>>28839509someone explain this to a braindead retard. I get the car costs 31995. I get that the car plus the fees is 44852.55. 20k down so you owe 24852.55. But if you take 75 months and 428/month thats 32100. what are you multiplying .0849 by to get that much extra of a payment. so at the end of it all you would have paid 52k for a 32k car that actually cost 44k with added fees. i dont get it
>>28839742Judging by the $899 doc fee id guess that it is in fact california. (Theres set limits for every state and california is one of the highest).

>>28839743The interest is calculated daily on car loans, but you can do a monthly estimate. If you borrow $10,000 at 10%It applies 10% to the principle amount total.Let's assume:If Your first payment is $500$10K x 10%=$1,000$1,000/12 months=$83 a month interest. So $417 would go to the principal and $83 as interest to Mr Goldberg. Then the 10% would be applied $9,583 exe. There's a few more steps, but that's about it also something to consider when making extra payments:Extra payments are also part of the interest rate.If you paid extra on your loan 1 day before your payment was due, the extra amount would be also subject to the 10% interest. That's why I schedule extra payments the day after the payment goes though. So I'm paying like $2 extra in interest.

>>28839761Hi I am retard*. Could you explain more what you mean about this extra getting the 10% interest? On the personal loan i took once, payment above the scheduled was applied to principal. It was from a bank. I’ve not yet had a car loan from bank or stealership.*you can use a|p finance math, i’m a retard at the english part. And the part where I’m considering signing up for car slavery next year.
>>28841281Retard here, i figured it out. So because interest accrues daily (example 1000 a year = something like $3 a day) they always make you pay the interest first, so if main payment is on the first and extra is given on the 2nd you lose (slightly less than) $3 by waiting that 2nd day for the extra payment. Assuming that your financials are where you could pay both on day 1.

>>28841746>Normies are getting 12%-18%On a car? I bought a car last year and they offered me 6.5% interest with no credit. Of course I just bought the car in cash because I'm not a retard, but if I had good credit they were going as low as 2%. Nobody is paying 12% interest on a car.
>>28842243>if I had good credit they were going as low as 2%No they weren’t. Trust me on that
>>28842306Ok, 2.49%, until like a week later. My car got a $1500 price increase just a week after I bought it because of certain events taking place in late January 2025.
>>28842316>as low asNobody gets that. Nobody.
>>28842306It's possible. 1.99% financing as incentive to get you to buy a slow selling car.
>>28842326Yeah, when I bought my most recent car, all the hybrids were a minimum of 7%, but if you bought an ICE or electric car, you could get 2% because nobody wanted to buy them.
>>28842324Plenty of people get that. I get every single advertised offer. Do you have <700 credit and basing it on your experience? kek
>>28840459>So how exactly do you end up getting screwed so hard? I literally don't understand because I've never bought a car. Here's what happened: The retard who bought the car in OP walked into the stealership and said, "I wanna buy this car, and I have $20k to put down on it," instead of pressing the salesman for the out the door price of the car. All that does is tell the dealership they should try to jew you out of more money on bullshit, since they make most of their profit on marked up service fees and selling the loan to a bank at a higher interest rate. The lender has what is known as a "buy rate," which is the base rate they offer the dealer for the customer's loan. The dealer then tacks on an extra 1-2% interest before getting you to sign on the dotted line, which is the "sell rate" of the loan. This is known as the "dealer reserve," and they pocket that extra money for acting as the middleman. So it's always in the dealer's best interest to get you to finance as much of the car's price as possible. You can use this to your advantage to get them to lower the line price of the car or waive some of their bullshit fees. They will try to claim stuff like the "doc fee" is mandatory, but you can just ask them to take the price difference off the selling price of the vehicle. Always focus on getting a low "out the door" price rather than a low monthly payment or high trade-in value for your old car. Telling the dealership you have a car to trade in before negotiating the out the door price of the new car will just make them raise the price of the new car accordingly. Your goal is to negotiate the best out the door price for the new car with as little money down as possible. Think of your trade-in as a separate transaction entirely. After you negotiate your out the door price of the car and buy it, go home and wait until it's time to make your first payment to the bank. It's at that point when you should pay off the car with your large down payment.
>>28842316>as low as>still not as low as you claimedThis is your brain on finance>>28842339No you don’t>my goy score is better than yoursNever had a credit card, never had a bank loan, never had credit or loans of any type, never had a passport, never had a mortgage and never paid rent. >>28842353I already told you, I bought the car in cash, but had I good credit and wanted to finance, they'd give me 2.49%. The point is, nobody is paying 12-18% on a car loan. That'd be astronomically retarded, nobody would ever even consider it. Houses don't even get that much interest.
>>28842356>I bought the car in cash>they told me about what finance rate I would get>they discussed this with me despite me not ever taking out finance or wanting it >they told me about what rate I could get >it could be 2 percent>actually it wasn’t 2 percent it was 25 percent more than that but it happened>also I paid cash and they wasted their time talking to me about finance I didn’t want on a car I didn’t buy at a rate they weren’t offering to people like me

>>28842383>hey discussed this with me despite me not ever taking out finance or wanting itI did ask about it, because as everybody knows, walking into a dealership shouting "I'll pay cash for this car!" makes you a Class 1 Sucker. You got to play the Art of the Deal. >>28840149I financed my 2026 Civic Si solely to get a $500 rebate. Paid it in full once I had access to the loan on Honda Finance’s website. Through some kind of Jew witchcraft I ended up paying less in total than my sales contract. If anyone would like to try and figure it out, here’s what I did. I can’t make any sense of it.>Price of car $34096>Extended warranty/service contract $3295>rebate -$500>Doc fee $599.50>Taxes and license $575.50>Total $38066>read terms of warranty/service contract and requested refund. But I’m not arguing it.
>>28842938>Cancelling extended warranty on his 1.5T engineYou're fucking crazy Anon, that's like a $5,000 head gasket job if it does the cold start misfiring thing when coolant pools on the cylinders when the gasket fails, it used to be warranties meant nothing on based Hondas but the new ones are failing as hard as a fucking Audi
>>28842943It has a 5/60k powertrain warranty I don’t care. I drive it 90 miles a day at highway speeds so never any short trips and maintain it more frequently than what Honda calls for, with zero plans of modifying it whatsoever. If after 60k miles it needs a head gasket, so be it. Then it’ll get upgraded as it’s apart to prevent it happening again. I’m not worried at all about it.
>>28842534That's true, you have to make sure there's no early payoff penalty before you sign the loan contract. My loan allowed me to pay up to $5k at once, but anything more than that and you had to call them to ask for a payoff quote or something like that.
