it is
>5 cars and not a single cel on any of themsometimes i forget that this board is like 80% black people now. disgusting.
I have an e-wastegate position code that pops up after cold start>tfw I clear it with ecutek every day and runs perfecthehe. I'll fix it when it stops clearing.
>>28833250my rear wheel sensor is shot so i get to do that too
>oil pressure comes up as a CELwho the fuck decided this was a good idea
>hit pothole>light turns offIt's fixed.
No.The longer you wait the more expensive it gets.
When I drove a 2007 ford fusion I ignored the engine light for 200K miles.
>>28831616>p0700 shift error"this is fine"
>>28832055ayy
>>28831616The LED on mine burned out, so I don't even know.
>>28831616Yes, in the peterbuilt im driving. It came on for about 10 minutes and went away.
>>28831616>CCWAIntermittent P0401 at high revs.
>>28837682This, nibbas will turn a spark plug/coil pack or a sensor into a that and the entire catalytic converter because they burned the thing up, it sucks cats can't live forever even when the engine never gets to a point where it's misfiring, but you can extend the life as long as possible if you're not dumping straight fuel into it.
>>28831616If I see it, I scan it.
>>28831616>check emissions systemno, I don't think I will
I have two I am ignoring lol
Because I modded my car, I get the light for an 02 sensor and fuel rail system error. I just clear the code with my odb2 race dongle and it goes away.
>>28842716Based code clearer, can't have a malfunction if you never have monitors
>>28831616Yup, pic rel
>>28844955>nothing to do with the car conking out due to no oil or dead alternator>warning light res as if you're gonna die right now over something only mattering when you crash>meanwhile engine light (bad) or flashing (holy shit stop driving) is merely orange, suggesting you take a look at itWhy are cars like this?
>>28844960>warning light resred*
>>28831616With a scanner you can read the code and ignore it confidently.
>>28845094Not all of them, if a code is simply stored it'll be gone, but if it's got a permanent code and you clear it, it will stay in the computer as pending and pop up once the monitor is set because cars are stupid
>>28831616Not a single light lit on my GMT800 dash (yes the bulbs work) which is a divine miracle.
>>28844960If the engine breaks it's on you, if you die in a crash because the airbag didn't deploy it's on the manufacturer.
>>28844960Safety first
>>28831616For some reason the x3 excel is obd1 with an obd2 plug. so I couldn't find out what the problem was.current forester is fine, just gotta get the tint redone and polish the headlights.
>>28831616Yep. The last time I checked, it was a faulty O2 sensor heater. Can't be bothered to replace it.
>>28831616>CEL and severe oil burning on a Hyundai with the Theta I4 engine
>>28831616Yes. My winter beater has had one one for years. Don't really care. It's just an O2 sensor.
>>28831616Yes, I had to cut out my cat to get my car to run so I have a permanent CEL now. When I finish building the replacement engine I'll give it a new cat, no sense in buying one now that's just going to get clogged with blowby again.
>p0420Ayy lmao. But seriously there is no cat. Now the flashy p0300 has me conserned.
